 Everything remains clear. Even when the music, it's a little bit chaotic, there's a lot of people who love that and then it's gon na be for somebody who says I want a lively presentation. I want it to project in a forward way, maybe not like clicks to where it sounds. Like somebody is playing their instrument on my eyeballs, but unless want to feel like I'm pretty close to the front stage again, that's what the speaker does very well and if you're in a difficult room, the speaker does a good job of eliminating the

 Now, let's go over some of the caveats and then I'm gon na wrap this all up: [, Music, ], okay! So there's a number of different observations I want to cover in this section and before I begin you need to know that most of them are gon na, be more subjective in nature. So, having said that, let's move on to my first observation, which, interestingly enough, isn't even my own - it's just something that I feel is worth sharing in this review, which is, as you can imagine. I know a lot of people who are huge fans of the keffe sound and when I asked him about the r3s of the people who spent time with the r3s, I would say, the majority of them were fairly lukewarm about the speaker and when I asked them. Why they said it was due to the treble you see, they're used to a bright, prominent presentation, and the r3 doesn't offer that, while it is forward in nature due to how it projects sound out into the room, the top end is rolled off and it's more Smooth and it's delivery and did those people - it's not bright enough, it's not sharp enough and they feel like it's just a little too safe and dull sounding now

 This is where I like them the best, because not only do I feel, like they sound the most natural when setup this way, but I also love the rock-solid image that you get in between the speakers, but by all means. Experiment, for yourself is something that's free for you to try so point them directly out into the room and try all different configurations to see what works best for you moving on as with any high quality speaker. Yes, it will sound best when you can give it room to breathe. I would say: good foot and a half to two feet out from any wall boundary is where they're gon na sound the most balanced, but even though it's a rear, ported design, if you have to put it against a wall boundary, that's actually, okay

Review! The KEF R3 Bookshelf Loudspeaker!

 Now, with this being said, the CAF r3 is much like a floorstanding speaker. It does not struggle with any of the hard tracks I threw at it. In fact, when I had it kind of in a blind test with my friends and my mother hear my mother know you might maybe, like you know, under estimating my mother, my mother has listened to a lot of speakers. A lot of speakers, because mainly I listened to it and she's walking by and now she's just down to listen to it

 In fact, I found a lot of Hell speakers bookshelf speakers that sounded great JBL's happy a lot of speakers. However, I kept leaning towards floor-standing speakers for one main reason: floor-standing speakers for the most case, I'm not saying, for you know all the cases, but for most cases, floor-standing speakers tended to have a more full response, more base, more body in the bottom and, more extension, More full sound, more and more everything, and so I kept leaning towards floor-standing speakers and the more I got into this hobby. What I found was that bookshelf speakers have a physical limitation when it comes to reproducing some demanding tracks like hot Spade or hey now by London grammar. It'S a good one limit to your love, that's another good one! So when I played these tracks, bookshelf speakers tended to clip now

 Now, if I was to really think about it, it is a floorstanding speaker to a in extent. It is pretty big. So don't get me wrong. These are not small babies

 I crank this thing up with my auto eye in two hundred, I cranked it up to the maximum volume. I can possibly listen to you because I do that. Sometimes I'm guilty hey you're guilty of it too, but with that being said, these did not struggle one bit and that will bring me to the amazement of these speakers, because this could be possibly your solution or possibly my solution when it comes to limited limited space And you want a floor standing experience, their speaker does not compromise now. In most cases I would say yeah, but no here's the compromise, but here's the catch, there's there's no catch

Last minute opinions before pulling the trigger, are Focals worth the $1500 premium over Kefs for a 5.1.2?

WiFi streamer, either built in or external like audio engine B-Fi, with either the native app or simply using airplay from music app directly. Bluetooth does not impress me, but WiFi does fine. I prefer real sound pressure, so Kef R3’s with Marantz SR5015. Albums are a really cool way to experience music too because it requires work, which makes me feel more invested in the process

I have a panasonic bluray and chromecast i stream from my pc using foobar upnp to playback stream capture to bubbleupnp chromecast connected to a pioneer 7.1  receiver to a diy speakers sometimes i use the panasonic for that alternative sound signature.

I have Roon driving my local digital library and integrated with Qobuz.

For my main system, I have a Hegel H120 and a pair of GoldenEar Triton 2+. When I bought the Hegel, it was supposed to be "Roon Ready" but this never materialised, so I just use a Raspberry Pi RoonBridge instead. Works perfectly!

In my study I have a pair of KEF LSX with a small sub and these \*are\* Roon Ready, so integrate perfectly into that.

For Headphones I have a Topping D70/A90 stack which connects to another Raspberry Pi RoonBridge and hooks up my Meze Empyreans.

Finally I have a Sonos One in the bedroom for Audiobooks and sleepytime tunes. Again works fine with Roon!

I do also have a Spotify account which my wife uses more than me and this also works fine with all the above and her Sonos study setup.

Audio life is good here.

I switched over to Sonos for the convenience, it's not the greatest but it's fine enough, maybe I'll switch to Bluesound in the far future. My speakers are connected to the Sonos amp, I have 2 Sonos Ones as rears,, my TV inputs to the amp, my vinyl connects to a Sonos connect, which also connects to my amp/dac. So  I can go from any of my inputs (TV, PC, phone, vinyl) to any of my outputs (amp/dac, speakers). I like the convenience of it all and I've stopped being as picky about the sound.

