I purchased the xt20 with the xf18-55 2.8-4. I have prior fuji experience (xpro1, xs100, xt2) so I am familiar with the menu system, which new users often complain about. I love the small size and image quality, although it is easy to over sharpen in camera raw

Here are a few reactions after my first week with the Fuji: * Wow, I am completely blown away by the image quality coming out of this camera with the 18-55 kit lens (the more expensive one). The images are on par with those I would take with my 5Dii and a very good prime lens. But it's the kit lens! That zooms! See the attached picture. I'm not sure if amazon will reduce the file quality, but if you can zoom in and look at the details, they are perfect

A buddy of mine has a similar setup to this in canon, he has the 6D mk ii with the 24-70ii and we film often together. His setup is nearly 3x the cost of mine and I still prefer the Fuji in a non-professional setting. THE GOOD: The combo of the xt20 and the 18-55 kit lens is stellar. I then tried to use the manual focus but nothing happens, I remembered I had to turn the manual focus option on, so I get into the menu and the focus mode option is greyed out, if I try get into the option an error message "your lens is not supported or its installed incorrectly" shows up, only way to go is to shut camera off and turned it on again, which will return autofocus to work, but if i repeat the exercise it just stops working all over again, sometimes even without crop mode/zoom mode on, just by going from 28 to 70 mm on the lens, or even mid way, maybe 40 mm or 50 mm. Sometimes even the camera would pull me out of menu screen, I would click menu button, I am trying to navigate menu, then you can hear the focus mechanism moving and camera pulls me out of menu screen o regular screen, I have to press menu again, sometimes to be pulled out of the menu repeated times I re installed the lens (white dot with white dot, turn until click noise) golden plates on the lens are clean, did this 3 times, nothing. I called Amazon service, friendly person who quickly contacted me to Sony, and this is the part I did not like. We went through basic things to try and fix the issue, including resetting the camera, after which the issue presented itself quite quickly, so the person at Sony (again, a very friendly and helpful person) told me I needed to send the camera back to Sony for service

Frequently just disconnects, and then there's no way to reconnect without going back to the camera and putting it back into wireless communication mode. I play in a band and wanted to use this to capture video of our sets, with a tablet beside me to stop/start the video. Once we're in the middle of a set, I can't get back up to go reset the camera. It's become clear that the A7C overheats shooting 4K24/4K30 around the 1:20 or 1:30 mark. This is not even recording continuously, it's just having the camera turned on (for CamLink output or b-roll) that long at a time. The auto-focus acts much faster than the X-T1 I used to have, especially within the normal lighting. However the auto-focus has difficult time when I tried close up shooting (Macro mode in X-T1) with the XF 35mm F2 lens. I have to use the manual focus by adjusting the ring of the lens. I found there is an issue when review the photos I took

As far as battery life goes these batteries are not meant to shoot thousands of pics, therefore I would recommend buying a separate battery. I had to change batteries only one day after shooting 400+ pics and taking some videos. Overall, I am very very pleased with this camera and look forward to buying new lenses and continuing to take amazing photos.

I started with Nikon, went to a Canon 5dmkii, have had other canons and also 3 fuji x series cameras Firstly, what kind of company ships a $2000 camera without a battery charger? I get it, it can plug into your computer to charge or car adapter via USB-C. But that means more wear and tear on the USB port which will eventually be loose and then have issues. When I get home I prefer to take my battery out and put it on the charger which will tell me when its charged. Second

I wouldn't really call the lens lightweight at all, and it makes the camera seem very front heavy. It actually made my camera seem just about as heavy as my old canon rebel (with a little 50mm on it). I felt like a bit of an idiot that I didn't even consider how big and heavy the lens might be. Not to say that it's super heavy or anything, just not amazingly light like I was hoping

A Sony A7iii could be an option as they’re slightly lighter and, being an older generation, cheaper. The biggest bulk & weight is going to be your lens though and if you’re using it professionally I wouldn’t recommend cutting down on the quality of lens so I’m not sure how much you’re going to save in terms of weight and size overall to be honest!
