I’m currently sleeping on the 25+ year old mattress that I was conceived on. As you can imagine I’m very excited to graduate from this one for multiple reasons. 

After trying out a handful of different mattresses and understanding the ridiculous prices of some, I’ve come to the conclusions that 1) I prefer a medium/firm bed, and 2) I’m poor. I visited IKEA today and found the $500 Heston mattress (queen size). Curious if anyone has any experience with it, how it holds up, or any advice whatsoever. Thanks in advance!

<p>Edit: I’m a 5’8” 160 lb male, and I’ll be sleeping in this mattress with my wonderful and tiny 5’0 girlfriend. We tend to sleep on our sides and stomachs.</p>

my mother has severe spinal stenosis (several discs have broken down, she's had rods and screws installed with little benefit, as well as a torn glute repair. take care of your spines, kids.) she's 56, ~155, and sleeps on her back, prefers med-firm or firm. her gentleman companion says he's comfortable on whatever. while they were moving in together I bought them a zinus, warning them that it would break down fairly quickly and need to be replaced, and that it would be a pain when it did. the time has come.

she's up every night in serious pain, and sometimes doesn't bother trying to sleep at all. her job is very difficult and both emotionally and physically demanding, especially during covid. I don't feel like I can waste her time with a bunch of returns or DIYing something, though the zippered mattresses with layers seem doable.

she's willing to spend up to $3500 and is interested in latex or a latex hybrid for its lifespan. I'd like to avoid memory foam and memory foam hybrids because if the next mattress sags within five years I'm going to turn into the Joker.

currently looking at the Alexander nest hybrid or an Ikea hesstun mattress+good latex topper, since we live fairly close to an Ikea and a return would plausibly be easier than dealing with a mattress company.
can anyone point me in the right direction, or confirm my instincts?

I have the Intellibed midnight from mattress firm..  it's a very comfortable bed. I'm on a split king also

Hi all. As my title says, I'm at a loss of what to do. I've been through 6 mattresses and am still not comfortable. My husband is frustrated that we've spent so much money on beds but I don't think he's comfortable either. Currently sleeping on a Sleep EZ latex set up, but I split the 2 sides out of the cover into their own cases so we essentially have 2 twin XLs on an adjustable base from leggett and platt. I've tried literally every combination of re-arranging the latex. Our sides are the same bottom to top: firm dunlop-med dunlop-soft talalay. RIght now I've got the medium on top since I don't like the way the soft talalay feels. The med is kinda firm and my hips hurt.

I'm 5'3 125lbs side and back sleeper but toss and turn bc I'm uncomfortable and sometimes sleep on my stomach. He's 5'10 175lb back and side sleeper.  I sleep in hotels often for work and generally don't have a problem sleeping on the variety out there. Usually wake up rested and not sore.

Beds I've bought:

* serta iseries (macys)
* Tempur pedic tempur contour elite breeze (orig bought the cloud but was too soft so exchanged for this)
* beutyrest silver luxury firm pillowtop (macys)
* saatva luxury firm
* casper original

I've tried literally every arrangement of latex layers on the current bed, including with other toppers I have from sleep on latex (a soft and med, 2 inches each). Plus a 2 inch sorta memory foam topper from target. Everything I read suggested latex was the way to go with durability, coolness, not sinking in, etc so that's why I bought it.  I'm waking up with a sore lower back if it's too soft. if it's hard then my hips are sore when I wake up. It just never feels right and he's not super comfortable either.

Where do I go from here? Unlimited budget but I can't keep buying beds and then returning them or being stuck to sell them losing $$$ and everything seems comfortable when I lay on it!! I used to have an original tempur pedic- back when they made just like 1 bed that was 8 inches tall (prob 10+yrs ago?) and I slept well on it.  

I hate that I am uncomfortable in my own home. It's affecting me since I am tired when I wake up and the soreness makes me not want to do anything/workout. I'm open to any suggestions and at this point I would pay $10k for a bed if I knew I would sleep well on it.

HELP! 6 mattresses later I'm still uncomfortable. At a loss of what to do.

 Great thing about it is that it feels soft, but yet firm at the same time, like you don't feel like you're sinking and then like drowning in the mattress, if that even makes sense. It just feels like everything is perfectly supported, and every time I get in bed, I'm just like, I can't get out of here, this is amazing. And the bamboo sheets that they also have, holy cow, those are so silky and so soft and like cool to the touch. You don't get sweaty, and I think that's really big with this mattress too, is like you're not going to feel sweaty or hot or anything like that
