The other downsides are the paddle shifters on the wheel They seem more like paddle buttons and can be difficult to reach. Maybe some DIY can help You know extend those pedals a little bit more. The weakest link of the package are really the pedals They are extremely light They are flimsy and the brake pedal offers no resistance

 It works out of the box But if you connect it to the PC without the drivers and without the software necessary to run it You'll only have about 200 degrees of wheel rotation So download the software and install it on your PC. Going to the wheel itself It's all plastic 11 inch wheel with the comfortable rubber grip in a sturdy package The layout is very familiar and maybe this is was the wheel that popularized the current layout for many modern wheels So you see the D-pad and you see the four buttons on the right side So if you look into a Trustmaster and then you look into this one into this Driving Force GT You know, there are many many similarities to it There are also plenty of assignable buttons a 14 in total in a special line knob and button combo for Gran Turismo games. On the right side, there's also sequential shifter knob connected to the base So there's a choice between the button shifters and the shifter knob. The shifter knob also gives you two extra assignable buttons This wheel will be secured to a surface through a clamp system and there are a couple of plastic squares or boosters to help clamping in a thin table

 To see how hard it could be with such a light pedal set I've tried the Clio Cup at Nacal International one of my favorite combos and this combo also requires precise brake inputs There wasn't a corner that I didn't lock the tires Fortunately, there are brake pedal mod ideas for this set and they will vastly improve your experience The pedal sets having such a light resistance also means it's easier to stay in place You don't need to you know, put your foot down really I had no problems with it slipping either in the carpets or in the wooden floor I have in my house Maybe a more polished stone or tiles might be an issue But for myself for the experience that I was having in a set of Corsa and at Project Cars 2 it was great In conclusion for such an inexpensive wheel the Driving Force GT is a high quality offer Even with this these pedals considered in the mix it ticks all the necessary boxes for you to start It has good force feedback. It has excellent feel good quality build in a better than most pedal set for the price point It's a sturdy piece of equipment that offers a good experience and excellent value if you're tight on budget and you found a good deal This is a wheel you should get

 Driving it gave me a throwback to my G25 days There's a lot of steering whine making this wheel just like the older brother very very noisy wheels Also, there is a very distinct gear sensation as every particular gear and cog is felt in the movement of the wheel The force feedback on this wheel is actually pretty good with the sims I had time to try so I tried the Seto Corsa in Project Cars 2. In the Seto Corsa The loss of grip was very apparent and informative. It gave me all the relevant information in what the car is doing Project cars though add a more mute feeling to it It still provided the relevant information and I didn't use any force feedback files. It maybe gets better Generally, the force feedback felt more than adequate showing understeer or oversteer with the correct dynamics though something needs to be said about the force rather than the feedback

Logitech Driving Force GT - Best budget sim racing wheel - PC review/overview

BACKGROUND I've always been skeptical about buying a wheel for racing games. 100 bones to put down for a video game accessory is a bit much, right? Then I looked at my library of racing games for my PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, and I got to thinking how much more playable these games just might be with a wheel. After all, what fun is controlling a stock car or indy car on your computer with a Joystick or Keyboard anyway? And why is it that I can't seem to seamlessly go through turns and straightaways on my controller for my PS3 or Xbox 360? So I read the millions of reviews for this thing along with several other wheels out there on the market, and decided to plop the money down for this thing.  WHAT I USE THE WHEEL WITH I play Grid and Formula 1 extensively on the PS3, and for PC it's the NASCAR series from EA and TOCA Racing 3

 However, to set thing thing up is a pain. There are 3 cables: one for the pedals, one for the USB connection, and one for the power to the wheel. It takes some creativity to get the cables to go places without causing a tripping hazard for those not playing, and so that your cables aren't intervening upon your pedals, either. Plus, you have to find a table of some kind to hook the wheel up to

  MINOR STUFF I DON'T LIKE ABOUT THE WHEEL When I first tried to play the game Grid with this wheel it was unplayable. I came real close to giving up and going back to my controller. I read online to try and find fixes for this, and the results were mixed. Some said they gave up and said this wheel is not meant for Grid

  WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THE WHEEL Where do I begin? This wheel is amazing. Really. I've been shaving lap times left and right on all my games. In one case I can actually just play the damn thing (Formula 1)

I Can't Race With a Controller Ever Again

 However, for the price I think you get a good deal because it works on the PC, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 2. It uses a USB cable, and also has a power supply for the force feedback. You Xbox 360 owners will have to buy a completely different wheel. And no, this does not work for Super Monaco GP on the Genesis

