 When you take the strings off which is really nice, it just is a little bit more tuning stability and the tailpiece is just, as I mentioned, just fixed in place. Guitar sounds great, plays really fast and as you can see, nice good view of the gold hardware there and the upper fret axis is not as good as more of a traditional shred, you know, super-strat style guitar but it is pretty good. I mean, it's good enough I'd say and I really like the split coil feature. I really love single coil tones just like Yngwie but you can see the back, you know, you can see the contours of the body, the upper fret axis and that smooth neck

So basically, apparently what you do is you just twist these knobs and it will lock or unlock the strings so when you want to change the strings, apparently this is just another way to add tuning stability and makes the string changes really easy so apparently you don't even have to wind up the strings very much

 I still need to get used to the action and set it up a bit better. The clean parts have some weird feedback. I think probably due to the fact that I need to mute the strings behind the headstock past the nut but other than that, you know, here it is. I'm using EZ Mix Mark Lewis Expansion Pack and I'll show you what settings I use in each part and what pickup configuration but enough talking

 As you can see, it's got those special locking tuners.  We have off the 12th fret on the low E string. We have it sitting at one and a half millimeters off the 12th fret, on the high, on the low E, on the high E, we have it sitting at exactly one and a half millimeters, which is as you know where I like it. For reference, I always like to measure the third fret just to see and this one's sitting at 0.75 on the low E and of course 0

This Guitar Puts $3000 Guitars To Shame!

 The emg pick ups are great for long sustains, punchy palm muting, and shrieking pinch harmonics. I don't know why people complain you can only play metal with these pick-ups though. Sure, they're really good for that, but they also have beautiful clean tones and even manage some decent classic rock or bluesy tones as well. If I really want to be a stiffler about my more vintage tones then I will use my strat, but this guitar usually sounds fine for those as well it's just not a blues machine or anything

 You have three controls here right? control volume and a knob and a push pull control right? So these are our split call so you can have split call for these two humbuckers. Now the finish is the one that is really eye-catching Okay, so um, it's nice. This is the blue natural fade right? I like it. Yeah, cool

 but I find that these pickups are okay, um, parameters that you know. This is all very comfortable. I'm very uh familiar, right? You can set up the red familiar to the to the less pokemon setup. Yep, so let me know what you think about this guitar

 Now it has the Tom Pros lock-in tuners as well as the Tom Pros bridge all right, all in black heavy metal. Has a molded nut all right and a three-way selector. You have uh, a pair of symbol Duncan pickups. Here, these are the sentience

 I'm gonna put the weight down here. All right. The weight is about uh, 3.6 kg and I'm going to put the price down here

LTD EC1000

 The pickups are good and after tuning the instrument, it came reasonably set up out of the box. Frets are straight, no dead notes. Cons: The fret ends are not as well done as they are on the Korean built models. You can make it comfortable with a little tlc, which I'm okay with but i expected better

 That doesn't necessarily mean its an inferior instrument. I like that there is no longer that ugly writing at the 12th fret. Pros: Overall, solid construction. The guitar feels very solid and has a good bit of weight to it, which is what i want from a single cut guitar like this

 Note to self, always buy instruments from music stores. Otherwise, the guitar is beautiful, not a ding or chip anywhere. I got the black with gold hardware, the feel/action is awesome, but that might be Guitar Center's intervention, the guitar, though, is very pleasing to the eye!

Not set-up to play, out of the box

I have had the version with Duncan JB/59 combo for a couple of years. I am a Fender guy, always have been. I never liked the necks on Les Pauls, they just never felt comfortable. When I played one of these it was like a breath of fresh air

 They are light, but sturdy. I simply do not understand how they can build a guitar of this quality for the price. Fit and finish was flawless, pots and switch works with no scratching, and the tone from the Duncans is exceptional. The extra jumbo frets may take some getting used to, especially if you are used to the vintage or medium jumbo frets on Strats or Teles

 The locking tuners make string changes a breeze, and the locking bridge and stop bar are great and insure everything stays put. Personally, I like the abalone binding though some may find it over the top.  You will not find an Epiphone that can touch this in terms of quality in build and sound. In fact, unless you are just a die-hard Gibson fan, you'll have a hard time justifying spending close to two grand for a Gibson after playing one

 but I'm not gonna be playing in Ultra today because this is the American original 60s model and I chose it because it's pretty much the classic setup for what the Jazz Master built its foundation on. You got to jazz master pickups in the center. These are not 2p 90s. They are single coils designed specifically for the Jazz Master just a little bit wider, more mellow pickups

 This tone and this volume and this toggle switch I have nothing to do with it. So you're working specifically with this neck pickup. but I think you'll hear it's a it's a much more rhythm based, kind of dark in tone and these two rollers right here become your volume and your tone control respectively. So for this, you can do a lot of very pretty balanced cord stuff, or you can kind of mess with that tone and get some funkier tone rolled off leads going

 One of my favorite players of all time. Nels Cline In Wilco plays this guitar all over. He uses it very famously on the solo for Impossible' Germany which just has one of the coolest stones I've ever heard in my life. but you know you can hear those kind of rounded, warm mellow tones that you might associate with a jazz player

Beautiful guitar, don’t get me wrong, however, I’m giving this 3 stars for the horrendous set up it came with. Intonation was wack, truss rod was wack, saddles were wack, a string actually unwound from the bridge when I used the whammy bar. The fret ends were also very sharp. My verdict is that if you’re a little hands on and know how to fix these minor issues it’s a good buy, but for beginners or ones that are scared to work on a guitar you’ll have to pay for a professional setup which can range from 50-100$ so you make the call if you wanna spend the money

I thought it was a bit overpriced with a £1000 starting bid considering everything, and I wasn't in a position to go and collect it, and it was relisted a number of times and never sold so I thought I would wait until the seller reduced the price a bit, and didn't buy it. Then the listing ended and it never went back up again. I still slightly regret not buying it, because those old sixties Fender offsets and student guitars are just *so* cool, but they're pretty uncommon on this side of the Atlantic.

Looking for a little inspiration, classing myself as a new player, returning after a 15 year hiatus since I last put any real effort into learning and seem to be in the right place mentally where I'm back into it, and loving it.

Problem is I want all the gear, but have no idea. I'd love to hear what people aspire to own, any style/genre, any price, it just needs to be something special, extra points for why...

It also kind of gave me a slight frame of reference to know what to expect and made me realize just how high-tech this thing really is. So first off, unlike all the other Ultra series guitars, the Jazz Master body shape is actually brand new to the high-end lineup offender. It had no Elite counterpart to replace because it just didn't exist in that lineup
