The X-T3 does just about everything very well. image quality is excellent, with a choice of attractive 'Film Simulation' color modes and detailed, flexible Raw files. This is on top of a well-respected interface which blends traditional dials with a good degree of customization.
The X-T3 does all this while also offering some of the best video we've encountered. It can shoot highly detailed 4K footage at up to 60p with the option for 10-bit capture for maximum grading leeway.  You can continuously autofocus, while filming as I've done here. While I approach this flower using the XF 18 to 55 millimeter and now, thanks to the touchscreen, you can tap to pull focus while filming again here with the XF 18 to 55. As you can see, the focus pulling is still alive, hesitant compared to Canon and Sony, but I'd say, there's much less breathing once it settles on the target. If you're interested in grading, here's a clip I made in a flop and you can download the original file from ext3 reviewer camera ops comm, where you'll also find all my sample images

 The XT 3 has become one of the most capable movie cameras around it'll, film, 4k uhd or DCI at 24 to 60 P, yes, 60 P in camera. So far, something only panasonic has offered at this level switch the compression from h.264 to the thoroughly modern h.265

 A bunch of these images are committed to memory as well as those following allowing you to effectively capture the moments before and after you press the button. Here'S a sequence I captured a fellow camera journalist, John Devo, who I asked to jump the instant I pushed the shutter release all the way down, see how, in the 20 frames per second mode, I've captured a bunch of images prior to the jump we've seen this Feature before on Panasonic's cameras, but it remains really useful, particularly for capturing the moment. A bird or John here takes flight. The XT 3 might boast a bunch of auto focus of Gray's, but Fujifilm has also had some fun with the manual focus assistance which, in addition to peaking and split image options of previous models, now includes a new digital micro prism mode, which simulates the ground glass View finders of old film SLRs, I'm not sure, I'd personally use it over peaking, but it's a fun option for a company that won't seem to view video is some suspicion

 The Fujifilm xt 3 may look a lot like the xt 2 from the outside, but in your hands it represents a significant upgrade. The new x-trans 4 sensor may only offer a mild boost in resolution, but sports improved image quality as well as hugely enhanced, auto, focusing and movie capabilities, there's confident, phase detection autofocus across the entire frame and 4k video up to 60 P and 10 bit internally seriously. Impressive features for a system which was not known for to focus or video in earlier generations, but shooting has also improved with 11 frames % mechanical or up to 20 frames per second using the electronic shutter booster ball 30 frames per second with a minor crop and All work well with continuous autofocus, there's a fun pre burst mode to capture moments. Before and after pushing the shutter a more detailed view

Fujifilm X-T3 review first looks - my favourite X body upgraded!

 If you turn on Silent Control, you'll adjust settings via an on-screen menu. It saves frame rate, f-stop, ISO, and film simulation modes which are dedicated to video, so you can quickly switch between still and video capture without having to reconfigure your controls for the different mediums.

Video is available at 4K DCI quality at up to 60fps, a first for an APS-C sensor camera. The X-T3 records 4:2:0 10-bit footage internally to a memory card at up to 400Mbps, and can send out a clean HDMI signal at 4:2:2 10-bit to an external recording device. A flat F-Log profile is available for either recording mode, and you can also apply film looks (including the cinematic Eterna) to video. A firmware update, coming later this year, will support simultaneous recording to both a memory card and external recorder, something the camera cannot do as of this writing

I converted Raw test images using a beta version of the Adobe DNG Converter, and processed our ISO test images in Lightroom Classic CC. At low ISOs there is nothing to complain about. Image detail holds up well through ISO 3200, and images shot at or below that setting don't show overwhelming noise.

The X-T3's big new feature is its autofocus system. It can fire at a brisk 11fps with its mechanical shutter and 20fps using its silent electronic shutter, both with subject tracking and at full 26MP resolution. Fujifilm has expanded the phase detection focus area to cover nearly the entirety of the image sensor, where it was limited to just the central area in the X-T2 and X-H1. There are a total of 2

 If you're using a manual focus lens, it's actually really convenient for focusing because you can still see the whole image, but you can also make sure that you're getting critical focus. So the continuous autofocus on this camera is pretty great. I'm using it right now on the Zeiss Plan R 32 millimeter 1.8 twit lens

 It's very, very good. It's the best autofocusing camera that I've ever had. If you're worried about getting this camera because it doesn't have dual pixel autofocus, I wouldn't be too worried because it's actually pretty, it's pretty great. So I think what puts the X-T3 out ahead of the pack is that it's an amazing hybrid camera

 Is the world making you feel like you really need a full-frame camera? I'm going to give you one reason why you don't need one. So the Fuji X-T3 is one of the best value cameras that you can buy on the market today. It comes in at around $1,500, and in my opinion, it's one of the best cameras you can buy, period. Not only is this camera an unbelievable photo machine, it tops most cameras in terms of video specs as well

Fuji X-T3:  BYE BYE FULL FRAME.