 There's a shift knob on the right side of the platform which feels pretty cheap and just clicks back and forth, it gets the job done if that's what you want to use, personally I prefer the paddle shifters. The wheel's performance is quite good, it gives adequate force feedback, and I use it for all of my driving games now, Gran Turismo 5, iRacing, Dirt 3, I love that it works on the PlayStation 2 as well because there's a ton of driving games for the PS2. The pedals do feel a bit cheap, and I have used the Logitech G27, that is a much better wheel, but it will also cost you more money. While the wheel does a decent job simulating a real driving experience with its force feedback, the pedals are way too soft and don't actually feel like you're driving a car, they feel like video game pedals

 It's comfortable with a rubbery surface, and has two paddle shifters on the reverse side of the wheel. The two knobs on top work with grips underneath to affix the wheel to a coffee table, TV tray, or play seat, which is what I have it hooked up to here.  I can't recommend any alternatives because nothing else exists as good as this, as the Driving Force GT at this sort of money. Of course, you can spend a lot of money, you can spend hundreds, you can spend thousands and get something that outperforms the Driving Force GT for sure, you know, that's not the point of what we're talking about. This is about getting huge value for money, and this is what this product offers. So it's a fantastic piece of hardware and by demonstrating all these current driving games using this setup, it's basically proof that Logitech Driving Force GT is completely relevant today, as it was when it came out over a decade ago

 So before you look at buying a new wheel and pedal set, do watch the rest of this video and see if you're convinced.  I happen to prefer this wheel's shape to the G25. I like the ergonomic grip and I find it very comfortable for long races. In addition, despite some of the buttons not working, I have more than enough of them to make me happy. There is very little flex or wiggle

 The Driving Force GT does have separate access to these pedals, so despite them being simple, they do achieve job number one. Now like I said earlier, I'm an old time DFP fan and I know many others still using that wheel. So with this being the evolution of that wheel, let's compare them. Looking at the wheels side by side, the biggest difference is the much more exciting look of the new Driving Force GT

 You can see the huge leap that Logitech has made in making it look like a real wheel. And the red knob gives it sort of a Formula 1 flare. Next, and a very big improvement, is the size of the wheel.  A few of these buttons are only going to be available while using the wheel for a PlayStation. After mapping the working controls and adjusting some Force Feedback settings, it's time to finally get a feel for the wheel in game. The Driving Force GT only took me one lap to be blown away. The wheel is incredibly smooth and very responsive

 Say your car is on a steep graded curve. The wheel will want to turn you towards the top of the curve because thats the way the physics pull the car, so as others have mentioned you have to 'fight' with the wheel. Prologue has settings for how hard the wheel turns you, so you can set it to your liking. This is what ultimately makes the wheel worth it, and makes driving become second nature with the wheel

 Here's why:  Build - The wheel and wheel housing feels super solid. Everything about it feels like a high-end peripheral. I can not say the same about the foot pedals. I'm not sure what I would expect for the price, but the pedals remind me of lower priced units - all plastic, not very heavy, etc

Don't buy this wheel before fully researching complaints. This wheel isn't cheap; save your hard earned $$$ for a G27 or better.

 In all of these games, I have had to turn the difficulty up because having this wheel makes me such a better driver. There was a learning curve to overcome, but after that, I have been tearing up the road as compared to trying to use an X360 controller. I sometimes get giddy playing Dirt 2/3 because the FFB is so well-executed that it makes you feel the grip and the crazy sliding in visceral way. I love it

  I use this wheel for games like GRiD, Dirt 2/3, and Need for Speed Shift 1/2. Of these games, this wheel works best with Dirt 3, though I was able to make it work on Dirt 2 by editing an XML file. In all of these games, I have had to turn the difficulty up because having this wheel makes me such a better driver.   I had a lot less luck with games like Burnout Paradise and Test Drive Unlimited 2. The latter "fully supports" this wheel, but even so the force feedback leaves a lot to be desired. The problems I have had with this wheel have been minor, but I will mention them

 The stitching is a little crude in places but it feels mostly pretty luxurious, it feels like a wheel you could find in an expensive car. If you aren't familiar with alcantara it's difficult to describe but it is lovely to touch and aside from wearing gloves it gives you the best grip possible on your wheel. The wheel size is also an important note, I used a Logitech wheel for a while and the extra couple of inches this wheel has makes it a totally different experience. It is the difference between feeling like you're using a toy and feeling like you're using something that was lifted from an actual car
