 The dt8 is a weird looking light being small and compact, with a rectangular head, housing 8 main emitters. The build is excellent, with precise machining and thick even anodizing on the aluminum body. The main two is identical to the d4 v2 and features the same fantastic knurling and thick smooth threads. The interior of the light features the highest quality hardware with gold-plated beryllium, copper springs in both ends and a solid, copper mc pcb for the main emitters

 In particular, the cree xbl high offers better tint and a significant boost in performance and efficiency, offering almost 7000 lumens of maximum output with a more intense beam and less heat. Overall. I think these may be the best and most practical option. It might be my top recommendation

 The samsung 30q provides reduced output but is still tremendously impressive. With 7 800 lumens at startup, the key power cell comes in at 5700 lumens, which is a huge decrease, but is still pretty insane. Even with its dimmer leds. The nichia 219b equipped model still provides a huge amount of light

 Normally i don't try to push my lights too much, but in the case of the w-2 model i made an exception to get more performance as it seemed appropriate. The factory default target temperature is 45 degrees celsius and i bumped mine to a relatively modest 55 degrees celsius in my testing, this provided a minimal increase in output and run time on turbo and got much hotter 70 degrees celsius is the maximum temperature allowed, which i Definitely do not recommend trying, but i mean it's doable. If you want to go there either way you might want to wear gloves while using this light on turbo, the electronics inside are pretty tough and the maximum temperature is more to protect the user than the light. While the light possesses intelligent temperature control and dural merely provides a reactive system with a turbo activation, always jumping to the maximum available output, if the light is already warm, the heat will simply build and the whole body can get extremely hot, far exceeding the target temperature

DT8's turbo output is downright insane, and sustained output is crazy for a low-efficiency 18650 light as well. D4SV2's throw is nuts for a 39mm-head quad. IMO D4SV2 doesn't last all that much longer than DT8 in terms of thermal step-down. It definitely helps but not a huge difference

As title says, what multiemitter hanklight (Emisar / Noctigon) would you choose to have W2's in? And why? I assume boost driver is pointless for these power hungry emitters. Not looking for 2-chanel either. I personally feel it's a close D4SV2 vs DT8 what do you think?

I bought this lantern for emergency lighting--in case of power outages, etc. It is fairly heavy when loaded with batteries, so I wouldn't want to carry it around much. I certainly would't want to try to carry it in a backpack. I have had to use it for only one brief power outage

The build quality of this LED lantern is very good, feels solid, but other than that I cannot recommend it. Claimed lumens output of 1200 is very inaccurate, significantly less in fact. I don't have a tool to prove this, but I know enough about bulbs and lighting to say this publicly with very high confidence. I was looking for a lantern with high illuminating power and this one greatly disappoints
