 You put your phone map that kind of stuff in [, Music ]. The side has got, i'm guessing is also a waterproof pocket, so it's made from this really durable uh they described as not being, i think they describe it as being welded and not uh glued on the website. So it's meant to be. You know stronger too well lasting and everything so we're good on the side

 Their prices recently inflation and all that uh they still seem to have a lot of issues with supply chain. A lot of their bags are not in stock, and you you can't, you just have to go on waiting lists so anyway, um a lot of these. The reason i got this was because it's quite different to usual kind of dry bags, whereas you know usually it folds over the top, and this i felt was more structured and uh yeah. I think it's you know more like a general backpack, but obviously with the benefit of being waterproof, so starting at the front, let's just pop that open it's got this pull down this little area

 This is that hard to pull. So what i like about this already it just you can see it keeps its shape. It'S very um yeah. It feels like it's going to be quite durable for throwing around you know a boat that kind of stuff

 Take their Dry Backpack. It’s super long lasting and durable and it’ll keep your stored kit dry even if it happens to end up fully submerged.

In terms of materials used, what we’re looking at here is 840D nylon with clear ether TPU, nylon webbing, EVA foam and high density plastic. The EVA foam padding on the back and shoulder straps enhances comfort and without a bulky and suffocating compromise having to be made. The PU coated nylon meanwhile is waterproof, abrasion-resistant, and flexible.

And then the last option that I'll mention here is the Waterfield Designs Bolt backpack, which is a very solidly built bag. It's made in the Us and that's going to come in at a little bit of a higher price point at over 300, but that is really to me what a premium bag should feel like

 So I'm excited to walk through all the details with you guys and with all that being said, let's go ahead and jump in. Starting off with the outside of the bag, I really like the overall aesthetic. This definitely has a little bit more of a rustic or heritage style vibe. The shape and layout of the bag reminded me a little bit of Jansport and Swiss gear backpacks that I've used in the past, but I like that the outdoorsy vibe that it has makes it feel a little bit more adult or professional so it can still work well in an office setting while being rugged enough to take into the outdoors or for walking around the city

 what I have in here is the 20 ounce water bottle that you've seen in a lot of my other videos and that fit in there pretty comfortably. One thing about these pockets, however, is that they don't have a whole lot of elasticity, so the volume you get here is pretty fixed. and I also didn't really like that when you place something a little bit thicker, it tends to take up space from the main area of the bag and then moving into the capacity. The bag comes in at about 26 liters, which is a really versatile size in my opinion

 And then the last option that I'll mention here is the Waterfield Designs Bolt backpack, which is a very solidly built bag. It's made in the Us and that's going to come in at a little bit of a higher price point at over 300, but that is really to me what a premium bag should feel like. It has a very rugged wax, canvas exterior, leather accenting it all. just feels very well built

The Osprey Talon 22 is consistently one of our favorite daypacks and every year it gets better. This year, we honored it as our favorite lightweight daypack in our Best Daypacks review. This pack has a very versatile design that’s loaded with useful features. It has a dependable, lightweight design that carries weight better than most smaller packs. It has a suspension system akin to larger packs, which makes it very comfortable for many different activities. The flexible frame and padded hip belt keep this pack securely in place while you move down the trail. Osprey’s AirScape design on the back panel allows for plenty of airflow between your back and the pack, which keeps your back from getting too sweaty. It has a sleeve for a hydration bladder, an ice axe loop, trekking pole holders, a helmet carrying system, and even a place to attach a blinking light. 
As you might expect with a smaller volume pack, this isn’t the best for winter conditions when you have to carry a lot of layers. This pack is great for light and fast day trips and moves well with you as you move. For day hiking, mountain biking, and bike commuting, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better option than the Talon 22.  

Switchback Travel

If you’re looking for one daypack that can do it all, Osprey’s Talon is your best bet. At 22 liters (and made in larger versions up to 44 liters for those who need more capacity), it hits an ideal balance of comfort and features. Notably, the Talon has a real hipbelt with light cushioning, which is more comfortable than the simple webbing you get with more streamlined packs, along with a thoughtfully designed mesh backpanel. The pack also has functional organization, a nice stretchiness to it, ample attachment points including for trekking poles, a helmet, and a bike light, and is made in two sizes to dial in fit. For day hikes, travel, and everyday use, the Talon 22 is an excellent choice.

