 When you take the strings off which is really nice, it just is a little bit more tuning stability and the tailpiece is just, as I mentioned, just fixed in place. Guitar sounds great, plays really fast and as you can see, nice good view of the gold hardware there and the upper fret axis is not as good as more of a traditional shred, you know, super-strat style guitar but it is pretty good. I mean, it's good enough I'd say and I really like the split coil feature. I really love single coil tones just like Yngwie but you can see the back, you know, you can see the contours of the body, the upper fret axis and that smooth neck

So basically, apparently what you do is you just twist these knobs and it will lock or unlock the strings so when you want to change the strings, apparently this is just another way to add tuning stability and makes the string changes really easy so apparently you don't even have to wind up the strings very much

 I still need to get used to the action and set it up a bit better. The clean parts have some weird feedback. I think probably due to the fact that I need to mute the strings behind the headstock past the nut but other than that, you know, here it is. I'm using EZ Mix Mark Lewis Expansion Pack and I'll show you what settings I use in each part and what pickup configuration but enough talking

 As you can see, it's got those special locking tuners.  We have off the 12th fret on the low E string. We have it sitting at one and a half millimeters off the 12th fret, on the high, on the low E, on the high E, we have it sitting at exactly one and a half millimeters, which is as you know where I like it. For reference, I always like to measure the third fret just to see and this one's sitting at 0.75 on the low E and of course 0

This Guitar Puts $3000 Guitars To Shame!

 The emg pick ups are great for long sustains, punchy palm muting, and shrieking pinch harmonics. I don't know why people complain you can only play metal with these pick-ups though. Sure, they're really good for that, but they also have beautiful clean tones and even manage some decent classic rock or bluesy tones as well. If I really want to be a stiffler about my more vintage tones then I will use my strat, but this guitar usually sounds fine for those as well it's just not a blues machine or anything

 You have three controls here right? control volume and a knob and a push pull control right? So these are our split call so you can have split call for these two humbuckers. Now the finish is the one that is really eye-catching Okay, so um, it's nice. This is the blue natural fade right? I like it. Yeah, cool

 but I find that these pickups are okay, um, parameters that you know. This is all very comfortable. I'm very uh familiar, right? You can set up the red familiar to the to the less pokemon setup. Yep, so let me know what you think about this guitar

 Now it has the Tom Pros lock-in tuners as well as the Tom Pros bridge all right, all in black heavy metal. Has a molded nut all right and a three-way selector. You have uh, a pair of symbol Duncan pickups. Here, these are the sentience

 I'm gonna put the weight down here. All right. The weight is about uh, 3.6 kg and I'm going to put the price down here

LTD EC1000

 The pickups are good and after tuning the instrument, it came reasonably set up out of the box. Frets are straight, no dead notes. Cons: The fret ends are not as well done as they are on the Korean built models. You can make it comfortable with a little tlc, which I'm okay with but i expected better

 That doesn't necessarily mean its an inferior instrument. I like that there is no longer that ugly writing at the 12th fret. Pros: Overall, solid construction. The guitar feels very solid and has a good bit of weight to it, which is what i want from a single cut guitar like this

 Note to self, always buy instruments from music stores. Otherwise, the guitar is beautiful, not a ding or chip anywhere. I got the black with gold hardware, the feel/action is awesome, but that might be Guitar Center's intervention, the guitar, though, is very pleasing to the eye!

Not set-up to play, out of the box

I have had the version with Duncan JB/59 combo for a couple of years. I am a Fender guy, always have been. I never liked the necks on Les Pauls, they just never felt comfortable. When I played one of these it was like a breath of fresh air

 They are light, but sturdy. I simply do not understand how they can build a guitar of this quality for the price. Fit and finish was flawless, pots and switch works with no scratching, and the tone from the Duncans is exceptional. The extra jumbo frets may take some getting used to, especially if you are used to the vintage or medium jumbo frets on Strats or Teles

 The locking tuners make string changes a breeze, and the locking bridge and stop bar are great and insure everything stays put. Personally, I like the abalone binding though some may find it over the top.  You will not find an Epiphone that can touch this in terms of quality in build and sound. In fact, unless you are just a die-hard Gibson fan, you'll have a hard time justifying spending close to two grand for a Gibson after playing one

 But for all intents and purposes, they are modeled after real 59 PAF pickups. Now, Gibson was the first to do this. Do the semi-hollow design like the 335, but since then, plenty of other builders and manufacturers have gotten into the game producing their own semi-hollow body designs. This is my Novo Miris and on paper, it's pretty similar to a 335

 That was the very first time I ever performed in public with this guitar. This is my 2010 Memphis Made Gibson ES335. This guitar has been through thick and thin with me. This is the one alongside my pink sparkle novo that if the house was on fire and everyone was safe, this is the one that I would run in and grab

 I've played hundreds upon hundreds of gigs and sessions with this guitar. It's been all over North America and Canada and Mexico with me on tour and through all that time, through all those gigs and practices and performances, both good and terrible, I've learned that this is probably the most versatile guitar ever. In fact, in my opinion, I think the ES335 is the best electric guitar design ever. To me, the semi-hollow double humbucker three-way toggle switch design is the one guitar to rule them all

Block inlays just like BB King All the specs are what I like in a Es-335 and we'll go through and play it all. So big!  so I decided the block inlays and especially because BB Kings Lucille had block inlays now I Love the classic Legends BB King Jimmy Page Eric Clapton Played a 335 and creamed The pickups in. Here are the Memphis historic specs which are as closely based on the classic PAF's as they've gotten so far, thus getting those tones from Clapton BB King Jimmy Page the classic Gibson players. So I did put a lot of thought into it I've got a little bit of back to the future. We got a little bit of BB King and then with the Memphis historic Specht pickups, we got that classic Jimmy Page sound that you would get right from something like Led Zeppelin or Eric Clapton and cream

 the Back to the Future you know is one of the movies that made them want to play guitar so I thought it'd be fun to kind of connect to that vibe a little bit. Now the C shaped neck is just really good because I don't have you know, John Mayer hands or Hendrix hands or whatever and I've always gotten comfort out of that C shaped neck. Planning to get some axes that I'd use for recording. I already have a great amp, recording setup, and everything else needed for an electric. Hypothetically, if I want as much versatility across multiple genres as possible with two guitars, or one guitar, which ones would I get for $500? 

Sky's the limit, I'm not really picky, though I'd prefer to do as little major upgrading like pickup changes as possible (setting up is fine, as are minor upgrades like sanding fret edges)

I'm also making this because I want to see some interesting discussions in the comments. Thanks!

 Yeah, a little. uh. Victory Dp-40 Uh, obviously. I think the neon yellow cable probably was the yeah, that's the made the difference

 But well, today we are looking at well, probably the guitar that I think you know all the really good session players and guitar players of all time I think would generally say that the 335 is the ultimate most versatile guitar. They would like to do that, whether that's true or not. Of course is a matter of personal opinion. But when you talk to people like you know, uh, Larry Carlton and Robin Ford and Marty Mcfly Martin

 Uh, so everything now is made in Nashville, apart from acoustic guitars which is still made up in Bozeman, Montana because the climate's better for making acoustic guitars apparently. Yeah, Um, so the uh, the easy way to understand that when you're looking at a 335 or any of the Es series from Gibson. If it's got a year in the model number, then it's custom shop and it's built super high end, historically correct level. And if it hasn't got a year in the name, like an Es355 standard or something that'll be made alongside things like the Les Paul standard in the like, the normal Nashville Uh facility