Optical switcher output goes into the optical in on a BlueSound Node which direct connects to an Aragon 2004 power amp which powers a pairs of Monitor Audio Silver 300 speakers.

The Node is the streamer for Tidal Hi-Fi and ripped CD files on a network share and the DAC, pre-amp, and volume control for the whole system.

The optical switch lets me pick between TV, CD, and PS 4 as the sound source. On the Node I switch between Optical Input or Tidal.

The DVD player is used as a CD reader/transport only with the DAC in the Node producing the analog signal. Spent all of $8 on that a thrift store. Had to because PS 4 won't play audio CDs and my old player was getting moody about reading discs. I can't tell the difference between a CD through the $8 player and streamed from Tidal when they are the same release and resolution (CD Quality from Tidal).

This is meant to be a general question with no right or wrong answers. I am fairly new to the audiophile world and have been wondering what the best way to listen to your music is.

 I recently bought a Wi-Fi enabled Onkyo 8270 stereo receiver. I chose this because it has so many different ways to listen to music. I can use DTS Play-Fi, the built-in Chromecast, Fireconnect, networked audio, or even streaming services through the Onkyo app itself. There are also all of the analog inputs. I also wanted to have the option in the future to build a multi-room system with either the Chromecast or DTS Play-Fi. 

Here is my conclusion: All of the wi-fi sources suck. It's complicated. Laggy. It's just too much. Dts-Play-Fi is great except that it plays through your phone, kind of like bluetooth. The built-in Chromecast takes at least 3 minutes to load and then lags through the song. Trying to use networked audio is complicated. And the Onkyo app is slow and clunky, definitely not user friendly. 

This receiver is supposed to play Hi-Res audio but when I play Tidal masters either through the Onkyo app, chromcast or Play-Fi, I'm getting an AAC low-res version. The only work around was downloading the mconnect app that plays Tidal through Chromecast. And it still only plays at 24/48. How the hell are my wife and kids supposed to figure all that out?? I want to be able to walk up to my stereo, press one, or maybe two buttons, and hear hi-res music. How do I do that??

I'm thinking I return the whole system, find a non W-Fi stereo receiver with an HDMI input and just plug in a Chromecast. (I plugged in a chromecast to the 8270 stereo and it worked great. 10 times better than the built-in chromecast. But why did I pay $600 for a Wi-Fi stereo if I am just going to be using a plug-in chromecast? It's all so stupid.)

How Do You Listen To Your Music?

 there's multiple layers of it. But our advisors get a chance to really get hands-on with the products that we carry and they get to listen. They get to see they get the find out the nuances of how things are connected, how they run the actual procedure of how to connect different things. Together, so it gives them a lot more confidence when talking to customers about what they want to recommend for the right solution for a customer

 There were differences in output levels. When you moved to the ELACs. You went down in volume., It was pretty noticeable difference and that I think came across because of the lower sensitivity rating on it, which was 85db, but if they listened more to that and kind of adjusted for their output volumes, they wanted between them

 However, they didn't miss much when they went moved on down to the bass and mids and that really impressed me.. I then moved down to the KEFs, the big boys of the bunch, and they were in the middle of the price range, with the B & W as being the highest., The KEFs also delivered a flat response, although I found it a little too flat for my Listening preference

 They wanted to.. So I connected the Node 2 to the PreSonus monitor board and that enabled us to switch between the three speakers.

Hi, everybody, I'm Dave D. with Crutchfield, and I 
set up demos for a lot of our advisors, and I find  

that the benefit behind that...there's 
multiple layers of it, but our advisors get a  

chance to really get hands-on with the products 
that we carry, and they get to listen. They get to  

see they get the find out the nuances of how 
things are connected, how they run the actual  

procedure of how to connect different things 
together, so it gives them a lot more confidence

And today an example of our demo is a comparison 
between three bookshelf speakers. I've got the KEF  

R3, I've got the B&W 705 S2 speakers, and I've 
got the ELAC Carinas, So we're representing  

three different levels of pricing, with about a 
thousand dollars between levels, and I was able  

to set these up, power them with equal power. For 
the amplification, I used a multi-channel Anthem amp  

that delivered about 90 watts per channel to each 
pair of speakers, so it was a level playing ground  

for them to listen to. And I fed a signal from the 
Bluesound Node using TIDAL Connect, so they had  

high-quality streaming going to the amplifier 
and enabled advisors to really kind of choose  

their music they wanted to. Things that they 
know, things that they're familiar with, so they  

knew the nuances, they knew the different cymbals, 
they knew when the kick drum was going to start,  

and they were able to feed that into whatever 
choice or whatever pair of speakers they wanted to.  

So I connected the Node 2 to the PreSonus monitor 
board, and that enabled us to switch between the  

three speakers. They could quickly compare, turn 
off one pair, turn on another, they could have  

all three on if they wanted to, and some did that, 
but it really allowed them kind of to self-serve  

the listening experience for themselves without 
any guidance. And that's a lot of what the advisors  

want to do. They want to discover things for 
themselves, and that really enabled them to do it.  

And when I set up the demo, I actually gave 
it a listen myself for the first time and
