Ereader that works with google books?

I would recommend Onyx Boox Poke 3. It is decently priced at 190 dollars and runs on Android 10. It's screen is 6 inches. I myself have their Nova 2 (it's 7.8 inches) and I use is daily.

Wifi does not reliably connect. Says authentication issues even when it's saved and already connected before. Will swap for a new one and see if it's just a bad one I got.

The AMOLED display on the S7+ is gorgeous but I could never spend that much money lol. * Onyx Boox Note Air/Nova3 Color - I love how this looks and feels, and the pen looks amazing, but I'm a very visual person and I need colours in my notes.

Easy for use but fragil

The screen fell apart from the back and the touch screen did not work anymore. Nobody could repair it. Could the seller recommend some repairmen in NC?

If price isn't an issue, are non-color ereaders still better overall than color ereaders?

The latest update to the Onyx Boox Nova 3 Color has made it much better than at launch. I can read comix in comixology with nearly no ghosting if it's on Regal mode. While the colors aren't as vivid as they would be on an LCD screen, it's a lot better than greyscale. On the other hand, when I just want to read a novel - I go for my Onyx Boox Note 2 - it's bigger and more contrasty with black and white content.

If you’re not regularly reading PDFs, I don’t think you’d need to go bigger than 8”. But if you do, you have the Kobo Elipsa, the Pocketbook Inkpad X, the Pocketbook Inkpad Lite (lower resolution than other ereaders of comparative size), the Boyue Likebook P10 (also slightly lower resolution than competitors iirc), and the Boox Note 3/Air. Android ereaders take a hit on battery life.
