 In a way, the Squier brand is sort of known as a beginner's guitar. And I think that reputation is not really deserved because although they do make some very inexpensive guitars that cost, you know, $100, $150, the Bullet Series, that kind of stuff, when you get into the more mid range or higher range instruments, they really are good, solid guitars that anybody could use. Okay, now I want to hear from you guys, all of the Squier owners out there, especially somebody who has the Contemporary Series or like that Active HH series that I was showing you a second ago. I would love to hear what you guys think about those guitars

 I want something that's gonna be kind of similar in terms of the price range. But anyway, let's go ahead and plug it in and check it out. But one cool thing is it does have these solid saddles down here, so it's not like the bent steel ones that rub the skin off your hand while you're using it. It even has a nice traditional 12 inch radius on the fretboard, so it's very comfortable to play for both chords and also lead work

 But the Contemporary Series, it's just a more solid guitar, you know, definitely more professional in a lot of ways. And so this is really a guitar that you could have as a first guitar, but continue playing it, you know, really throughout your whole journey as a guitar player. Now, if you think I'm just saying that because it sounds nice, I want to show you guys something here. Another guitar that I have is this one here

 So to sum it all up, yes, I think this is a good first guitar for somebody. Now, in particular, I think the Squier Contemporary Series is extra good for being a first guitar because, you know, there are some lower end Squiers and while they are still good guitars, I think those guitars are more along the lines of something that you're going to play for maybe a year and then you're going to want to step up to something later on. Is a SQUIER STRAT the Best FIRST GUITAR? - Demo / Review

.  pros: the little amp rocks. I was surprised how good it sounded. The neck was surprising good with no fret sprout like I experienced on a previous Affinity

I have a few Squier Affinity Strats picked up this past year due to boredom stuck in house and based on these previous purchases, I feel this was a let down. I wanted a Candy-Apple Red Strat but did not want to pay up for the Classic Vibe since I planned on modding it. Also needed a small practice amp because my 25 yr old Rockman has seen better days. So

A Little Disappointed

Getting into playing over COVID lockdown so ordered this because could not go into local music shop to pick up myself. Wanted decent guitar that was already packaged for shipping. Not moderate level guitar that was thrown in 1/2 done shipping from store to get damaged in transit. For that purpose It comes boxed in separate shipping box

 Now I have to buy new strings... I guess this is just a case of getting what you pay for

 Playing this is fun, but initially, for the acoustic you need to commit to calluses and discomfort.)  The included amp is, again, buzzy and kind of "meh", but you are looking for the minimum here, not the concert package. I picked up some bluetooth connections, so I could not need the audio chord between the guitar and the amp. I added some headphones to spare my family from having to listen to me

I’ve always been a casual player- 2 practices a week sorta thing so I never thought I necessarily “needed” a higher-end guitar until last week when I decided to upgrade from the same Epiphone i’ve had since I started playing in the summer of 2014.

[GEAR] After 7 years, I pulled the trigger and bought my first Gibson Les Paul Studio Deluxe :)

That’s one of my rigs and it absolutely roars. It’s what an electric guitar is supposed to sound like, it’s what I hear when I think of the electric guitars

Personally I'm a sucker for those 70's treble boosted tones, think Blackmore, Rory Gallagher and Page.

Something about that sound just makes it so versatile, plus you can really hear the articulation of their playing with the natural character of the overdrive.
