This projector is bright and has nice colours but it should not be advertised as 4K. I have an old Mitsubishi Hc5000 1080p projector and it is actually slightly sharper than this Epson. This is a good 1080p projector but if you already have a 1080p lcd based projector then you will not find this to be an upgrade. At least that was my experience, so i returned this projector

Should not be advertised as 4K.

 Viewing with blackout curtains or from dusk onwards is recommended as it does not have quite the brightness to view in daytime. Although not true 4K, at this price point there is no reason to complain. The speakers are adequately loud enough, but as the projector allows you to connect your smart speaker/s via bluetooth you might want to use alternatives. I decided to buy a bluetooth gizmo for a few quid to connect my amplifier to it

Bigger is better

I have an older Epson ehtw3200 and have had my eye on this as an upgrade.  Wow it’s good, the “cinema” brightness setting which is traditionally subdued and quiet is sooo much brighter. Don’t get me wrong this machine is quiet, after the initial boot up the fan calms down and inside of 2-3 mins it’s a whisper.  The brightness and contrast are something to behold

  Remember I said I have the machine off center? This particular machine has “lens shift” just like my last one, this is quite rare with other brands tending to favour “key stone correction”. Lens shift means you can physically move the lens to point it where you want on the wall, key stone can do this minimally and digitally so you can lose picture quality, I find keystone clunky, the lens shift on this is perfect.  It’s a deal it’s a steal it’s the sale of the .

Won’t find better for the price

 Okay so Epson's TW-7100 4k HDR, UHD, look they're claiming a hundred thousand to one contrast ratio, it's 3000 lumens, it's got a 10 bit HDR processor on board, it's got it's 70 something percent of that picture frame something, you know everybody forgets that. Basically this lovely projector hits an amazing quality for an amazing price. Put it anywhere, have some fun, this is the 4k projector for you.  Hello and welcome to The Listening Post's unboxing channel on YouTube. Today I'm

 unboxing Epson's brand new LCD projector, the TW7100. This mid-priced perhaps even

 budget-priced projector is an example of how good things can be in this 4k domain.

 It's a compact projector with great optics, great features, some excellent

 brightness, great lamp life, all of these things that people look for. And without

 further ado let's have a look. So Epson's box, pretty straightforward. It gives you

 an impression of the size of what's going to be inside. This is certainly not

 a colossal projector. It has some very basic white printing on one end to

 create a factorial of the product. Some basic information about HDR and ISF

 calibration, 3D, those types of things. On the top, very very basic. And on one end

 it's got model and serial number information with the scan codes. It's

 worth mentioning that these serial numbers are actually in a little handy

 sort of sticker you can remove. So should you want to put that on a manual or

 something and hide it away somewhere, you've got it serial number within easy

 reach. There's a little bit of compliance on the other end. Now as far as opening

 this, it's really straightforward. It's a classic sellotape crosstop. This

 particular one has decided to have, it's going to leave me with a little bit of

 sticky stuff. Once you sort of open the lid you get an understanding of the care

 that Epson has given for such a relatively cost-effective product.

 Firstly it's got a massively long IEC power cable. I would say this is about

 three meters long. Nice tight fit in so it's not going to slip out. It means of

 course that this gives people a number of options as far as its location or

 just tuck all the extra up in the ceiling. It's got a set of AA batteries

 and Epson's remote control. This is a good sized remote. I'm actually always very

 impressed with them. And like all of the Epson's it's got on and off as separate

 buttons, kind of handy, as well as the ability to access and manipulate all of

 the features of the projector on the remote control. There's a cardboard sleeve

 which held nicely all of those accessories. And I'll just tip it forward again just

 so we can have a look. Then we start drilling into the projector itself.

 Now this is polystyrene and the projector. In the base of the box we've got a little

 bit of a cardboard flap. Now that actually stops the polystyrene from

 moving around and jostling front and back and the basic manual approach.

 The projector itself is projected, protected by some thick bubble paper.

 Removing that is a sequence of sort of little tabs I guess in this obvious

 yellow tape. Then unfolding it we get to have a look at the projector itself for

 the first time. Firstly and most obviously looking at the front we've got

 this. This is a blue foam ring to support the optics itself and stop it from moving

 or chattering in freight. I mean obviously people take care but let's be honest

 containerization, things get dropped, carriers, all these things don't

 necessarily look after things as we might hope. So it's good that they have

 added this extra protection ensuring that the lens isn't ever going to wobble

 around. As we remove it of course we might as well start here as far as having

 a look. We've got an infrared sensor on the front. We've got the 3-chip LCD logo.

 What we've got around here is the ring for zoom and a plastic protective cap to

 ensure that the lens comes with no scratches or anything like

 that. An Epson logo in the middle and then a massive vent and that's excellent

 to see. Tipping it forward we've got a few of the features immediately obvious.

 The first is the lens shift. Now this gives us the ability to not use

 keystone or electronic keystone. It enables the lens to be moved quite a

 significant amount up and down and a little bit left to right. Should this be

 offset or in a fixed object like a lift it allows you to tune it very very well.

 One thing to mention at this point is how good the optics is for a budget
