You get an alder body with a maple neck and a rosewood fretboard; already uncommon these days when you have manufacturers charging you much more for basses made with poplar bodies. Folks, poplar is not a tone wood and it is only fit for making bookshelves in your kid’s bedroom. The only issue with the bass is that the J pickup is a bit noisy, but if you roll it down 1/4, the noise goes away. Other than that, I'm very satisfied with the bass. I had a very small issue with the shipping that the seller, GearTree, was very quick to resolve to my satisfaction. Superb customer service
