 When you take the strings off which is really nice, it just is a little bit more tuning stability and the tailpiece is just, as I mentioned, just fixed in place. Guitar sounds great, plays really fast and as you can see, nice good view of the gold hardware there and the upper fret axis is not as good as more of a traditional shred, you know, super-strat style guitar but it is pretty good. I mean, it's good enough I'd say and I really like the split coil feature. I really love single coil tones just like Yngwie but you can see the back, you know, you can see the contours of the body, the upper fret axis and that smooth neck

So basically, apparently what you do is you just twist these knobs and it will lock or unlock the strings so when you want to change the strings, apparently this is just another way to add tuning stability and makes the string changes really easy so apparently you don't even have to wind up the strings very much

 I still need to get used to the action and set it up a bit better. The clean parts have some weird feedback. I think probably due to the fact that I need to mute the strings behind the headstock past the nut but other than that, you know, here it is. I'm using EZ Mix Mark Lewis Expansion Pack and I'll show you what settings I use in each part and what pickup configuration but enough talking

 We have off the 12th fret on the low E string. We have it sitting at one and a half millimeters off the 12th fret, on the high, on the low E, on the high E, we have it sitting at exactly one and a half millimeters, which is as you know where I like it. For reference, I always like to measure the third fret just to see and this one's sitting at 0.75 on the low E and of course 0

This Guitar Puts $3000 Guitars To Shame!

 The emg pick ups are great for long sustains, punchy palm muting, and shrieking pinch harmonics. I don't know why people complain you can only play metal with these pick-ups though. Sure, they're really good for that, but they also have beautiful clean tones and even manage some decent classic rock or bluesy tones as well. If I really want to be a stiffler about my more vintage tones then I will use my strat, but this guitar usually sounds fine for those as well it's just not a blues machine or anything

 You have three controls here right? control volume and a knob and a push pull control right? So these are our split call so you can have split call for these two humbuckers. Now the finish is the one that is really eye-catching Okay, so um, it's nice. This is the blue natural fade right? I like it. Yeah, cool

 but I find that these pickups are okay, um, parameters that you know. This is all very comfortable. I'm very uh familiar, right? You can set up the red familiar to the to the less pokemon setup. Yep, so let me know what you think about this guitar

 Now it has the Tom Pros lock-in tuners as well as the Tom Pros bridge all right, all in black heavy metal. Has a molded nut all right and a three-way selector. You have uh, a pair of symbol Duncan pickups. Here, these are the sentience

 I'm gonna put the weight down here. All right. The weight is about uh, 3.6 kg and I'm going to put the price down here

LTD EC1000

 The pickups are good and after tuning the instrument, it came reasonably set up out of the box. Frets are straight, no dead notes. Cons: The fret ends are not as well done as they are on the Korean built models. You can make it comfortable with a little tlc, which I'm okay with but i expected better

 That doesn't necessarily mean its an inferior instrument. I like that there is no longer that ugly writing at the 12th fret. Pros: Overall, solid construction. The guitar feels very solid and has a good bit of weight to it, which is what i want from a single cut guitar like this

 Note to self, always buy instruments from music stores. Otherwise, the guitar is beautiful, not a ding or chip anywhere. I got the black with gold hardware, the feel/action is awesome, but that might be Guitar Center's intervention, the guitar, though, is very pleasing to the eye!

Not set-up to play, out of the box

I have had the version with Duncan JB/59 combo for a couple of years. I am a Fender guy, always have been. I never liked the necks on Les Pauls, they just never felt comfortable. When I played one of these it was like a breath of fresh air

 They are light, but sturdy. I simply do not understand how they can build a guitar of this quality for the price. Fit and finish was flawless, pots and switch works with no scratching, and the tone from the Duncans is exceptional. The extra jumbo frets may take some getting used to, especially if you are used to the vintage or medium jumbo frets on Strats or Teles

 The locking tuners make string changes a breeze, and the locking bridge and stop bar are great and insure everything stays put. Personally, I like the abalone binding though some may find it over the top.  You will not find an Epiphone that can touch this in terms of quality in build and sound. In fact, unless you are just a die-hard Gibson fan, you'll have a hard time justifying spending close to two grand for a Gibson after playing one

I currently have a Marshall DSL40 which I absolutely love, but as of right now I don't think I'll be taking it with me as it gets pretty loud and is kinda bulky. I also have a really small and crappy crate amp my grandfather gave me when I first started playing which I could bring with me, but its really not all that quality. The first solution I though of was getting studio monitors and playing through my interface with the digital amps I currently have in Helix Native so that I can practice, but also produce music. The second was a smallish practice amp that sounds nice but wont bring in noise complaints, and that I can take with me to play live and jam with friends. With the monitors I would have to eventually buy a new amp or get my Marshall up to university, but with an amp I would always have to record and mix music through headphones (which isn't all that bad, I just like the luxury of having monitors).

