 Now, if you happen to be familiar with the previous American Vintage 65 reissues, well, the American Original is not all that different. the main differences being the nine and a half inch radius fretboard, as well as the 62 reissue pickups. To my mind, these pickups are very similar indeed to the old Avri 62s, and in fact, nearly identical tonally. I can't really detect a difference to what I know to be the old familiar Avri 62 sound, so these are good pickups

 I think this is a beautiful guitar that's well built and it's got a hell of a good sound. So do I recommend this guitar absolutely wholeheartedly. Great guitar, especially for those of you and you know who you are who like your necks big and fat and full and impossible to play. I can't do this

Jaguar Review #1: Fender American Original '60s Jaguar Review & Demo!

So the first time I put it on my lap, I always judge things right off the bat by how they feel, and it sits so comfortably on my leg, it's kind of like my Jazzmaster, it feels like it just molds to your body, whether it's sitting like this, or lately at home I've been practicing classical style because my back started hurting from turning and watching TV as I practiced. So I decided to start holding the guitar like this, and it sits perfectly either way. It's well balanced, there's no neck dive, it just stays exactly like this

Brutally Honest Gear Reviews! #2: Fender Jaguar "Classic Player Special" HH

Seems more likely you sold it for less than its worth than the price of this guitar is inflated. The current version of that guitar (Original 60s Jaguar) retails for $2250 new, plus tax. So, $1600-$1900 might be a bit high on the used market, but if they aren't very common, and popular right now, that feels about right for one in good condition.

About 4 years ago I sold a 2002 Fender Jaguar American Vintage '62 reissue for $1,200.  

I wasn’t playing at all at the time and had a Strat.

Hey :) I'm thinking of getting an offset as my first electric (the one I'm tracking is a Squier VM Jaguar), but I was wondering if it's a good idea to start with an offset. I've played my cousin' Squier Strato and there's something about it I don't quite vibe. I've also tried Epiphone LP and didn't enjoy.  I like a few guitar players that play a Jaguar and also I'm really into the shape and overall aesthetics. Should I get or should I go for a more conventional guitar,  like a Tele? Any advice?

 But for all intents and purposes, they are modeled after real 59 PAF pickups. Now, Gibson was the first to do this. Do the semi-hollow design like the 335, but since then, plenty of other builders and manufacturers have gotten into the game producing their own semi-hollow body designs. This is my Novo Miris and on paper, it's pretty similar to a 335

 That was the very first time I ever performed in public with this guitar. This is my 2010 Memphis Made Gibson ES335. This guitar has been through thick and thin with me. This is the one alongside my pink sparkle novo that if the house was on fire and everyone was safe, this is the one that I would run in and grab

 I've played hundreds upon hundreds of gigs and sessions with this guitar. It's been all over North America and Canada and Mexico with me on tour and through all that time, through all those gigs and practices and performances, both good and terrible, I've learned that this is probably the most versatile guitar ever. In fact, in my opinion, I think the ES335 is the best electric guitar design ever. To me, the semi-hollow double humbucker three-way toggle switch design is the one guitar to rule them all

 Also, I picked the color from Back to the Future. A lot of people have commented over the years of me teaching guitar. the Back to the Future you know is one of the movies that made them want to play guitar so I thought it'd be fun to kind of connect to that vibe a little bit. Now the C shaped neck is just really good because I don't have you know, John Mayer hands or Hendrix hands or whatever and I've always gotten comfort out of that C shaped neck

Block inlays just like BB King All the specs are what I like in a Es-335 and we'll go through and play it all. So big! Thanks and shout out to Gibson Guitars are being so cool and working with me on this

 so I decided the block inlays and especially because BB Kings Lucille had block inlays now I Love the classic Legends BB King Jimmy Page Eric Clapton Played a 335 and creamed The pickups in. Here are the Memphis historic specs which are as closely based on the classic PAF's as they've gotten so far, thus getting those tones from Clapton BB King Jimmy Page the classic Gibson players. So I did put a lot of thought into it I've got a little bit of back to the future. We got a little bit of BB King and then with the Memphis historic Specht pickups, we got that classic Jimmy Page sound that you would get right from something like Led Zeppelin or Eric Clapton and cream

 the Back to the Future you know is one of the movies that made them want to play guitar so I thought it'd be fun to kind of connect to that vibe a little bit. Now the C shaped neck is just really good because I don't have you know, John Mayer hands or Hendrix hands or whatever and I've always gotten comfort out of that C shaped neck. Planning to get some axes that I'd use for recording. I already have a great amp, recording setup, and everything else needed for an electric. Hypothetically, if I want as much versatility across multiple genres as possible with two guitars, or one guitar, which ones would I get for $500? 

Sky's the limit, I'm not really picky, though I'd prefer to do as little major upgrading like pickup changes as possible (setting up is fine, as are minor upgrades like sanding fret edges)

I'm also making this because I want to see some interesting discussions in the comments. Thanks!

 Yeah, a little. uh. Victory Dp-40 Uh, obviously. I think the neon yellow cable probably was the yeah, that's the made the difference

 But well, today we are looking at well, probably the guitar that I think you know all the really good session players and guitar players of all time I think would generally say that the 335 is the ultimate most versatile guitar. They would like to do that, whether that's true or not. Of course is a matter of personal opinion. But when you talk to people like you know, uh, Larry Carlton and Robin Ford and Marty Mcfly Martin

 Uh, so everything now is made in Nashville, apart from acoustic guitars which is still made up in Bozeman, Montana because the climate's better for making acoustic guitars apparently. Yeah, Um, so the uh, the easy way to understand that when you're looking at a 335 or any of the Es series from Gibson. If it's got a year in the model number, then it's custom shop and it's built super high end, historically correct level. And if it hasn't got a year in the name, like an Es355 standard or something that'll be made alongside things like the Les Paul standard in the like, the normal Nashville Uh facility

 it's incredible. But when we went to the what is it who name it name a good like like Ralph Lauren. If you're watching, please, you need it. You need to forget your Polo aftershave old spice
