I have two Dingwall NG3s - 4 and 5 string and they are very balanced. Much moreso than my Warwick Thumb.

If you're expecting the deep rumble of something like a Fender Jazz bass, don't hold your breath because the EB0 is a short scale - it has decent bass, yes, but not that earth moving deep thump. For smaller hands, the EB0 ranks right up there in playability as the Hofner Beatle Bass or one of the short scale Gretsh Bass guitars. I was a bit disappointed that the guitar required so much user attention/interaction right out of the case, but what came out of it was decent enough. I think the $200

It still played alright, and it wasn’t one of those instruments that’s so bad as to actually make your playing worse, but there was just nothing about it that I especially liked, and plenty that I disliked. The sound was fine but it just wasn’t any fun to play.

I just got a warwick thumb, my 3rd warwick and i gotta say out of the 20+ basses i own this has to be my favorite, and i own everything from a squire j bass, to a fender american ultra p bass, and a couple of rickenbackers. Absolutely adore the thumb, the tones are incredible and the neck is super comfortable, only con i can think of, is MAN this thing is heavy.
