 I tend to like the list better It shows you more information and tells you like what the format is and everything And then you get like the actual Title spelled out instead just the cover so you got some different sorting options recent by date by series and author It hasn't been working right though with the recent. It's not showing my recent stuff on here It's kind of got a different idea of what recent is then you also got these tabs up here for books authors and collections And then you also have some additional filters as well So you can sort by like overdrive books you got through the library the books you side load it in the books You've downloaded from Kobo. You got a few different ways to navigate So if you've got like a larger library You can jump to the different pages that way or you can just simply swipe through your pages To see your different all your list of books then you got the different sorting options as well to narrow it down The only thing I don't like about this menu setup is it always takes two presses to do everything You have to hit the menu You have to hit the button to open the menu and then you have to hit whatever menu item shows up So usually you just have one button to go to home, but with Kobo, it's always a two-step process so Kobo's devices they support other content as well like manga and comics and You know children's books that got some different kinds of formats so you can load in CBR and CBZ This is actually a Kobo book and with Kobo's books They do have like the fast page turn feature and then they have but they don't have like a way to like page forward when you're Zoomed in so some other devices and apps like if you tap the screen You'll be able to advance while you're zoomed in and that it'll like follow the frames So the Kobo it doesn't do that on these type of books You do have to like manually scroll around the page or turn pages that way And then if you do that does have that fast page turn feature if you hold down in the corners You can scan through the book quickly that way Alright, so that concludes the Kobo Clara HD review for today.  I thought that would be kind of a problem at first, but I haven't accidentally pressed it yet It's a does require a bit of pressure. So they got the narrower bezel side bezels on this model I kind of find it more comfortable to hold from the bottom actually just sort of depends on your personal preference So here's a look at Kobo's very first front light ebook reader the Kobo glow on the left So the Clara HD reminds me a lot of it Obviously they're very similar design the same sort of look the Clara used to use just a little bit narrower and it's a little bit lighter It's got the higher resolution 300 PPI screen and they've also added the comfort light Pro with the adjustable front light temperature I'll show that in a second. And here's just a quick look at the Clara HD next to the nook glow light three It's amazing how much smaller it is Even though they both have the same six inch ink screen the nooks a lot larger with those side bezels They have the page buttons built in I do like the page buttons on the nook But it's just kind of amazing how much smaller the Kobo is than the nook So here's a look at the Clara HD front light. So it's all the way turned up right now We got it at the far end of the cool color So the thing with the comfort light Pro is you can adjust the color a little bit here You can add a little bit of warmness

 I kind of like a couple notches like right there Some folks might like it here You're like where you get halfway where you get a little bit more orange for reading at night This and then you also got the full on orange and then it kind of depends on like how much What level you have the brightness at is like what color it'll be as well So if you like take it down to half brightness, so it's not nearly as orange even at the farthest end of the setting So it just sort of like depends on how you want to customize your look of your screen So I do like that aspect of the Kobo Clara HD some folks would like the oranger light for reading at night And some folks like the lighter light the whiter light So it just sort of depends you can also set it to auto and what that does is doesn't have a sensor But it'll go off like based off the time of day and it'll gradually start adding more orange as the day goes on So you can read about it They have this little section here about the the comfort light Pro and how it works So if you tilt the screen, you can actually see the front lights down there There's seven like blue lights in six orange lights. You can skip the different chapters that way And if you hold down in the corner, they recently had this fast page turn feature You can swipe forward and back to turn pages quickly like sort of like swiping through a book If you hold down you can highlight so I find that the highlighting works better than it used to I used to have a bit of an issue with Kobo's not being as accurate as I'd like but it works now better It doesn't it does have a little bit of a lag to it But it does seem to be more accurate at the starting and end points for the highlighting So you can run searches by selecting a word or hitting the icon in the top right menu You can search in the book on Wikipedia and in Google Google and Wikipedia open up your web browser Then it'll give you this list when you're searching in your book and then you can Navigate through the different pages of all the appearances of it in your book And then once you select an option It'll take you to that location in your book and then you can scroll through the other results As well and then head back to the main list too if you want to so searching does work pretty well on Kobo's But it is limited to 100 results This is a look at Kobo's home screen. They changed it a while back So you got your recently read right here got some different options You can actually just remove it from your recently read section there and then you got the books some of these sections change depending on how you're using your device and how it's set up and then over here in your books view You got some different viewing options. If you wanted to view it by cover view

- higher DPI preferred. I've been looking at the PocketBook Touch HD3 or the Lux 5 or the Kobo Clara HD or Libra H2O.

