Machine is not too loud and has decent selections for the first time setup. I only hope the brewing mechanism and water pump hold out. Good Machine

I decided to go with the Anima as a 'replacement' as WLL had a sale on so it only cost another $75 and it is way better looking, narrower and most of all, it will take a taller cup under the spout.

Great machine, great company.

 I thought the design of the machine and the firmware was quite good. It's hard to beat this device for convenience but I did find a machine that makes a better cappuccino, the Breville Barista Express BES870XL.  The Breville took a few tries to dial in the grind, dose, and tamping pressure, but the final result was a couple of steps up in aroma and taste from this Gaggia machine. The frothing attachment is far superior on the Breville once you get the technique down

 I could produce a really thick foam with minimum dilution. Plus I was able to walk into Bed, Bath, and Beyond and get one that wasn't damaged. Turns out that although it was about $30 more than Amazon, BB&B offers a 1-year money-back, no questions asked warranty, just keep your receipt and bring it back to the store. I might have to try the brick and mortar approach more often on large appliances

Good but not Great Cappuccino

Had to replace my Gaggia Titanium when it literally began to fall apart. After a lot of research decided to go with the Anima. Could not believe the taste this machine extracts for delicious lungos and espresso. Took a little time to practice with the steam wand for cappuccinos and lattes but it was well worth it

 You'll find that what you can make in your jammies at home is superior to what you can buy at coffee shops.

 A knurled metal finish would have made a world of difference here. Appearance is of course completely subjective, but I feel like I need to share my experience with this particular machine. Looking at the photos online and when I first unboxed it, I wasn't a huge fan of the very classic boxy appearance. But each time I went into my kitchen and looked at it, it started to grow on me, especially I think thanks to this dark blue color that I purchased it in

 Both are made from a light and shiny plastic material that detracts from the otherwise premium feel of this machine.  Here's what I mean by that. Once dialed in, the Gaggia Classic Pro was able to easily and consistently repeat the same shot time after time. A quick purge of the group resulted in consistent temperatures from shot to shot, and overall it was just a more commercial feeling experience than other machines I've tested in this price range. With that being said, it would be irresponsible of me to talk about the performance in this way without mentioning the caveat that the performance will be directly linked to the quality of the espresso grinder you choose to pair with it

 Consumer-focused brands like Breville are a pretty safe bet, but with a little bit of research,

 it's possible to get better quality and performance for your money,

 One of the names most commonly brought up in this discussion is Gaggia.

 So today, we take a look at the Gaggia Classic and see if it can make proud

 Starting off with build quality and finishing,

 it's immediately clear that this unit is built to last.

 The main chassis is an impressive piece of manufacturing being made of one single piece
