Casper Nova Hybrid vs Tuft & Needle Original

So, in terms of comfort, it just depends on the sleeper. It's very soft and it gives a bit too much in my opinion, but it works for my son. As far as price, I'm skeptical about the quality of a mattress that comes rolled up like that, 5 bucks short of 2 grand is over the top in my opinion. Given my feelings about the mattress, I did ask my son what he thought about the cost - he's all grown up and works to pay for his things, so he does understand the value of a dollar

I don't necessarily feel gonna roll off of the mattress, but overall not the best edge support with the tuft needle. So now let's talk about the pros ...

The misunderstood - So there is supposed to be a softer "well" for shoulder areas, hip areas, etc. I'm 5'3" on a good day. My husband is 6'2". How do you have wells that fit both of us? Which way is the top of the mattress and which is the bottom? Do I have it backwards? Is that why my shoulder is screaming at me this morning? I feel like I may have some culpability in this not working for me, so I am going to bookmark this to give an update

Tuft & Needle may just be too firm for me. :( I cannot return it because I purchased through Amazon and the 30 day trial has passed. I want to love this mattress, I think the company has the right idea and is reasonably priced. So at this point, for me, it is an acceptable mattress at a reasonable price

It does feel cheaply made - makes me question the durability. I didn’t get any significant pains while sleeping on this mattress, but I did notice a few aches on some days. I just got a Tuft & Needle Original queen mattress. Buying and unpacking experience was just fine. Good ship times, easy to get set up, didn't take long to 'plump' out.

Those feel like a good balance between cost and comfort. We like something on the softer side (nothing too firm).

-We like a responsive foam that you can change positions without getting stuck in mattress, but also want to be cradled a bit... So some sink in is good

Also, we also prefer sleeping cooler, so a mattress that can also keep cool is a plus. She and I are primarily side & back sleepers.

1. Way cooler than the old memory foam topper. I set my thermostat to 58 at night as i sleep hot. I was always removing covers in in the middle of the night because of the heat retained by the memory foam topper

TLDR: So-so comfort, too hot for us. Just okay. Like many folks, I did my fair share of research prior to purchasing a new mattress. The thousands of positive reviews convinced us to give this mattress a try, plus I was impressed by the reported excellent customer service and ability to return it if it didn't work for us

UPDATE: It took SIX MONTHS of around-the-clock venting with a VOC-removing air purifier in the room before the off-gassing stopped making me sick.

Also the new one, in a complete 180 from this standard one, smelt like a chemical factory when unpacked and still has a scent today (though much less). That was disappointing. Also it's supposed to be cooler than the standard and seems to be warmer. Not the best start for $400 more, but time will tell
