The Gen 3 drops the 2-in-1 design, so if you're married to your stylus, you might want to look elsewhere. But HP has taken great advantage of the space on the chassis, including two Thunderbolt 4 ports, HDMI 2.0, a headphone jack and even a USB Type-A port with a drop-jaw hinge. For business users, that last port is still key for tons of peripherals and external storage.

HP has opted to use Intel's 12th Gen U series chips, which means you don't get the best performance, but for most white-collar needs, it should get the job done. It is also likely a contributor to the long battery life.

 If you can go without the fancy features, a cheaper configuration will work just fine. And if you don’t need vPro and are willing to go for a ThinkPad instead, you can get a modern processor.   

) It’s a bit of a letdown not to see 10th Gen chips in such a pricey machine — the comparable Comet Lake 10th Gen i7 has six cores, so you’re losing out on multithreaded performance capability, which is useful for tasks like compiling code and doing elaborate things with Excel. 8th Gen chips are also at a disadvantage compared to Ice Lake chips, which will do better with creative work, thanks to Intel’s new Iris Plus Graphics.  The screen still has the 16:9 aspect ratio, which is cramped for productivity use; I often had to zoom out to 80 or 70 percent to comfortably use tabs side by side. A laptop targeting business power users really should be 16:10 or, even better, 3:2. 

HP puts its best ideas in a laptop that few can afford. 

In a nutshell, I'm looking for a lightweight laptop that's easy to use on my lap, from my bed, in the car, anywhere and everywhere, almost like a tablet, but with more power - enough for some programming. I don't need that strong of a GPU for rendering.

Light weight (under 3 lbs) and quiet fans are my top priorities, with a powerful CPU next, then battery life, then display quality. Gaming capable would be preferred, but if it comes as a sacrifice to the other priorities like weight or quiet fans, then it's a no no. A touch screen would be nice as well.

Having it be lightweight is super important. More so than its ability to play games. Preferably under 3 lbs.

I'm super happy with this laptop. The batter life is excellent, the screen size is just right for me and it's light. The display is gorgeous too and the keyboard feels great spacing wise for typing (I have small hands). Haven't had any issues with bugs or anything like that

The Enter key is SO soft and mushy and I've noticed many of the keys, like the pair of Space bars, are also soft and don't register contact multiple times. VERY frustrating as I can type around 50 wpm and I'm having to Backspace WAY too much! GRR!. I want to send this POS back and try another brand, but I've found no other alternatives in my searches.

 It might be marginally but use it for a couple hours and it's going to need a charge. I wouldn't recommend this for students. Having 2 classes in row will mean you're looking to sit near a plug in class to keep it charged. You can dim the screen down but that's not always possible when you're in a bright classroom

 My old model, with a card slot, I routinely swapped out cards depending on my usage. I was hoping the battery life was some improved. It might be marginally but use it for a couple hours and it's going to need a charge. I wouldn't recommend this for students

Good but with some disappointments.

We did not open the shrink wrap as there was no indication of a keyboard. Be aware of false depictions of keyboard included even in the video. Otherwise, the product should be ok if you want a tablet, not a PC.
