GoRuck GR1 vs vertx EDC gamut

This backpack by Osprey is very well made but keep in mind this is a laptop backpack. It’s not going to take a lot and I am quite disappointed with the size. It’s long but thin. Zipper doesn’t go all around because of the bottle pocket will not allow for this

There is no way to tighten it so hold the laptop in place. Had a P50 in it, it would rock back and forth whenever I walk. What a bummer.

See the photo. This dramatically reduces the bottle size you can accommodate. A standard 32oz Nalgene bottle won't fit even with the admin pocket entirely empty and the drawstring fully opened. I am seriously considering cutting the entire thing out with a razor and then hitting the fabric with seam tape

This is also very comfortable when worn, as the shoulder straps and back of the bag are very well-padded. • Durability: As noted, this is well-padded and made of a solid polyester fabric material. As I intend to wear this for walks to/from the office and daytrips, I believe this should hold up just fine. In summary, I love the color and comfort

I ordered a few other bags and returned them until I decided on this one. It’s phenomenal. Great bag. Super comfortable

I imagine the carabiner on the right shoulder strap could come in handy to secure it to a chair or stroller when out in public and not wearing it on my back.

Well i Purchased this because i have been looking for a new backpack. It was bada** not gonna lie the thing held up great for 2 weeks, then all of a sudden snap. An unfixable piece of the strap broke and now i cant use it. I am giving this a 2 star because it’t have broken also i didnt even have heavy things in my bag

Water resistant material, great ergonomics and spaces/pockets inside. Feels good on the back too. Best money I've ever spent on a bag.

However, when I tried to transfer the contents of the Maxpedition to the Gamut, they didn’t all fit. The main problem seemed to be that, while taller, the Gamut’s compartments were somewhat shallow front to back and it was more of a challenge to pack everything into it. The front “admin” compartment was also pretty useless as it was very flat and there was very little space. The side pockets were very limited too
