 Saying it leaves a white cast is generous considering it makes you look like Casper. I wouldn’t wish this stuff on my worst enemy. I hate wasting so I’m trying to power through it, but it is truly awful. 

Asian Exfoliating Washcloth from Amazon: I only use these once a week in the shower because they can be quite intense. They legitimately take off a layer of your skin and it’s so satisfying and gross at the same time.

The Chemistry Brand “Glow” Oil: this stuff is witchcraft. I don’t want to be ghostly pale, but putting on self tanner is the bane of my existence. This gives a nice level of color and doesn’t fade in a weird, patchy way.

Bioderma Atoderma Shower Oil: where do I begin with this? It smells like what I imagine all French women smell like. It has the nicest fragrance without being too heavy. It’s perfect for shaving or putting in a bath.

[SHELFIE] My skincare routine for my face isn’t interesting enough to post on here, but here is what I use for my body.

 Use a fragrance-free moisturizer without silicones, e.g., dimethicone, cyclopentasiloxane. Avoid plant oils

 Instead try a mild foaming cleanser like the one from Neutrogena or CeraVe SA cleanser (this has salicylic acid but it won’t stay on your skin long enough to cause further irritation). These cleaners tend to work better for people prone to closed comedones and clogged pores. Use a fragrance-free moisturizer without silicones, e.g

 Avoid exfoliating - tretinoin, AHAs, BHAs - for a week or two and aim to simplify your routine so that you can identify the irritant that’s causing the rough bumpy skin. Skip the creamy cleaners and lotion-like cleansers like the original Cetaphil. Instead try a mild foaming cleanser like the one from Neutrogena or CeraVe SA cleanser (this has salicylic acid but it won’t stay on your skin long enough to cause further irritation). These cleaners tend to work better for people prone to closed comedones and clogged pores

- Wash and condition your hair before your body, and don’t let your hair touch your back after you get out, especially if you put products like leave-in conditioner in it.

If you’re still not seeing results, try Differin. Switch to the most inoffensive body wash you can find—maybe Vanicream—and use the lotion applicator to apply a thin coat of Differin on your back. 

You could also try sulfur soap and tea tree oil body wash, but these will seriously dry out your skin. If you do that, try moisturizing your back with a thin coat of Vaseline.

 Do this for two weeks and see how much improvement you notice. Pair it with soap with zinc (Vanicream Z bar) with just a washcloth for an all-over cleanser and again, give it two weeks, and take a photo of your back every day so you can accurately measure progress.

 So just as this is formulated for dry skin, I think they've thought to themselves, okay, let's put some urea in there just because exfoliating and unclogging pores can be quite aggressive. So I think they want to ensure that the moisture and the barrier of the skin still has moisture and so urea attracts moisture. That is a very long explanation, but you get me, urea is your friend. Okay, so it also has something else called LHA

 As far as the formulation is, they are so confident. CeraVe is so confident in it. They say after three days you should see a difference. That's what the claim is

 It sort of does a similar job to salicylic acid, but with the LHA, what happens is it works to stop, it's lost away the dead skin cells, yes, but it also works to stop to prevent any comedones from forming. So it's good tag team. So you've got the salicylic acid, you've got the urea, you've got the LHA. They all go into working on your skin, so moisture is exfoliating your skin, so you don't have dry skin just kind of building up, building up

 That would be quite miraculous. I'm not waiting for it to see a difference in two weeks, but definitely, I mean two days, but definitely in two weeks I have seen a smoothing of my skin. I have seen a softening of my skin and definitely seen a difference in terms of my hydration, my skin's hydration and dryness. I can say definitely you will see a difference
