Dali Oberon 1 vs JBL Studio 530

I found the B&W 607s to be a better match for me, but they required work on placement, replacing the factory jumpers (they have separate terminals for the woofer and tweeter and I found the factory jumper between those terminals degraded the sound of the driver not directly connected to the speaker wire), and room equalizing to get a balanced sound. Some may find the 607s as intense and prefer the comfort and ease of the Oberon 1s that sound very fine and balanced, though warmer and rounder, right out of the box.

These things make a wonderful sound in a way that others just can't seem to produce and is just hard to explain. The other most important thing to me at least, is that they produced absolutely zero listening fatigue.

I absolutely love our Dali Oberon 5 speakers. My wife and I listened to several speaker/amp combinations and preferred the warm sound of the Quad Vena II. For the money, a fabulous combination.

This was about a year ago. I'm only up to the E's so far, but oh what a pleasure to be immersed in the glorious sound emanating forth from these wondrous horn-loaded speakers! I've been driving them with both solid state as well as tubed amplification (I change back and forth from time to time as an obsessed audiophile), and the sound is truly high-end. Timbral accuracy, detail, sound attack and decay, well balanced, tight bass, air.

Had dali oberon 5 floorstanders!! Great speakers, bass-heavy and relatively fast. Great for heavy stuff like converge.

These are exciting speakers to play and they really suck you in. I have Usher, PSB and NHT here and I like these a lot. Sound quality compares well with the NHT Classic 3 overall which were once called the best speakers under a thousand dollars. At the price difference I strongly favor the JBLs and the very tight bass helps make these speakers way more exciting and fun than the NHT
