 You do get some troubleshooting LEDs, these are totally redundant because, you know, there is a postcode, just learn to read the postcode, it'll make your life a lot better if you do a lot of overclocking. And then there's this button down here, and that is not QFlash, because QFlash is over here, that's the button that allows you to update the BIOS of the motherboard without even having a compatible CPU. This on the other hand is Gigabyte's Rebindable Reset Switch, literally my favourite feature about their Z590 motherboards, because you can rebind that button to be like an RGB on off switch, a regular reset switch, a go-to BIOS switch, and it can also act as a safeboot button. Now, on the early release BIOSes that I was using, or the pre-release BIOSes I was using, that button hasn't actually worked as a safeboot button at all, but they had this working on Z590, and I don't see any reason that they can't get it working on Z690, because Z690 doesn't have its own built-in automatic recovery system, unlike AMD motherboards, which is why safeboot doesn't work on AMD motherboards ever, whereas on Intel it's just a matter of getting the BIOS set up so that it works properly

 Anyway, oh, I guess I could have also mentioned that Gigabyte is still using solid pin power connectors, so you don't need to worry about plugging in the extra 4-pin unless you're really hammering a 12900K, right? The 8-pin alone is more than enough power delivery, like, I've been doing all of my testing with just one 8-pin because there's just no point plugging in the extra power connector, it doesn't make a difference. The 24-pin is also all solid pins, so, yeah, you don't have to, like, so it can, like, it's the, like, that's the high-current flavour of the power connectors for a motherboard is what the solid pins are. And, yeah, that's the, I think I went through everything in my notes. Oh, I guess I could have mentioned that the memory, so there is, like, a memory power rail on the motherboard still, even though DDR5 has its own

 They've added a postcode to the Z690 Aorus Pro, making it the cheapest motherboard on Z690 with a postcode, because this thing is at $330, and the next motherboard I'm aware of that comes with a postcode is $400. So yeah, congratulations Gigabyte. This is like, I love postcodes, a lot. Like to the extent that I've literally recommended the ASRock B550 Steel Legend, pretty much just on the basis that it has a postcode

mobo PCB Breakdown: Gigabyte Z690 Aorus Pro // The GOTO Overclocking board

 Because while the Z690 Pro uses the same 16 plus 1 plus 2 power phase configuration like the Z690 Elite, however unlike the power phases on that board which operate at 60A, the ones here operate at up to 90A. So even though both boards have 16 power phases going to the CPU, this board will be a lot better when it comes to overclocking, and also supporting much more power hungry CPUs like the 1200K and the alleged 1200KS which is apparently coming soon. And if you want to learn more about that mysterious ship, then definitely check out my video on it, it's going to be up in the iCards. But another interesting thing is that they refuse to move on from a 8 plus 4 pin setup when it comes to CPU power

 Anyway, apart from all of that, the other key difference is when it comes to memory. Because while the Elite board claims to support memory of up to 6000MHz on the DDR5 side, the Z690 Aorus Pro promises to support XMP profiles going as far as 6200MHz, or yes, megatransfers because I know I'm going to have at least one comment correcting me on that. So at least on this board, you do have the peace of mind that if you want to use that kind of lightning fast DDR5 memory that goes to 6200MHz or beyond, well things should be a lot more stable here. So that's pretty much all the things you should care about

 Another thing that is killed off on this board just to squeeze in more USB is the HDMI port for integrated graphics. With integrated graphics becoming less and less awful, and with more people having to use integrated graphics because of the GPU shortages, having these options is extremely important. So it's super disappointing that it's scrapped here. But hey, at least we have integrated WiFi, that makes it all worth it, right? Right? Yeah, it totally doesn't make it worth it

WILL YOU REGRET BUYING THIS Z690 MOTHERBOARD?! Gigabyte Z690 Aorus Pro

in the end i went with a Z690 Aorus Elite AX DDR4 and my old 64GB of Crucial 3600 @ 15-17-17-34-CR1 Latency is 47ns i set vccsa to 0.95v and its rock solid. I need to pickup a lotes lga1700 mount though as the one that comes with the elite mounts the cpu nowhere near as level as the lotes one that came with the master so it hits tjmax at just over 300w of synthetic load.

I built a new Alder Lake system at the beginning of the year and I have been having off and on problems with games crashing, blue screens, etc.

I narrowed down some of these problems to a bad Nvidia driver and rolled back appropriately. Everything seemed good until I tried to play a more CPU/memory intensive game and I got more “MEMORY_MANAGEMENT” blue screen crashes again. 

So I got the feeling that it was the memory that was the issue. I bought GSkill Trident Z5 for this build. Supposedly it’s 5600 MHz with 36-36-36-76 timings. When I built the system I simply updated the mobo BIOS, set the XMP II profile and let it be. I did not fiddle with voltages or any other settings. 

I sat down just earlier to run a MemTest through the Asus UEFI options/features. The test loads up and it says the memory is 4800 speed with 40-40-40-77 timings. I haven’t let the test run for long enough yet but I will be monitoring it for any errors. Planning on letting it run for the recommended 8 hours. 

But what gives? Would they seriously have sold me RAM at a falsely advertised speed? Depending on the results I guess I’ll be doing an RMA on the memory. Any thoughts?