Best solution for college, monitors with digital amps, or small practice amp? [QUESTION]

 Tube snobs will look down, but you can get some phenomenal 'tone' out of these amps if you are willing to spend a little time tuning your patches. Also worth mentioning is that the III can get stupidly loud, I can barely stand going past 2 for practice, and with friends you can keep up with almost any drummer.  This is the perfect amp for a amateur player who is 'finding their sound' or a veteran who wants versatility while still being able to pull some excellent sounds out of his amp. Highly recommend one, and the red color on mine is quite sharp and stands out

I am a huge Mustang III amp fan after having played mine for the last 6 months. Extremely versatile, easy to use, and very good sound quality. The Fender models are truly excellent and I find myself enjoying some of the others a lot too. FUSE software lets you download other peoples patches, which is a nice bonus

 The mastery sounded good, but to my ears it didn't sound $200 better than the stock bridge. The only mod back here is I did have West Lamb go ahead and he fit what you call it little brass I guess just fillers or whatever around the post so this bridge doesn't rock back and forth like they're supposed to and that does help with the tuning a lot. if you have a Mustang it's not staying in tune that well I'll think about asking your tech to do that before doing something else crazy. What I like to do to get my tremolo is the cool thing about these guitars

 You can actually yet probably see the difference there. It's a good guitar too, let's see so it's shorter, which means all the frets are closer together I'm 5/8 on a good day so that's really convenient for me. I can get it I can do stretches on this guitar that that I can't do as easily on other guitars. Also, the nut with up here is is the smaller one in 5/8 so it's very narrow up here which can for some people they don't like these guitars because of that reason

 Things about Mustang Yeah, they are thwack. II They don't have a lot of sustain on their own. Yeah, you're not going to get this thing to sing or store like a. Les Paul It's not going to have the power of the growl of a telly

