 The Tholino Vision 6, which is the sibling from the Tholino Alliance in Germany, mostly uses the same materials except on the back side, where the Tholino model is using rubberized higher quality plastic and feels much nicer to the touch. The back cover of the Libra 2 is also the reason why the build quality doesn't feel as good as it could. Because the plastic cover tends to make a cracking noise here and there, it's not too frequent, but I definitely notice it in everyday use. Other than that, the Libra 2 feels sturdy and lies well in the hand

 On mobile read, quite a few people have been complaining about UI freezes and crashes. The problems seem to come from Kobo using different hardware components, which is not unusual for any consumer electronics device.  It doesn't have that quad core CPU like the Kobo Sage. So it comes with fewer or less features, but when it comes to the reading experience, it is quite good. So check out theebookreader.com for the full review

 They got a good tactile response. The back has a little bit of texture, so it's not slick at all. It doesn't feel like it's gonna slip out of your hand at all like some e-readers do. And like I said, you got the USB-C port here on the side

Review: Kobo Libra 2

 I like the shape and heft of it — it's more substantial than the smaller Kindles, which is better for me. There's more than enough lighting, font, and other options to keep me reading. There's even a Dyslexic-style font, which helps many people who simply find it difficult to move from the printed page to ebooks.  Checking out library books isn't that much easier on the Kobo, because the default search takes you to purchase options, so it takes several clicks to check out the book

I just bought the Kobo Clara HD and I really like it so far. It's not that expensive and can handle a lot of file formats. In some areas of the world it supports Overdrive: lending public library ebooks straight from your eReader!

The PocketBook InkPad 3 (7.8" screen) is selling for 202.69 euros at Grooves. They'll ship free to the U.S., so I assume they'll ship free to Europe as well. I like the PocketBooks because they have ADE built-in, so you can buy your ePub books (or borrow them) from basically anywhere. They also have Send-To-PocketBook, so you can buy (or borrow) your book from a computer and send it (wirelessly) to your PocketBook. Or you can just send the .ascm file to the PocketBook via a USB cable. I think the T2 worked this way also. The Tolinos also has ADE built-in. The Kobos don't.

Hi everyone, I'm looking for a replacement for my Sony reader, but the e-reader market has changed so much since 2012 that I'm not sure what I should be paying attention to, especially what brands are considered good. 

When I used choice help on my tech website of choice it turned out a 'Pocketbook touch lux 5' would be ideal for me, but I've never heard of that brand before and I'm not sure if that device is good quality.

My minimal requirements are: an e-ink screen, screen size between 7 and 9 inches and being able to easily place e-books on the reader by cable transfer.

I'd prefer a touch screen, but buttons are fine. I don't really want a backlight, but most readers seem to have them now.

My budget is 200 euros (but I'm not sure if that's realistic for what I want, if it's not please tell me in the comments).

 The TouchLux 5 doesn't really change the home screen to the current line of pocketbook devices It's very much all the same library notes store browser and apps. You have the drop down from the top It's actually a tap task manager sync flight mode You have the front light with both regular light and smart light Which is basically the warm set of LEDs and you have some applications you do have the scribble app on here Which is really nice. We'll show you in a little bit as well as calculator calendar gallery RSS news, etc. You can go to your settings up here at the very top corner That'll bring you to Wi-Fi account synchronization a bunch of languages you even have maintenance So you can do factory reset demo mode USB mode whether you want it to charge or not And you can you look for your software updates right there the bottom of the device has four buttons You have home back forward left or right or the more button and on the home screen The more button will actually drop the top down for you Reading is very nice on this device as well page turns work via swipe or tap or you can use the physical buttons down below And if you press and hold you'll see it starts skipping by tens This is their own fast page turn engine They have employed into the device if you long press on something you get some options up above you get highlight scribble Take notes look in Google export and you have dictionary So if we click on make a note, you'll see here's the keyboard
