What worked for me to help sort out some kinks with the robot cleaning and it’s job success rate was doing a mapping run right after getting the update. Sorted out all the kinks in how well it performed.

Thanks to its strong suction power, the N8 Pro+ does an excellent job of collecting pet fur, human hair, dust, and debris. When vacuuming, it always automatically increases its suction power over carpeting, a welcome feature not available on the Shark IQ Robot Self-Empty XL R101AE. While vacuuming carpet, it puts out around 60dB of sound and leaves straight, satisfying vacuum lines behind.

Having two points for the dust to exit creates poor suction and I ALWAYS have to empty the dust bin manually. It always dies out in the middle of the house, and is constantly getting stuck. The app is nice but it will randomly wipe our map away like we have never used it before. The battery dies SO fast that if I want it to clean our entire first floor (We live in a 1,800 sqft home so maybe 1,200 sqft) I have to run it on low suction which I feel like barely makes a difference

I can't seem to find one that checks my boxes. The one I see recommended the most on here is the Ecovacs deebot, but I tried that and it sucked.

I also can not use the function where you look at the photos with my iphone 11 pro max. I was finally able to do the set up using my OLD ipad air 2. I find it unacceptable that the app will not work for one of the main features or to set it up, using my newish Iphone on the latest iOS software. In talking to other users this problem is common

It’s not perfect - this is a low suction robot, and while the dual rollers help, I have to run it daily to keep the house clean. If I don’t run it for a few days, it requires multiple passes to get everything. It’s not great for deep cleaning carpets and mats. The round shape is not great at getting corners, although it is one of the most thorough robots I’ve owned in terms of trying to get in everywhere and not giving up right away

iRobot does not release suction power stats but says that the j7 is 10 times stronger than its entry-level Roomba 600, whereas the s9 is 40 times stronger. The j7 is just fine for regular dirt and debris, and even if you have more challenging tasks (copious kitty litter, for example), it’s hard to recommend the $250 upgrade to the s9, as you don’t get the obstacle navigation features. In my testing of the s9, it routinely fell prey to socks and charging cables.

I bought this because I just couldn’t pull the trigger on a $800-$1000 unit. I think I got what I paid for.

For now, I say, if you have the funds, and you don't have the time to regularly vacuum, this is worth the price.

Nope. Get a thin wire, bend a tiny hook on the end and fish that hairball out. Crap design.

I can't imagine going forward they will keep this design. If you live in a small apartment then you should definitely be aware that you will be disturbing your neighbors or yourself when it self empties. It's louder than my large shop vac.

Use the tablet app versus a phone app. Only one person in the household should control the programming. Easier to set up "no go" areas using a tablet. Once mastered, very easy to use

In terms of noise, it’s okay. It’s more noticeable than our old robot. It seems like it’s wheels are really stiff out of the box and makes clanky noises. I don’t know if this is what it’s suppose sound like, but it doesn’t seem to hamper its function

Also, if it tells you to change the bag after just a few runs, chances are the bin is clogged - flip open the top and clean out the dust bin.

I ordered this product last week and it arrived a few days later. I ordered the combination that had extra filters, rollers, and brushes since I have 4 kids and 4 animals in my home. I should mention, I have a German Shepherd that is constantly shedding and a long-haired Siamese cat.