Vintage 1966 Fender Mustang Review

 So yep, it's just me and Pete today. you are massively louder in my ears than I am so I hope you couldn't hear yourself yeah I think I can balance that out something uh we will we will um but yes so this is mine feels not really nice to play really like I can completely see how this has become kind of a cult classic yeah I don't even know necessarily this is a beginner's guitar anymore is it just becomes something that it might suit your style maybe maybe smaller guitars are more comfy for you maybe you just like that slightly anti-hero kind of vibe of the mustang um anti-hero that's a very cool very good word uh anyway anyway I mean it's the same one it's just the p90s in there it's got the palfero board it's got the satin finish neck it's got the fender tuners on the back there made in mexico nice satin a burgundy uh finish um four bolt on the back little sticker that says don't throw in the bin um and you know and the difference between between the p90s there's more volume in them you know oh that's the back it's really I'm not going to turn it down a little bit so if you again Pete and I were lucky enough to go to a brilliant pickup maker called Monty's recently who explained how a p90 is different to a single coil yeah and it's to do with where the magnet is in the in the pickup so proper single coils the the six pole pieces are actually magnetized and then the coppers wound like that on a p90 the pole pieces aren't magnetized but a big bar magnet sits underneath it which kind of creates the magnetic field and the coppers wound around the pole pieces as normal uh but yes generally speaking a p90 is a fatter louder version of a single coil so i mean it sounds great uh middle how are you finding the short scaleness of it i i think generally speaking they are a bit less stable in terms of tuning yeah in the 25 and a half inch scale length you know what it doesn't feel like a shorter guitar because the body is quite long right so the body is actually from here to here i reckon it's more or less the same as a telecast at least so when you got your arm over and it doesn't have the armrest which means that it's thinner isn't it this bit here it's that from and also it feels like this whole bit is a bit further you have to have your arm in a bit more when you arm further it's just a bit it's a different way of sitting with it it's not and it's not very balanced you see i love that i love that color oh yeah it's not as balanced as what were we trying the other day that was super balanced although was it the prs guitars but i don't know it's not no no it's it's top heavy a little bit top heavy isn't it yeah and i'm even leaning it on you know i mean what we're saying by that if you're not you know ideally what you kind of want for comfort is the guitar to fairly naturally hang it on a strap or on your lap in that position because if you're sitting and the bigger headstock on this does just make it want to um slide over but not i mean like once you've got your arm here so yeah yeah it's not it's not a problem but you still have to hold it up with your arm so there's you know but you know here's a bit of here's a bit of gain it's fat that front that front pickup is fat isn't it middle very spanky uh and then on the bridge that seems that seems like less output in the yeah i noticed that on this one it was like the neck pickup was fatter sounding yeah but i'm not sure i'm i'm not i'm not personally so keen on this i must admit the color i absolutely love it the color i just think it's a vibe it's got a vibe to it no i agree that it's and that's what i meant by the anti-hero kind of comment it's like there's a reason the strat and the telly have been so popular it's because they're such great instruments i agree but the the mustang to a certain extent it just it's cool and it almost sort of says i'm not doing what all you lot are doing yeah doing my own thing yeah um and they're very affordable you know they're fairly about 500 aren't they i think yeah and it's you know for value for money it's yeah it's a great guitar now now talking of value for money uh every single one of these videos we end up uh with the classic vibe version now squat squire classic vibe is i guess a bit like vintera in a way you know it's trying to do stuff that's a little bit more authentic to the original vibe um super affordable like crazy crazy affordable and the color on this is just to die for there is one in the american isn't there like this color as well i think it's more graffiti yellow there's a there's like an american performer yeah a version but it's more this is just it's wicked with the tainted neck there it's got the tortoise scratch plate if you're looking at this that's just a plastic that's kind of peeling off oh yeah yeah yeah um and it's got so it's got a little can't see it but down here it's a little allen key so when you put your so there's no i mean there's no trim system on that then there is a term it is that is so you've got the same bar trim system that you had on the vintera yeah yes but it in vintera is a screw in this one is a you put it in and then it's and then you have to tighten it up with an allen key i believe still got the same little mustang bridge there and you know pickups this is just a one and what is that like three hundred three six nine six nine that's weird isn't it so that they're actually dearer than i might check that they they sound it sounds like the price might be dearer than the the uh jaguars and jazz masters which doesn't sound right but maybe whatever i'll check but there could be more work going into this there's a bit more things going on maybe there's not yeah i don't know and although we haven't got one here because it's kind of not really mustang vibe other than the outline of it maybe i'm being unfair maybe it is mustang vibe but there is this crazy crazy good value mustang bullet uh guitar yeah which we've done a separate video on actually so you can just if you want to type in squire bullet mustang and those are like 150 quid each and they're wicked as well but anyway pete i really um take us through i think this is very cool is this laurel i think there might be laurel yes fingerboard um pete kate we were talking in the previous in the in the jaguar video and pete was saying you know what you could do here you could literally buy one of every classic vibe so you could have a strat a telly a jaguar a jazz master a mustang yeah i didn't even think about this i think they do thin line tellies you know you could buy all of them you could take every single one to like a good guitar luthier technician or whatever and just go look spend like 150 200 quid on each one change the pickups pots whatever just give them the full setup deluxe setup everything and you could have one of like every fender guitar that there was for sort of two grand probably yeah i mean the for the for the strat telly must not mustang strat telly uh jazz master and jaguar they were like 1400 quid yeah and that's what i mean but then and then you spend like do a bit of money on each one yeah it's a great shout it's you know if you just if you just want one of each and they're not where they're made or whatever yeah because these are super value for money i i do i think they play really really good and it sounds great here we go i'm just going to turn up a bit okay so here we go so here's some tones so again you've got the same system uh switcharoonie up here switcharoonie you should save a man united didn't he yeah you could neck bridge oh sounds great man and i'm gonna do a little