While the Talon is Osprey’s best all-rounder, the more expensive Stratos collection below offers even more padding and carrying comfort. The latter has a more substantial hipbelt along with a suspended mesh backpanel for superior support and ventilation (it’s built more like a backpacking pack than a daypack). On the flip side, the Talon is lighter at under 2 pounds, but its thinner backpanel does mean that you can sometimes feel the contents of your bag on your back, and particularly if loaded down.  Pretty spacious. There's a zippered compartment up here, not sewn in. If you've watched any of my other Osprey bag reviews, it's one of my gripes that they don't sew the bottom of this in. However, I'm going to talk about the Hike Light real quickly

 at the tail, it's A. It's a 118. So I was sliding my skis down in here both of them at the same time and I was undoing this compression strap all the way and ratcheting it down. The skis weren't super stable, but it's a feature that I think they should talk about in this bag, and I think in future iterations of this bag they should consider putting a little bit more of a strap up here so you can actually carry your skis with it

 Never felt like I could get enough in the hike light. So this bag is permanently replacing my hike light. One of the gripes that I had about the hike light was the water bottle holders. These have the actual really good stretchy ones that kind of come back now

OSPREY TALON 22 THE PERFECT BACKPACK FOR WINTER ADVENTURE

I am really thin and don't sweat much. So I prioritize comfort and padded and flexibility packs over ventilation (If I have to compromise on one). So everyone's preferences may be different.

 There's a little pocket here and tucked away in there is the webbing loop for the head of the ice axe. So if you're not using an ice axe, you can tuck that away so it doesn't catch on things. When you're walking, pop it up inside that sleeve and if you're not a big fan of stone, Go! You don't want the poles down the side of your pack? You want them on the outside out of the way that you can also store your trekking poles on this system as well. On the left-hand shoulder strap, Osprey have now introduced a really nice little mesh stretch pocket

 It's not quite big enough for a big phone, but you could get a hydration flask in there or even a Mars bar. So how does the Talon 22 fit? Well, Like I said earlier, it's really, really important to get the fit of your pack absolutely right. That's why Osprey rather helpfully do it in two different sizes and each size is size adjustable, so the fit of the pack isn't determined by your height. I'm six foot three, for instance, but I would use the shorter back system on here because my height is all in my legs

I mean, my hips are up to here, for goodness sake, you know, got really stupidly long legs and a short torso. so I would use the smaller of the two sizes in here and maybe just adjust it up a little bit to give me that little get that fit

 But anyway, why we're here today? We're here today to talk to you about the iconic Osprey Talon 22. The Asp, The Talon 22 was the first of its kind, really in defining what is a truly versatile, all-mountain all activities pack. You can use this for trail running, mountain biking, gravel cycling, scrambling, climbing, hiking, hill walking, a bit of light mountaineering and scrambling. , So you have got a really stretchy nice pocket there easy to throw lightweight layer in or some wet clothing to gloves or something along those lines.. We have got who stretchy mesh side pockets with inside out compression, and that just means you can route the compression strap under the pocket like I have here or over, like I have got on this side so that inside out compression is pretty nice.

 And you have got real-ly good size throughout the entire capacity of the bag.. So it is 22 liters, but you do get a lot of capacity with that. One expansive opening really nice there

Osprey Talon 22 Day Pack

 You can attach those poles and loop them through the gear loop here. So when you're doing big hikes - and you need to tuck those poles away to quickly do a rocky scramble. You can go, pulls free and just leave your poles right. There you've also got a lid lock attachment on the front

 The pack works really well. This flexible suspension system has definitely gotten better, as time has gone on. The Talon 22 has a softer mesh that provides enhanced next to skin comfort and a nearly seamless hip belt. That really provides a nice body hugging fit behind that open mesh back panel

 You can install a reservoir there. It makes it really easy to refill and maintain access to that reservoir. The reservoir itself is sold separately, it's not in, but it's definitely a worthwhile accessory. There'S also a slot at the bottom of the front of the pack here for a blinker light attachment if you've got one of those so for day, hikes commuting around town carrying your gear to and from the gym or even long days

 and then I'll bring my kind of more bush bush crafty backpack for that perfect size for a day hike. I mean you could even say it's larger than needed for a day hike. but for me bringing the camera, bringing chair and food and stuff like that, it's It's perfect. So a little more backpack modeling

 You have, and there you go. They are out of the way while you're doing whatever else, and relatively easily accessible. You want them back for hiking. Ultimately, it's just a backpack

 So there's a sternum strap as I mentioned right there with the whistle there are. There's a hip belt, which like I said, I never use. The hip belt does tuck behind you nicely, which I appreciate. Um, if you're gonna put a hip belt on it, make it uh, feel okay when it's tucked behind you