 Much like the Sony's can means you can compose your frame. However, you want have the face in the shot and know that the pupil should be where the target is now, if you're doing some more intense stuff, like sports or action, or even just very simple family stuff, like kids running around in the house very quickly, we Found that the sony in our opinion does have a slightly higher hit rate, but the Fuji does a great job, real downside on the Fuji XT 3. For I detect autofocus. It doesn't work with dead mouse all right so for this next part, I'm coming to you from inside a recording booth, because you know the National Music Center has got a lot of music playing, and this is a good example of just the audio tone that you're Gon na get we like to record on road filmmaker allows just with the stock microphone and riot coat under covers, but we often have to record either with Panasonic, which has its own great preamps or with other cameras into external recorders, and that's a real pain

 This is dropping the bass ISO from 200 down to 160. So we are finding an improvement, albeit a small one. In dynamic range, okay, you're getting that third stop evey improvement. However, oddly enough, when you get up to the higher ISO C and as approach 6400 and beyond, as we've said, we find that you actually lose some of that dynamic range compared to the older sensor

 First, I want to talk about this when you use electronic shutter. It'S all good depend on how fast your sensor scans, whether you're gon na get a nice natural semblance of motion in those verticals or weird bendy stuff, and, as you can see here, I shot an electronic shutter. Five hundredth of a second and Jordans drumsticks are very well controlled. You see a little bit of movement, but as cameras go, this is exceptionally good

 If you use the silent movie controls on this, if you're shooting video, you can set the exposure with the touch screen now, I'm not a huge fan of how those actually operate. I find it's a little cumbersome to use the touch screen to set things like your exposure, but once you jump back to photo mode all those physical dials are still going to retain their settings, so that makes it really easy for you to have a nice, slow, Shutter speed for video and not have it completely screw up your photo settings looking at the quality coming out of the xt3, whether you're shooting 24, 30 or 60 frames per second, I found it's very clean, very sharp image that doesn't look over sharpened. I also really like the quality of the 120 frame per second. Now, it's not quite as sharp as your standard frame rate 1080, but by super sampling slightly

 And having phase-detect AF across the entire viewfinder is a huge help, eliminating any pressure to keep your subject somewhat centered. 

 It’s the one missing ingredient here that would truly put this camera over the top. But I’m not sure how Fujifilm could’ve crammed it in without compromising the X-T3’s appealing design. Battery life is just slightly improved over the X-T2, so I’m firmly locked in the habit of shutting the camera off whenever I don’t need it and am almost always carrying a spare. (The camera will annoyingly nag you every time it’s switched on if you’re using anything besides the company’s $65 W126S battery, so be forewarned if you’re considering cheaper off-brand alternatives

 The downside is that the camera isn’t great at handling multiple people in the same shot — you can’t choose which face to focus on — but this seems like something Fujifilm can iron out with firmware updates. These leaps in high-speed shooting and AF performance are enabled by the X-Processor 4, which is three times faster than the chip powering Fuji’s previous generation. Even Fujifilm’s sometimes-sluggish f/1.4 primes have gotten a shot in the arm and seem to lock focus faster on the X-T3

 It’s an admittedly minor tweak, but it shows Fujifilm is listening to the photographers who are using its gear. The same goes for the diopter that now locks to prevent your electronic viewfinder from suddenly going blurry. That EVF has been extended out a bit to keep your nose from constantly smushing up against the rear display. 

It’s just as good at 4K video as it is at still photography

I just purchased a used X-T3 with 18-55mm f2.8-4 kit lens on eBay. It did not come with an OEM battery, but it has worked fine. No problems

 The lens firmware is up to date. Still the same message pops up - but only when the 35mm lens is attached. NOT the kit lens. 

New Fuji user needs some troubleshooting help

and while not necessary, the weather protection is a really handy feature, because I'm less worried about my gear if it starts raining/snowing, or I'm hiking in a dusty environment.

personally, I would go with the X-T3, it is more in line with what I want in a camera. My hands are a bit on the larger side, so I enjoy the bigger size which makes it easier to hold and handle,  for that same reason I like the added weight as well. When cameras are too light I find my hands aren't as steady if I'm shooting really slow shutter speeds. 

Hello, after religiously reading every post about the XT30 and XT3 on this subreddit plus online I really would like some advice.

I was planning on getting a Brand new XT30 because it's in my budget range but I found a used XT3 for the same price (5500\~ clicks). Buying a second hand camera makes me quite very nervous (I even had a bad dream about it today)  because it will be my first expensive professional camera ever and I am super scared that something is wrong/will go wrong with it plus it will be lacking a warranty. I am planning on filming lots of videos but also taking many pictures. 

I noticed that the XT3 is 40% heavier than the XT30 ( 383 vs 539) and it is larger so that is also a consideration. 

On the other hand the XT3 does have weatherproof (even though I'm not planning on doing any extreme stuff with it) .

I know at the end of the day I will need to make the final choice but I would really appreciate advice!

My worry gut is telling me buy a a NEW XT30 so I don't need to worry about it but a "get more what you pay" for is telling me USED XT3.

What should I get the a second hand Fuji XT3 or XT30?

