 shoelaces are also dried out and peeling of the material was already visible. there were also unexplained signs of cracking on the outsole. after wearing them for few hours and a short walk a tiny bit of rubber from the back of the outsole peeled off. the negative review is not about the Dr Martens boot as i ordered also an identical model in red which arrived in 100% condition

Described as "New" but one boot had scratches and scuffs. didn't arrive in original box and no tags.

 I'm wearing them now, trying to get used to the width, but I can't help but feel like I'm walking around with feet like Frankenstein in them. I think I may take them to a cobbler this week to see if they can help me narrow them up (completely negating the pride in being so thrifty and patient before purchasing).  I wore the red ones every day for a year and aside from needing to be cleaned every so often, you can barely tell. The Pascal boots are my favourite of the 8 eyelet boots because they have the traditional style of the 1460s but they are a little more streamlined and not quite so bulky on the foot. They are very similar in style, but the shape is a little bit different and extremely flattering. It's hard to really see this in photos of the shoe itself, but it is obvious when you are wearing them

 As I said I am a 10E Brannock, I have narrow heels. My best fitting shoes and boots are Viberg 9.5 1035 last and I fit Alden !0D trubalance.

Viberg 1035 (these boots): 8 (feeling excellent all around). As I said above, these boots fit me just so! They are snug around the heel, snug on my bridge and vamp without having too much pressure and the toe box adequately holds my pretty wide forefoot and is just tall enough to tap the top of my toes without being uncomfortable. Obviously the boots will soften up with wear but even with only an hour or so of wear around the house, they feel like they’re gonna be unbelievably comfortable.
