 It even has an AI subsonic filter that will allow you to eliminate platter rumble from your sound system with the push of a button. This is a great, great, great phono preamp. Very rugged, very durable. This is about a $200 device

 It's not a large difference by any means. That being said, with the IFI, I personally did hear a tiny bit more high-end, a little bit more resolution in the upper frequencies. I didn't really notice any difference on the low end, but overall it sounded a little bit more dynamic. Again, unless I was going back and forth, I probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference, but I do think this is a good phono preamp, and if you've got an older turntable, you don't even have the choice of an internal preamp, this is a good buy for $100

 I mean, this is a budget channel. And one of the biggest things they've done is instead of, there's a warranty card by the way, instead of making it out of metal like their other products are, this one is made out of plastic. So the housing is similar shape. It's got a cool texture, but that is plastic

 If you've got $100,000 speakers, that's probably a different story, but for the most part, you're going to notice a nominal change in sound quality. I wanted to see if a newer phono preamp was better than the phono section in my 50 year old Mcintosh Preamp. I wanted to like it. It’s too bright for my taste.

My purchase ONLY came with a USB power supply cable that was less than 3 feet long. The short length of the cable made it unusable without an extension. Using the supplied USB power supply (with an extension), the Zen Air was noticeably noisier than my NAD PP2 (that uses a regular wall wart power supply). So I decided to try powering it with a $69 iFi Silent Power 5W wall wart power supply

So, you want to upgrade your setup? but your amp already has a phono input and your not sure this will make any difference? Make no mistake!, there IS a difference and a notorious one, better separation of channels, deeper bass, and overall better than my Yamaha's built in preamp, plus the subsonic filter fixed the rumble issue I was having with a couple of warped records I have around!

You're getting now with this, you're getting subsonic, you're getting a lot more settings. And, you know, I'm going to do my own video and talk about this

 So, in my book, you know, talking out loud, this probably is the best value phono preamp on the market today. You know, previously it was probably shit Manny, you know, the original shit Manny. It's legendary, right? You get it pretty cheap, and you know, nice little phono preamp. You know, just to show the size, very similar

 That is, although if you do have some weird kind of phono cartridge that won't work with this, then you need the settings from something else, then yeah, go that direction. But, for sure, this is the deal. You get great sound, great clarity from this, great dynamics. It doesn't give you a tuby, euphoric sound, so don't expect a three dimensional soundstage, still somewhat 2D flat
