Gigabyte’s Aero series laptops have been my go-to for a few years for people that do a mixture of content creation and gaming, so let’s check out the differences in the new 2021 Aero 15 and see what improvements have been made.. Despite Living in Australia, I buy from Newegg in the US all the time as they've got such an extensive range of products

 The laptop alone weighs just over 2.2kg or 4.9lb, or around 3.2kg or 7lb with the 230 watt brick and cables

 Like Previous Aero models, unfortunately, secondary key functions are not illuminated, I Really hope this is something they improve for the upcoming 11th gen version. What I Found interesting here was that it’s still outperforming the similar wattage 3080 in the XMG Pro 17 just below it with the same processor, So just goes to show that in some games the difference between a 3070 and 3080 isn’t going to be worth the extra price, it all comes down to the power limits. I’ve also tested the Aero in 14 different games in this video over here,, so check that one out if you want to get a better idea of how this laptop performs in games.

 Now For the benchmarking tools,, I’ve tested Heaven, Valley, and Superposition from Unigine, as well as Firestrike, Timespy and Port Royal from 3DMark,. Just pause the video if you want a detailed look at these results. Adobe Premiere was tested with the Puget Systems benchmark. They Recently updated this test, so results are not comparable to my previous videos, and as a result I’ve got less data to show, but out of the laptop selection, I have tested it’s doing alright, granted performance is in between two 4800H plus 1660 Ti machines

The Best Laptop For Content Creators & Gamers - Aero 15 Review

All in all, the Aero is a decent option for you if you’re looking for a powerful OLED laptop with lots of pizzazz. But its downsides — particularly the battery life and the nosecam — are significant, and it’s worth considering whether you’ll be taking full advantage of the chips and the 4K OLED in return. 

The performance I saw here wasn’t a massive upgrade from the previous Aero 15, but it’s still some of the best gaming and productivity performance that you’ll find among laptops of this size. The 60Hz screen means you won’t be able to see the impressive frame rates the new hardware is capable of, so many gamers may get a better experience out of a device with a higher refresh rate screen. But if you’ve got your eye on an OLED screen, either because you’re doing color work on the side or you just want your games and movies to look great, this device should get the job done (albeit in a loud and hot manner). 

 That’s one of the highest scores I’ve ever seen from a test unit, and it blows away the competition, soundly beating the Zephyrus G15, the Blade 15, and the Aorus 15G, as well as the Aero XB with an RTX 2070 Super Max-Q. It’s more than twice the score we’ve seen from the Dell XPS 15. 

Getting straight to the gaming: Red Dead Redemption 2 averaged 80fps on the ultra preset in 1080p, dropping to 37fps in 4K. With all sliders manually maxed, I had to drop to the medium preset in order to get a playable 4K frame rate of 46fps. Shadow of the Tomb Raider ran at 104fps in 1080p with ray tracing off and 81fps with ray tracing on, dropping to 48fps and 29fps, respectively, in 4K. (With DLSS on, 52fps and 38fps)

Gigabyte Aero 15 OLED XD review: powerful, pricey, and flawed

 Now the 4k OLED models start at $1,700 and for that you get a 9 Gen Core I7 6 core processor, 8 gigabytes of RAM at 256, KB by Nvme SSD and a Gtx 1660 TI. The model that I have over here comes with a Kora 998, a Th K-8 core, 16 thread CPU 16 gigabytes of RAM and dual channel mode, a 512 gigabyte Nbme Drive and an R/t X 2070 max-q GPU and it costs $3,000 Just just let that sink in for a moment because it's not cheap. it's it's expensive. But I'm glad that they're actually giving users the option to configure these notebooks to whatever they like all the way up to 20 80 max-q if you really want that way

 Honestly, I think I'm gonna stick with a 1080p panel because I Love the fluidity and the responsive and the refresh rate in general of the screen. It's still a very color accurate display. I can comfortably edit videos on it I Don't think I can you go wrong with a 1080p panel in the first place? And the biggest limiting factor for me with a 4k display is the refresh rate. at 60 Hertz it is a bit limiting, especially coming from a high refresh rate screen

 Nothing out there seemed to have the power, as well as the feature set I was really looking for. Well, color me very Impressed! This machine is very well constructed, light, and equipped with Intel's latest 9th gen, hexacore processor, as well as the RTX 2060, 512GB NVME drive, and 16GB of dual channel memory, with a second NVME slot in a very easy to upgrade configuration: no "upside down" motherboard designs here! PLUS, it has Thunderbolt 3 port, RJ-45 port should you opt for a wired connection, SD Card Reader, and all of the usual ports available: USB3.1, HDMI. So its loaded with the options one could take advantage of

 Its very powerful, and any time you stuff a hexacore processor into a thin and light ( emphasizing this again!), heat may become an issue, however it never stopped me from having fun with many of the AAA games I play, not cramped my style doing some Premiere rendering and editing...

.and FAST! All at well under 5#. Definitely worth your consideration, especially with that gorgeous 15" OLED screen: same one that all the other laptop makers are using in their OLED offerings. Picked up the additional warranty as well

 Oh, havent mentioned the 15" OLED screen! Stunning! Color acccurate, perfect for content creators who require color accuracy. And, games look very good as well. You can always go from 4K, to 1920x1080 for your games and get potentially higher frame rates, and although this display is locked at 60hz, having the game have a potential frame rate at well over that, only improves the view at 60 hz. In short, this laptop gives you a lot of value for your money, and is one of the only 15", thin and light laptops that has the array of options and ports that are actually useful, and that should come on a laptop in its price range

  I'll probably forget to update this review down the line if my feelings change, but if it's anything like the last laptop I had, I'll probably bump it up a star or two based on longevity.

 The cool thing about it is that it charges very quickly.  Wifi works fine and it comes with a ethernet cord slot when you need it. Video quality is good and refresh rate is adequate.  Form Factor is strange as the GTX 1660ti pushes past the hinge of the screen, so you have the fans and video components jut out about an inch from where the base of the screen rests

Not a big deal, but definitely different than other laptops.  This thing runs pretty hot, and the speakers are on the underside of the machine, if that matters to you

Nice Entry-level Gaming Laptop with "meh" Battery Life and Annoying Lenovo Bloatware Installed

 The right USB does this less so I use that one. I haven't done any heavy gaming yet so I can't attest to its performance there yet, but so far the airflow during heavy usage seems good and the keyboard is very decent. Also, the webcam has a built-in manual slider to block/unblock it which was a cool bonus.

Great overall. Cons are battery(duh) and mine has mic jack static

He’s all set up with a desktop and loves it, and I want the portability of a laptop. I’m a software eng but new to pc gaming. I read all of your input and it seems the Lenovo legion 5 pro may be the way to go.

  I highly recommend this gaming laptop from Lenovo for all your gaming needs! Make sure to get the 144HZ display with 300+ nits of brightness and not the cheaper 120HZ one. The color accuracy on the 120hz display is absolutely terrible covering only 45% SRGB and is very washed out.