quickly ab switch on that i think i would just switch those two and then a little bit of gain from a derple oh i'm So yep, it's just me and Pete today. you are massively louder in my ears than I am so I hope you couldn't hear yourself yeah I think I can balance that out something uh we will we will um but yes so this is mine feels not really nice to play really like I can completely see how this has become kind of a cult classic yeah I don't even know necessarily this is a beginner's guitar anymore is it just becomes something that it might suit your style maybe maybe smaller guitars are more comfy for you maybe you just like that slightly anti-hero kind of vibe of the mustang um anti-hero that's a very cool very good word uh anyway anyway I mean it's the same one it's just the p90s in there it's got the palfero board it's got the satin finish neck it's got the fender tuners on the back there made in mexico nice satin a burgundy uh finish um four bolt on the back little sticker that says don't throw in the bin um and you know and the difference between between the p90s there's more volume in them you know oh that's the back it's really I'm not going to turn it down a little bit so if you again Pete and I were lucky enough to go to a brilliant pickup maker called Monty's recently who explained how a p90 is different to a single coil yeah and it's to do with where the magnet is in the in the pickup so proper single coils the the six pole pieces are actually magnetized and then the coppers wound like that on a p90 the pole pieces aren't magnetized but a big bar magnet sits underneath it which kind of creates the magnetic field and the coppers wound around the pole pieces as normal uh but yes generally speaking a p90 is a fatter louder version of a single coil so i mean it sounds great uh middle how are you finding the short scaleness of it i i think generally speaking they are a bit less stable in terms of tuning yeah in the 25 and a half inch scale length you know what it doesn't feel like a shorter guitar because the body is quite long right so the body is actually from here to here i reckon it's more or less the same as a telecast at least so when you got your arm over and it doesn't have the armrest which means that it's thinner isn't it this bit here it's that from and also it feels like this whole bit is a bit further you have to have your arm in a bit more when you arm further it's just a bit it's a different way of sitting with it it's not and it's not very balanced you see i love that i love that color oh yeah it's not as balanced as what were we trying the other day that was super balanced although was it the prs guitars but i don't know it's not no no it's it's top heavy a little bit top heavy isn't it yeah and i'm even leaning it on you know i mean what we're saying by that if you're not you know ideally what you kind of want for comfort is the guitar to fairly naturally hang it on a strap or on your lap in that position because if you're sitting and the bigger headstock on this does just make it want to um slide over but not i mean like once you've got your arm here so yeah yeah it's not it's not a problem but you still have to hold it up with your arm so there's you know but you know here's a bit of here's a bit of gain it's fat that front that front pickup is fat isn't it middle very spanky uh and then on the bridge that seems that seems like less output in the yeah i noticed that on this one it was like the neck pickup was fatter sounding yeah but i'm not sure i'm i'm not i'm not personally so keen on this i must admit the color i absolutely love it the color i just think it's a vibe it's got a vibe to it no i agree that it's and that's what i meant by the anti-hero kind of comment it's like there's a reason the strat and the telly have been so popular it's because they're such great instruments i agree but the the mustang to a certain extent it just it's cool and it almost sort of says i'm not doing what all you lot are doing yeah doing my own thing yeah um and they're very affordable you know they're fairly about 500 aren't they i think yeah and it's you know for value for money it's yeah it's a great guitar now now talking of value for money uh every single one of these videos we end up uh with the classic vibe version now squat squire classic vibe is i guess a bit like vintera in a way you know it's trying to do stuff that's a little bit more authentic to the original vibe um super affordable like crazy crazy affordable and the color on this is just to die for there is one in the american isn't there like this color as well i think it's more graffiti yellow there's a there's like an american performer yeah a version but it's more this is just it's wicked with the tainted neck there it's got the tortoise scratch plate if you're looking at this that's just a plastic that's kind of peeling off oh yeah yeah yeah um and it's got so it's got a little can't see it but down here it's a little allen key so when you put your so there's no i mean there's no trim system on that then there is a term it is that is so you've got the same bar trim system that you had on the vintera yeah yes but it in vintera is a screw in this one is a you put it in and then it's and then you have to tighten it up with an allen key i believe still got the same little mustang bridge there and you know pickups this is just a one and what is that like three hundred three six nine six nine that's weird isn't it so that they're actually dearer than i might check that they they sound it sounds like the price might be dearer than the the uh jaguars and jazz masters which doesn't sound right but maybe whatever i'll check but there could be more work going into this there's a bit more things going on maybe there's not yeah i don't know and although we haven't got one here because it's kind of not really mustang vibe other than the outline of it maybe i'm being unfair maybe it is mustang vibe but there is this crazy crazy good value mustang bullet uh guitar yeah which we've done a separate video on actually so you can just if you want to type in squire bullet mustang and those are like 150 quid each and they're wicked as well but anyway pete i really um take us through i think this is very cool is this laurel i think there might be laurel yes fingerboard um pete kate we were talking in the previous in the in the jaguar video and pete was saying you know what you could do here you could literally buy one of every classic vibe so you could have a strat a telly a jaguar a jazz master a mustang yeah i didn't even think about this i think they do thin line tellies you know you could buy all of them you could take every single one to like a good guitar luthier technician or whatever and just go look spend like 150 200 quid on each one change the pickups pots whatever just give them the full setup deluxe setup everything and you could have one of like every fender guitar that there was for sort of two grand probably yeah i mean the for the for the strat telly must not mustang strat telly uh jazz master and jaguar they were like 1400 quid yeah and that's what i mean but then and then you spend like do a bit of money on each one yeah it's a great shout it's you know if you just if you just want one of each and they're not where they're made or whatever yeah because these are super value for money i i do i think they play really really good and it sounds great here we go i'm just going to turn up a bit okay so here we go so here's some tones so again you've got the same system uh switcharoonie up here switcharoonie you should save a man united