 I am learning photography but i would say its a bit expensive for amateurs/learners - i absolutely love the viewfinder, as i had seen other competitors’ as well. Got 2 memory card slots, so thats nice. Yet to click and learn settings but whatever i clicked so far was damn good! Waiting for some good weather to go out!! Just a tip : Do not get mixed up in full frame vs crop. If you are tyring to : means u really do not know much about photography

 Lens quality is the best i have seen so far in a kit lens. Battery is great but i ordered a spare. I am learning photography but i would say its a bit expensive for amateurs/learners - i absolutely love the viewfinder, as i had seen other competitors’ as well. Next I came across the Panasonic G95 or G85 (They're within $100 of each other). MFT Lens system seems like it has a lot more options to it. The stabilization features seem really nice as well. The weather sealed unit is also attractive as sometimes it may help to be able to record in less-than-ideal weather

 I'd love to be able to take clear close-up shots of flowers, bees, etc. I don't know if this quite defines as 'macro', but ideally I'd be able to take good close-up shots in our apiary or of flowers in our garden. 

I've seen the Canon EOS M50 recommended on other websites and content creators, but I've read a lot of negative feedback about the lens format and locking into something limited. 

 The stabilization features seem really nice as well. The weather sealed unit is also attractive as sometimes it may help to be able to record in less-than-ideal weather. 

Being able to accept an external microphone would be a requirement as is a flip out screen. I am looking at mirrorless right now, since a smaller form factor would make it easier to bring out with me to the field.

Yes, I picked zooms rather than primes, as these are all quite fast lenses and general, and having the flexibility to go from one extreme of the zoom range to the other for different types of shots is very handy. Fujifilm X-T3 would by my non-Panasonic wildcard I'd throw into consideration as well (yes, there is the newer X-T4 you could consider, but for your purposes it sounds like you wouldn't use IBIS much if ever).

Please assist me in choosing a camera and lens for my situation.

I am a medical professional. I am doing the following:

1. Telemedicine consultations and followup visits over Zoom or other similar platform.
   1. My patients are spending 15-60 mins with me via Zoom.
   2. I am trying to provide the best AV experience possible for them.
   3. I am trying to make 95% percentile zoom and youtube video quality in my specific category. I realize cheaper options would work fine but I do want things to look very, very good.
2. Talking head educational Youtube videos with me at a desk. These are education videos for patients. These are released at about one per month.
   1. Videos will be sent out to a professional editor and colorist.
   2. Therefore I’d like to provide them with high quality files to work with (10bit, ProRes or BRAW, etc)
   3. Typically 10-15 mins in length
3. In a home studio with 2 and sometimes three point lighting
   1. Using intellytech litecloth LED panels (or equivalent)
   2. There is a moderate amount of ambient light leakage given the layout of my home.
4. I have a very nice audio chain (mics, preamps, recorders, UA Apollo rig with plugins, etc) which I am pleased with.

**Here is what I want (ideally):**

1. Fantastic mirrorless camera (or box cam, or Camcorder) which will be used mounted in place at my well-lit desk
2. Price for camera body around $2500USD or ideally less.
3. Price for a fast prime lens around $1500USD or ideally less.
4. 4K, 10-bit recording capability or greater (I am creating youtube videos which will be used as patient education for the next 5-10 years, would like to keep video quality high for longevity)
5. shallow depth of field, suitable for talking head/desk videos
6. Continuous face-detect autofocus capabilities suitable for me sitting stationary at a desk
7. Lens recommendation (prefer a fast prime in the 16-28mm range with good continuous face detect autofocus performance)
8. All solutions must be Apple Mac compatible.

**Here is what I do NOT need:**

1. Stills camera
2. Run and gun video
3. Vlogging capabilities
4. Image stabilization
5. Lenses &gt;85mm at the most. I’m just shooting at my desk.
6. Manual focus
7. Weathersealing
8. Good built in audio

**Here is what I’m looking at currently, but open to any recommendations:**

1. Panasonic S5: Looks ideal for my needs other than the lackluster continuous autofocus. However, I’m just sitting at a desk…may be sufficient?
2. Sony A7C: lacks 10 bit output but has good continuous autofocus.
3. Panasonic LUMIX BGH1; I like the remote control capability of the Panasonic desktop and smartphone app. I like the form factor. Like the ability to add a second BGH1 for an alternate view if needed in future. I like the ethernet connection options. Would prefer full frame over 4/3. It seems the BGH1 is using fairly old GH5s tech; is that a concern?
4. Sigma fp L; I am recently interested in this odd camera. I am unsure if its continuous autofocus is sufficient for my needs. Unsure if it will work well for Zoom calls. I do like Sigma for stills and am a big fan of their old Merrill sensors.
5. Sony A7S3; too expensive for my budget at this time. Seems it would be ideal if within my budget.
6. Sony FDRAX700 Camcorder; intriguing to me. I’d only be using it at the wide angle of its zoom range, and the iris and depth of field would not match that of a full frame mirrorless. I am open to camcorders if the right option arises
