 0% loss at 10 Mbps, 0.001% 150 Mbps, 0.01% at 940 Mbps. This was in my current setup using mostly new coaxial over 50 ft long

 However I am very satisfied with my current goCoax devices and performance. --------- This product isn't quite turn key, but once configured and tested it is amazing. The devices really can transmit at 900+ Mbps over non-ideal coaxial cable. The latency is very low

 Afterwards I replaced my cat5e ethernet cables with cat8 and saw a minor improvement.  The devices have been reliable. I can't completely explain why I am see better results now - perhaps a reboot/update to my router.  Still leaving a 4 star instead of 5 since I had one device with more drops that was replaced

  So in summary, these devices are great. But be prepared to test them yourself. Be prepared to have a couple tries on splitter, filters, and wiring setups before you get it right! But it is worth it.

Great devices - But the devil is in the details

 So what I do is I have one down by my router, and I have it plugged into that, and then I plug the router one into my cable TV wiring in my equipment closet, and then for every room where I want to add an extension, I just get another box and plug into the cable jack in that room. And what these do is allow you to continue using your TV service. So if you've got your cable box plugged into the wall, you take that wire out of the wall, and you put it in here where it says TV, and then you connect the wall to the spot here that says Mocha, and then your connection is made. And if you are just looking for a simple connection, you're done

 And it looks like they're communicating encrypted at the same data rate as before, but we're going to put this to the test now and run another speed test and see what these encrypted speeds look like. So after enabling encryption, we ran both tests again, and we didn't see any difference in performance, including the multi-computer test that we ran to measure the total amount of backbone bandwidth. So it looks like there is no performance penalty for enabling the encryption. So that's going to do it for this look at the GoCoax Mocha 2

 Now for most people, that's going to be fine, but you will not be able to get the full speed of the adapter to each client. The speed is going to be shared by all the adapters in the house. So if you do have clients that are frequently sending large files to each other, you could have more people doing that at the same time on your network than you would with the prior generation Mocha, because now you've got two and a half gigabits versus just one gigabit, and that will allow more data to be transited across your network at the same time over the coax. But all of these devices on your network share that two and a half gigabits, but having that greater backbone, I think, for some instances, will be a very big improvement

  My iperf3 speeds between hosts when I only had two of these hooked up on the MoCA network were the same as when it was 2x ECB6200s and 1x Motorola NM-1000 - I tested the two GoCoax 2.5 adapters by themselves because I was concerned about one of the devices limiting the network speed, so that shouldn't be the issue. Speeds were consistently around 850Mbps between hosts on my LAN for all MoCA devices, whereas my 1Gbps ethernet line speed w/ cat6 is 940Mbps. It's still definitely close enough for me to be happy! So, basically I wouldn't recommend upgrading for a speed increase until GoCoax starts using a faster ethernet standard (e

I'm able to game and stream on my moca connection just fine. it's faster than powerline and more stable. definitely worth the extra money over powerline adapters, go for this instead

Now that I work from home full time, I'm wondering if I should re-architect my home network to put my work devices on a separate VLAN from my personal stuff (probably makes me sound quite paranoid, but oh well). I know my router doesn't support that with the native firmware, so I would have to flash a different firmware if I want to stick with what I have.

I recently got a speed upgrade from Comcast that brings my download speeds beyond what my current cable modem (NETGEAR CM500), though my current speed is certainly still more than fast enough. I can't get fiber at my apartment building though sadly. I have the modem paired with an ASUS RT-AC86U router currently. The CM500 does get a bit warm though I will say, so that's partly why I've been looking at it as a potential upgrade opportunity

It took three days and calls to Xfinity, Lynksys and NetGear (all with long waits on hold) before the NetGear tech I spoke figured out why I was still only getting 100Mbps download speeds.  From my understanding this Modem can support 300 Mbps down over cable lines per the manufacturer spec. I'd hate to buy a new modem and have no luck with it either.

 we turned it on for the first time on May 31st, and it failed yesterday, July 9th. Netgear normally makes fantastic devices, our AC3200 Netgear Nighthawk router has served us well for four years. eventually we'll have to buy a new one but four years is a long time for a router and I attribute its longevity and ability to handle massive amounts of traffic for four years straight to its superior technology and build. I highly recommend the Nighthawk routers, they are great

 2. Once I had modem connected to coax and called Comcast to initiate the connection, the second-to-bottom internet connection light (the one that looks a bit like Saturn) would still not turn on. After hanging up, much cursing to my partner about telecom monopolies, and about 20 minutes of just leaving it alone, I noticed the connection finally activated by itself (the Comcast person didn’t tell me there could be such a lag.) Shout out to the excellent Netgear customer service guy who helped me figure out the coax thing :)