 The matte screen does a good job diffusing glare from overhead lights.  Build quality and heft are both great. This thing is sturdy, though I'll probably get a case for it anyway just to keep it from getting beat up.  One last thing: It tells you that you can adjust the brightness by gesturing up and down at the left edge

Pros: Fantastic display, good backlight, relatively intuitive controls.  Cons: Touchscreen response is not perfect. Micro USB instead of USB C.  Overall for the price I'm really liking it

 Micro USB instead of USB C.  Overall for the price I'm really liking it. It's been a long time since I had an ereader and clearly large strides have been made over the last decade on the hardware side. I've got very good vision and the display is really sharp with only occasional ghosting

Simple, well built, and compact.

I really really like this E-reader, the thin bezels, the screen resolution, the weight, it's just perfet for reading , battery last almost to weeks the way I use it, and the natural light feature is also a relief to ny eyes, and besides all that I love the Pocket integration, it's easier to read all my articles in the Clara HD, than my laptop.  I can't complain about Walmart customer service, it's just top-notch!!

 This feature is lacking on the Kindle and because of that when you have a large library the Kindle drags when you are looking for a book to download because it is going through and showing you every book you own including the ones you've read or aren't really interested in (free books that you got because they were free and maybe someday you'd want to read them). Once you download the book on the Kindle and open it speed is not an issue. But on the Kobo this is never an issue so long as you archive books you've read and samples, free books and books you aren't interested in right now (reference books for instance). 

The second area is that the Kobo is a feather weight. It is only an ounce to an ounce and a half less than a comparable Kindle but it definitely makes a difference.

I have been using it for about six months now so I think I have a pretty good idea of the advantages and disadvantages of using the product on a regular basis

 I have truly enjoyed using this product over the last six months and except these issues that I mentioned with how it handles PDF resizing I think this is a really really good e-reader and I can recommend it with all the different parts of it. The screen is super nice, it does exactly what it's supposed to do, the battery life is great and it lasts forever. You never even have to think about when you're going to recharge it again and also the size is just the right size for it to be pocketable so you can just put it in your regular pockets and bring it wherever you want it to go with you.  With the Swedish libraries you can download it straight in the internet browser here so you have to do it on your computer and then use Adobe Digital Editions to transfer the file onto the e-reader using the USB cable. But this is a really smooth process and for the fact that you can read free e-books and use several e-books at the time without paying for it I just find this to be an absolutely amazing service that is available and it makes the Kindle not a very interesting device compared to this one.  And when you start looking at a comparison with the size of books this becomes really interesting. If you take a small book like this one the e-reader is still way way smaller than this book alone and that's just one single book. When you take a bigger book like this one it becomes almost laughable how small this e-reader is. And still it can hold up to a few thousand books on the 8 gigabytes of internal memory depending on the size of the books that you put on it obviously

Good e-Reader

 It doesn't really cost that much in my opinion for what you get. It's cheaper than the Kindle Oasis and the Kobo equivalent, I can't remember that name. It's quite a bit cheaper in my country at least. It's got a great front light, probably some of the best in the business

 Today I want to talk about this, the Pocketbook Inkpad 3 e-reader. So first off, let's talk about the screen. It has a big 7.8 inch screen with the PPI of 300

 The manufacturer claim up to four weeks of battery life and of course that vary on how you use the book and how much of the front lighting you use. In my experience, it's got great, great battery life. I only had it just more than a week. So I can't really comment on the four weeks battery life, but I haven't charged it yet and it's at around 80% and I've been reading every day for like nine days now

 So it's a very crisp screen and in my opinion, a great size screen for reading. I think those 6 inch e-books or e-readers are a little too small for my liking. So this 7.8 inch is like the sweet spot

PocketBook Inkpad 3 (740) - Review

I've had the PocketBook Color (which used the same screen as one of the Boox devices) and overall, I wasn't impressed. The screen looked more like an LCD screen then an e-ink one. There were visible black grid lines between the pixels despite the high resolution which irritated me and even in greyscale mode, images and text just didn't look as sharp as on my InkPad 3 which uses the regular e-ink screen.

Hi I've been looking into this and am considering getting one. I want to avoid eyestrain so a regular tablet is therefore out of the picture. I don't mind the way colours look so long as functionality is good and colour is simply ok.

Colour ereaders/e-ink tablets?

 E Ink (a company, not to be confused with the general concept of e-ink or digital ink) tried and failed with Triton from 2010 to 2013. In 2016, it came up with ACeP, which uses full-color pigments, but the page turn speeds are too slow for consumer ebook readers.

 That's not entirely their fault: Kaleido Plus still has serious issues with ghosting and page-turn speeds, which Pocketbook and Onyx deal with using opposite approaches. The InkPad Color's page turns are slow and you frequently see flash-heavy full refreshes. The Boox Nova3 Color is much speedier, but the ghosting problem is really bad. Nonetheless, until Kaleido Plus or equivalent panels can be produced in large quantities without those drawbacks, you're not likely to see a Kindle, Kobo, or Nook with a color e-ink screen, so these two products&mdash;flawed as they are&mdash;are the ones to consider for your color e-ink needs
