As with most high-quality chest straps, the HRM-Run is soft and flexible. The inside front of the strap, the part that touches your skin at the rib cage, has a thin rubber-like plastic; it's the part that reads your heart rate. The rest of the strap is covered by a stretchy nylon fabric.

 Right off the bat. my uh, just for my first set, I've already exceeded the 148 max beats per minute that I got for running with the Just with the Garmin Watch. So right there we can see an improvement. This is definitely more accurate just by doing one set jump into the second set 166 beats per minute

 But now let's get to the hardest activity for an optical heart rate sensor, and that's going to be weight training. So what we can see is that the 2.0 did pretty darn well, although not perfect. I love the idea of a chest-strap free heart rate monitor and this seems to be a popular one, so I purchased it to replace an old Garmin chest strap. I had no trouble connecting it to a Suunto Ambit3 Peak watch. I'm rail thin and could not get a reading at all when attaching to my forearm but have had success when attached around my upper arm. I figured this was an issue with buildup of sweat and dirt on the charging terminals causing it not to charge properly. I cleaned them as per the tech support instructions and attempted to charge the unit again, but still believe it not to be charging properly

 No luck. Their warranty is 12m. I haven't found a better product but the life sucks and probably explains the length of the warranty. Am about to look for an alternative to this as I think they should last longer for something doing what this does for better part of a c-note

Last about a year and a half

23 months in, I'm having some trouble with mine. Compared to previous chest straps I've had, that's pretty par.  It doesn't respond to interference from power lines or clothes flapping in dry air, so that's nice. Getting it positioned right can take a little trial and error, but that's true of chest straps too

 Very easy to use and I love that I can change the bands while the other is being washed. I workout everyday and have not had to charge it as yet. Very pleased! Just found that the mobile app should be more user friendly.
