 I used to have a fender strap this is a Mexican Strat. I had one of those before, but there was a little bit of a version of the guitar with some really good pickups that I had before and I had jumper first. this one already had me medium job overrides which is kind of a little bit of a problem for me as I've just realized because I realize when you bend these the high threads that are the high E string you're really struggling with. You're really putting your fingers into the wood a lot

 but the other thing is that you lose the string at some point. So if you do something like this [Music] at some point you'll just you just lose the string. So I guess this type of guitar is not made for bending on the high E string, which sounds weird, but that's just a fact that you lose the string. [Music] It's much easier to on the B and G string

 I'm actually test the tuner now because it goes out of tune all the time [Music] This g string is a problem, the low, the low strings also go out and actually also the high e and the b string especially if you use the whammy. So but got no complaints on the sound. and uh the feel of the neck is just is excellent too. [Music] so this is the neck pickup [Music] So anyway this is a real good cheap guitar that I'm gonna be using um on my recordings and videos [Music] and that's you know that's just a single call

 So I guess this type of guitar is not made for bending on the high E string, which sounds weird, but that's just a fact that you lose the string. [Music] It's much easier to on the B and G string. no strings I don't have any problems with [Music] And this what I've been playing with in on the in this video until now is I guess this single coil down here um, which sounds really great and the humbugger is really good too. It has a tendency to to lose tuning because I put on some heavier strings and I guess one of the reasons that it's cheap is because they don't really do this from the factory is not really a very well done job

This one's a Fender player Stratocaster the HSS model or humbucker in the bridge position so the player stratocasters kinda like the updated version of this standard Stratocaster it's made in Mexico This one's got the two-point bridge tremolo on it. vibrato, but if you want to call it 22 frets now instead of 21 as well. apart from that, it's pretty similar

 In a way, the Squier brand is sort of known as a beginner's guitar. And I think that reputation is not really deserved because although they do make some very inexpensive guitars that cost, you know, $100, $150, the Bullet Series, that kind of stuff, when you get into the more mid range or higher range instruments, they really are good, solid guitars that anybody could use. Okay, now I want to hear from you guys, all of the Squier owners out there, especially somebody who has the Contemporary Series or like that Active HH series that I was showing you a second ago. I would love to hear what you guys think about those guitars

 I want something that's gonna be kind of similar in terms of the price range. But anyway, let's go ahead and plug it in and check it out. But one cool thing is it does have these solid saddles down here, so it's not like the bent steel ones that rub the skin off your hand while you're using it. It even has a nice traditional 12 inch radius on the fretboard, so it's very comfortable to play for both chords and also lead work

 But the Contemporary Series, it's just a more solid guitar, you know, definitely more professional in a lot of ways. And so this is really a guitar that you could have as a first guitar, but continue playing it, you know, really throughout your whole journey as a guitar player. Now, if you think I'm just saying that because it sounds nice, I want to show you guys something here. Another guitar that I have is this one here

 So to sum it all up, yes, I think this is a good first guitar for somebody. Now, in particular, I think the Squier Contemporary Series is extra good for being a first guitar because, you know, there are some lower end Squiers and while they are still good guitars, I think those guitars are more along the lines of something that you're going to play for maybe a year and then you're going to want to step up to something later on. But the Contemporary Series, it's just a more solid guitar, you know, definitely more professional in a lot of ways. And so this is really a guitar that you could have as a first guitar, but continue playing it, you know, really throughout your whole journey as a guitar player

Is a SQUIER STRAT the Best FIRST GUITAR? - Demo / Review

.  pros: the little amp rocks. I was surprised how good it sounded. The neck was surprising good with no fret sprout like I experienced on a previous Affinity

I have a few Squier Affinity Strats picked up this past year due to boredom stuck in house and based on these previous purchases, I feel this was a let down. I wanted a Candy-Apple Red Strat but did not want to pay up for the Classic Vibe since I planned on modding it. Also needed a small practice amp because my 25 yr old Rockman has seen better days. So

 I was surprised how good it sounded. The neck was surprising good with no fret sprout like I experienced on a previous Affinity. It is really thin so those will smaller hands will appreciate it. And I do love the red finish

A Little Disappointed

Getting into playing over COVID lockdown so ordered this because could not go into local music shop to pick up myself. Wanted decent guitar that was already packaged for shipping. Not moderate level guitar that was thrown in 1/2 done shipping from store to get damaged in transit. For that purpose It comes boxed in separate shipping box

Good enough complete set for beginners but needs to be tuned.

 Now I have to buy new strings... I guess this is just a case of getting what you pay for

The frets play pretty easily, and finger spacing was fine. (Note: I can contrast playing this guitar with the equivalent Fender acoustic guitar, which actually kind of hurts the fingers of a beginner

 Playing this is fun, but initially, for the acoustic you need to commit to calluses and discomfort.)  The included amp is, again, buzzy and kind of "meh", but you are looking for the minimum here, not the concert package. I picked up some bluetooth connections, so I could not need the audio chord between the guitar and the amp. I added some headphones to spare my family from having to listen to me
