 Until now, I've been using my Formula V2 wheel and loving it. Then, along Camera Mclaren Gt3 V2 wheel, I just couldn't stop myself. I needed to check this out at almost half a price. I didn't expect it to then become my primary wheel over the formula, but that's exactly what's happened now

 If you want a small wheel radius and you've noticed that the Mclaren is slightly larger in width in the formula, you needn't be concerned. the practical difference is really small. It shouldn't really be an issue to you if you're leaning towards either wheel. Based on that, you can safely cross that out as you won't really be able to tell the difference if you're picking one or the other

 The biggest influencer on any decision, let's be honest, is how they make you feel when you look at them. This is completely a matter of personal taste and nobody can tell you what looks good in your eyes. Only you can do that. I prefer the Mclaren's design because it's a replica of a real wheel that existed in a real Gt3 car, and with stuff like that, I do place a lot of preference into that kind of thing

New Fanatec CSL McLaren GT3 V2 Wheel Unboxing and Review

Hey guys will here! So the Mclaren Gt3 wheel from Fnatic has been one of their most popular wheels historically, and when this was, uh, discontinued, probably almost about a year ago now, a lot of people were disappointed. Anytime you see one of these wheels pop up on any sort of secondhand market, it always gets sold pretty much immediately. So today, we're very excited to introduce to you guys the brand new V2 Mclaren Wheel. Now, from what I can see, I haven't unboxed it yet

 I mean the the biggest complaints that I saw with the original one were around the quick release that wasn't really a quick release, the mounting solution which has now been improved with this new design which does actually work really well and as we saw in the video, actually works a lot better than the metal Quick release in terms of the flex in the hub itself, particularly on Dd1s and Dd2s as we've seen before when we looked at the Wrc wheel from Fanatic that uses the same quick release, so that's a big improvement. The multi-position switches also, being able to be used as rotary encoders makes a big difference as well. That's going to increase compatibility for a bunch of other titles that didn't support the multi-position switches previously, so that is a big positive as well. The magnetic shifters do feel significantly better than they did before the analog paddles look

 So pop these off and it does look absolutely identical as we expected to the V1, at least at face value. So move those aside as well. So yeah, I mean, if you've seen the Mclaren Gt3 V1 wheel, this looks exactly the same, but for those of you who aren't familiar, it is a plastic construction. so although it does have that kind of nice carbon fibery looking uh pattern on the front that is just sort of like an etched plastic

NEW FANATEC MCLAREN GT3 WHEEL! - REVIEW - Fanatec CSL Elite McLaren GT3 V2

 It's ergonomic in size and shape, feels good to hold on to, and doesn't feel fragile in any way, shape or form. Despite being made almost entirely from plastic, I find the 300 millimeter diameter to be comfortable, and except for the rotary encoders, all buttons and dials are at close reach when driving. The telemetry data on the Oled screen is also a nice touch, albeit something I never found myself looking at. A notable feature about this wheel that I almost forgot to mention is that it comes with optional button caps and stickers to completely personalize this wheel and give it a more realistic look

 A total of 9 buttons, 2 toggle switches, a 7-way funky switch, and 2 rotary encoders are all scattered throughout the wheel, meaning you most likely won't be running out of mappable buttons anytime soon. The few of them isn't anything crazy, they don't have a mechanical click and don't feel special to press down. Essentially, they're just there to do the job and well, that's what they do. The rubber grips have a good thickness to them and are easy to hold onto

 You can push outwards on the left paddle to make that gear shift. It's a neat feature, which is sometimes useful, but that being said, it requires a lot of force to push outwards, which essentially ruins the ease of use it was meant to provide. However, when using the pedal shifters, normally, it does feel okay. It's a very distinct feel in that it doesn't feel clicky, but it still allows you to quickly and noticeably shift gears