DDR5 with false advertised speeds?

Hi, I'm upgrading my PC for the Intel i7 12th gen. I was searching for a compatibile motherboard, and I've found the Gigabyte Z690 Aorus Pro, which seemed pretty good (I like the wifi and bluetooth support, the cooling stuff and the debug display) with the DDR4 memory support.

 I'm definitely more of a gamer than a creative (though I do dabble there) but generally a mobo doesn't factor into that as much, beyond ports. So when upgrading to an i9-10850k due to good sales, I pulled the trigger on this Vision G board as it was gorgeous and seemed full featured for the price. And now I'm exchanging it.  The main issues here, which aren't mentioned anywhere on Amazon, and I found hard to find even on Gigabyte's page is that the m

 But I discount that slightly as this seems to be a common thing with z590 boards. Its not just this board/Gigabyte, and I have 3 other ports, so it should be fine right? Well, wrong. Purely by design decisions from Gigabyte if either of the middle two(2) m.2 slots are in use then your x16 PCIe slot is cut in half to x8

I'd maybe have liked more features to control them from Gigabyte's app, but honestly even though I would like that, they are generally just bars of light so its fine.  The board, and Gigabyte's BIOS also was good for my CPU's performance. The 10850k's base clock is 3.6Ghz with an overclock boost limit reported at 5.2Ghz (and that's confirmed to be highest stable I've found)

Gorgeous Mobo But Bad Design at it's Core

 If I wanted to used XMP I could only use one stick of 16 GB. Frustratingly the latest BIOS update from Gigabyte was literally for the EXACT Gskill RAM I had, and it didn't effin work. DO NOT BUY THIS BOARD IF YOU ARE USING DDR 5 RAM. There are hours of my life that I want back

 I could only use RAM slots B1 & B2. This of course is a non-optimal pairing, but what can you do.  I am going lay this out really clearly, none of these boards seems to be handling the new DDR5 ram. Read all the reviews you want on youtube or Tom's hardware, none of them will mention this

Don buy if you are using DDR 5 RAM

Skill Trident Z5 RGB DDR5 series and the default frequency was 4800 without overclocking. I have so far managed to overclock the memory to 5800 without issue using Gigabyte easytune application. You can also use bios to overclock pretty easily. 6200 frequency was crashing, 6000 might be the sweet spot

Worked without any issues. Using this board with the G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB DDR5 series and the default frequency was 4800 without overclocking. I have so far managed to overclock the memory to 5800 without issue using Gigabyte easytune application

There's a BIOS flashback BIOS flashback bus and hiding right behind the I think USB ports over here so you can update the bios of the motherboard with just an 8 pin power connector and a 24 pin plug it in. No CPU No ram no GPU no nothing. just just a USB Stick with the right file format and a file with the right file name

 Well like let's just put it this way that can handle 384 watts. You don't need this at all, especially on a motherboard of this caliber. Like if you overload that 8 pin, the Vrm is already going to be gone. Yeah like this Vrm is gonna be gone by the time you overload that 8 pin

Sub-$200 MSI X570 Gaming Plus Motherboard Analysis

MSI MPG X570 Gaming Plus/ AMD 5600x/ Corsair 32GB 3000MHz C15/ Vetroo V5 CPU cooler. Cinebench R23 multicore  Rendering 11221 pts. CPU steady @ 66C.

I'm using a 5600x with the stocker cooler but it's just straight ass sitting at 65c idle and goes up to 95c in games. If you're using a aftermarket cooler and could share ur temps that would be appreciated.

I assembled my PC and it would not boot. My motherboard indicates a CPU error. So, I returned the CPU, assuming it was defective. I still got the same error. So, I returned the motherboard, assuming it was defective. Unfortunately, when I rebuilt everything, I received the same error.

<p>I feel like I&#39;ve wasted so much time on this impossible task. If I sell my parts, will I even make back a fraction of what I paid?</p>

<p>edit: I fixed the error light for the CPU and attempted to flash the new BIOS using the &quot;flash BIOS&quot; button. However, now the CPU light is back on. Whenever the light is on, I notice the fan is going at max speed. Where should I go from here? It seems weird that a CPU error would be triggered by me hitting attempting to flash the BIOS</p>

I am ready to give up. Nobody on here has been able to figure out my problem and I feel totally hopeless

 (Old Vishera 8350 OCed to 4.4GHz built it in 90 minutes.)  But I really have no complaints, only a couple things to note. BIOS could be a little friendlier

 But then, with all fans being 120mm-140mm, the BIOS may do a fine job controlling them. Even the little chipset fan isn't really audible (in olden days, one or two would get my ears ringing after a few minutes).  Had been using other brand mboards since the late '90s (GigaByte, Asus). But MSI's been getting much better ratings lately so I decided to give them a go

Needed a better dekstop. This mboard, Ryzen 3950x, Noctua NH-D15 cooler, 32GiB GSkill RAM, and Sabrent NVME drive I'm about to test. (Still using a bunch of Hitachi/Toshiba 1TB rotating drives for most of my data). Put it all together in my Antec 302 case with Corsair RM750x P/S, plugged it in

Don't rush assembly, and don't panic; it could still be PEBCAK.
