I got my roomba refurbished and it seems to work like a dream while being much cheaper! I'm constantly finding the tank full after it has run through my downstairs even when I thought the floor was pretty clean! We have 2 cats so it is working well for their hair.  My only real complaint is that it is very noisy. I had another brand bot vac which was awful at picking stuff up and constantly missed areas (roomba is doing great and both of these issues) but it was very quiet. My husband and I have to plan around his meetings for work because it is so loud on the ground floor that it could disturb his meeting on the second floor of his office door is open

I wasn’t sure if this would hold up to litter on carpet as I have cats and even mats under their boxes but it can still track onto the carpet. I wasn’t sure how this would work on carpet with litter and it sucks it up with no problem! This is my new little helper upstairs and downstairs in my kitchen!  In a weird shaped room like a hallway or around furniture legs, it is ponderous and feels like it runs over the same spot again and again. In a big room it makes neat, straight, long lines.  For a robot that only knows where it has been by using a tiny sensor on the bottom and the front bumper, it performs remarkably well. Not nearly as well as a LIDAR or camera robot but my wife has privacy concerns about having a live camera in the house so we aren't buying any more intelligent of a Roomba

 We previously had a 600 series and it went through a flood, vacuuming cat pee, numerous disassembly and deep cleanings, it was a tank.  Enter the i3, the robot that is sold as a robot that maps and can do room by room cleaning. Except it doesn't until 3 days later when it decides to update the software to the version that enables that. I opened a ticket with iRobot asking when this was going to be pushed to the robot; I got the software before an answer from them

 But it is a really good deal for a robot that does room by room cleaning and actually has a "proper" supply chain and parts availability.

 Out of warranty repair (thanks for nothing!) is $95. A decision was made to buy a new robot as it would come with new everything and a warranty AND is an iRobot device. I mean, it's OKAY....

 Vacuums with this feature typically cost around $1,000, however, which is a lot more than most people are able or willing to spend. That makes the Roomba i3+ EVO especially appealing; at $549.99, it's iRobot's most affordable model with a self-emptying dustbin. Its battery life isn't spectacular and its smart mapping capabilities are limited to a single floor, but depending on your needs and budget, it might be the right model for you

While some robot vacuums have shiny mirrored covers that show dust, the i3+ EVO sports a textured, matte, gray finish on top that looks almost like fabric and minimizes fingerprints. It also has a Room Confinement (RCON) sensor on top that allows it to detect its Clean Base as well as a Light Touch sensor on the front that detects walls and other obstacles.&nbsp;

iRobot also recommends cleaning the robot's filter once a week (or twice a week if you have a pet) and fully replacing it every other month. To keep your robot running in tip-top shape, you should also clean the Full Bin sensor and front wheelx every two weeks. About once a month, you need to remove any hair that's wrapped around the brushes and wipe down all of the other sensors.&nbsp;

The app lets you know when the robot needs maintenance and even shows you how to remove the brushes and clean them, which makes the process simple.&nbsp;

iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO Review

I bought the aftermarket ones from Amazon too and found them WAY too noisy so I bought the iRobot ones. Unfortunately, they're still noisier than the disposable ones but slightly less noisy than amazon brand. I think the noise comes from the vibration of the plastic card with the braava. I'm thinking of adding some thin fabric to see if it'll make a difference

Is there a significant difference ? I just received some off brand from Amazon. They make the machine a bit noiser, that's for sure. But in terms of thickness and how much longer you can get of clean time without it becoming too saturated that it's useless ....are they much different ? I'm debating ordering the iRobot brand. It's a shame I can't find them in stores. 
Also, is there a way to switch pads during a cleaning cycle without interrupting its pattern ?

 However, it never even was able to fully map my house because it would get stuck on the low pile rug constantly. Kind of defeats the purpose of being able to turn it on and not having to worry. I would have kept it if it cost $100.

Not worth $400

 When I finally started to use it, the map features were nice, the suction was good (two dogs in our home), and it wasn’t too loud. However, overall, I prefer my other vacuum as the map is in real time and it’s more user-friendly and has fewer errors and issues.

 The WiFi is not really relevant for our situation, as we are retired and count pushing the "Clean" button as exercise. Perhaps WiFi has some utility in setting up a cleaning schedule, but that's not important to us either. Bottom line: The simpler your floor plan, the happier you'll be. If you have more than one goldendoodle, you will probably want the selfcleaning base

 Enter a Irobot Roomba I3 into our lives. Here's the good and the bad, short and sweet. The Roombas well-designed and well built. The I3 certainly has a more powerful suction than the Model 650 and it does well traversing between our area rugs, hardwood and tile

Another solid Roomba

I have had this vacuum for less than 2 years and have had nothing but problems with it. The self extraction stopped working and then would work on and off for several months and now I am getting en error message that the filter is clogged even though I've replaced it as well as the rollers. The customer support has been nothing but helpful, but definitely did not expect to be having to replace moat of the Robot at this early in the game. Hope your newer models are better
