 Today we will test one of the best basses, a very famous bass that needs a few presentations,

 the Music Man, which was born mainly to play funk and disco music, but later on it was also used to play rock and pop.

 It is a bass really loved by iPhone users, both live and in the studio.

 Music Man is an American company founded by Leo Fender in 1972, then later bought by the Ernie Ball in 1984.

 The production is located in San Luis Obispo, California.

 The Music Man, Stingray and Sabre basses will then inspire Leo Fender, when he will fund the L agenda, to practically create the basses of the L line.

 The bass in question was lent to us by Ignazio, and it is a Music Man, Stingray, Ernie Ball, 5 strings.

 The neck is made of steel, the fretboard is made of 22 keys, the body is made of brass, a beautiful brass, the color is trans-orange.

 Very aesthetically beautiful, but how much does it weigh? About 5 kg! Help!

 The bass in question is from mid-December 2004.

 Over time it began to sound super groggy and distorted . I tried different cables , amps . It was the bass guitar . Unfortunately I had to return it

 I was let down AGAIN. So back it went . Although it sounded great , could not get a functioning bass guitar atleast here in Amazon.

Great bass but…

Let start with the negative. I ordered two of the 4 string Ruby Red Burst Sting Ray. The first one arrived with the nine volt connector damaged. This one also

I ordered this new but noticed blemishes all over the front plate that indicated it had been used or perhaps refurbished. I wasn't concerned at the time as I figured I'm just a learner currently. Unfortunately, I have had a persistent issue with the strings severely rattling during my practice sessions. I did some research to affirm whether or not I was the one to blame and then took it to a professional; I had the action adjusted and did some practice with it in the shop and the professional said the problematic strings likely needed to be replaced

 However it’s heavy and is not the easiest to play. Getting a custom built Le Fay this year, excited to say the least.

Bass brand

  Build quality is superb. The jatoba fingerboard on mine has a buttery feel and a pearlescent/flamed quality that is surprisingly beautiful. There was a thin film of squeeze-out on a couple of high frets, easily managed with a razor blade. Frets could use a polish but are properly leveled, no buzz, no sprout

 I remember seeing this bass at NAMM and my jaw dropped because the finish is absolutely insane. Then to compliment that, you have a clear pickguard as well as black hardware, and this is driven by Music Man's own bridge and different hardware too, and I have to say they hold up really well, especially the tuning is actually extremely stable, and it works very well. For the pickup, you have Sterling's own H1 Alnico humbucker, and this you can get a lot of really thick, very punchy, just really rich sounds with it that's going to have that classic Music Man growl to it, and then that combined with their three band active preamp really leads to a lot of different ways you can sculpt your tone, and really especially you get that really great Music Man growl when you add the mids just a little more on top of it, and what's great is it sounds like a Music Man. It sounds like its older, more expensive USA made stingray, and there's a lot of just truly amazing tones you can get with it, but no matter what, they're going to be very thick and very full
