 In a way, the Squier brand is sort of known as a beginner's guitar. And I think that reputation is not really deserved because although they do make some very inexpensive guitars that cost, you know, $100, $150, the Bullet Series, that kind of stuff, when you get into the more mid range or higher range instruments, they really are good, solid guitars that anybody could use. Okay, now I want to hear from you guys, all of the Squier owners out there, especially somebody who has the Contemporary Series or like that Active HH series that I was showing you a second ago. I would love to hear what you guys think about those guitars

 I want something that's gonna be kind of similar in terms of the price range. But anyway, let's go ahead and plug it in and check it out. But one cool thing is it does have these solid saddles down here, so it's not like the bent steel ones that rub the skin off your hand while you're using it. It even has a nice traditional 12 inch radius on the fretboard, so it's very comfortable to play for both chords and also lead work

 But the Contemporary Series, it's just a more solid guitar, you know, definitely more professional in a lot of ways. And so this is really a guitar that you could have as a first guitar, but continue playing it, you know, really throughout your whole journey as a guitar player. Now, if you think I'm just saying that because it sounds nice, I want to show you guys something here. Another guitar that I have is this one here

 So to sum it all up, yes, I think this is a good first guitar for somebody. Now, in particular, I think the Squier Contemporary Series is extra good for being a first guitar because, you know, there are some lower end Squiers and while they are still good guitars, I think those guitars are more along the lines of something that you're going to play for maybe a year and then you're going to want to step up to something later on. Is a SQUIER STRAT the Best FIRST GUITAR? - Demo / Review

I have a few Squier Affinity Strats picked up this past year due to boredom stuck in house and based on these previous purchases, I feel this was a let down. I wanted a Candy-Apple Red Strat but did not want to pay up for the Classic Vibe since I planned on modding it. Also needed a small practice amp because my 25 yr old Rockman has seen better days. So

A Little Disappointed

Getting into playing over COVID lockdown so ordered this because could not go into local music shop to pick up myself. Wanted decent guitar that was already packaged for shipping. Not moderate level guitar that was thrown in 1/2 done shipping from store to get damaged in transit. For that purpose It comes boxed in separate shipping box

 So the guitar sounded pretty good so that just shows you the body. The wood stuff is very minor when it comes to electric guitars, not acoustic electric guitars. The neck is a very comfortable classic Ibanez style slim u-ish style neck. Very comfortable neck

 Tuners are probably the weakest part of this guitar, and that's the case for a lot of the budget lower end. You know less than 500 range guitars, But still, the tuner quality of this is still pretty good. It's not the greatest, but it's not the worst tone. I'd probably give this an 8 out of 10

 I'm actually not too sure what specific wood they used because of the black paint that they covered over the wood. But I'm assuming for all the Ibanez you know less than 500 range guitars, it's probably some variation of basswood or basswood. It's just a very low quality wood, low quality. I'm not saying the tone is low quality, but compared to like a you know, an ash body or a maple body or a walnut body, you know a basswood body is compared to those much lower in terms of wood quality tier

 It's not the greatest, but it's not the worst tone. I'd probably give this an 8 out of 10. Very good sounding guitars. It's just a versatile guitar

 My last birthday my wife convinced me to choose any guitar, so I started looking for the best guitar at the best price. I am not disappointed. This Ibanez plays like a dream. It sounds much better than the Fender and it holds tune better than any guitar I've ever used

I use to have a Gibson SG Standard that I sold while in college and for several years I have an inexpensive Made-in-China Fender Strat. It is fine for practice guitar, but I have always been wanting something better and just didn't want to spend a lot since I don't play professionally. My last birthday my wife convinced me to choose any guitar, so I started looking for the best guitar at the best price. I am not disappointed

 This Ibanez plays like a dream. It sounds much better than the Fender and it holds tune better than any guitar I've ever used. Love the Quantum pickups and locking nut. Only thing they could improve on is the fret finishing

First new electric guitar and one very happy guitar player. There are a lot of guitars out there but I really love this RG450DX as a beginner guitar. I previously owned an old hand-me-down low end guitar and was really frustrated with it. I decided to buy a new guitar put some cash into something that looked good and was a step up from a starter guitar because like with other hobbies I've had, after a couple of months owning a starter model, I realized that I should of put a little more money down on something that would carry me a lot further down the road

 They always say, "If it looks really nice and it sounds great then you are more likely to pick it up on sight and start practicing". This is very true for me. I picked up this model because I really enjoy playing metal; hard and fast. The neck is nice and thin which helps me because I don't have big hands nor do I have long fingers

  All in all, you can't ask for a better guitar at this price point. There's a reason why Ibanez dominates the lower price market.  However, I still must say the usual caveat. Please, go to a guitar store or find a friend who owns what you're looking for and try it out first
