Canon Pixma Pro-200 vs Epson SureColor P700

The professional-grade Canon Pixma Pro-200 produces beautiful borderless photos and artwork on cut sheets up to 13 by 39 inches.

5x11 award certificates in black and white, 100-200 a week, so it needs to be reliable. The best option I've seen is the Epson P700, $800, which seems kinda overkill for a certificate. Thanks!

Single paper or a few, photo high end or plain it jams everything and occasionally misfeeds and then you get crap printing errors on your expensive paper with their expensive ink. I had the pro-100 for years and did great but this too many misses. Oh and yes I did all the alignments when I installed. OR it gets worse as Amazon puts me in contact with Canon and after 30 minutes Canon agrees to change it as it's defective

Ideally, Epson would give its users more ink choice by offering higher-yield alternatives to the 25ml ink cartridges. But even there, it's hard to be anything but impressed looking at the P700 versus the older P400. The latter lists for a couple of hundred dollars less, but it uses only eight inks that come in 14ml cartridges. And it has virtually no control panel to speak of, let alone a graphical display

For what this printer costs and the cost of ownership. The quality for anything other than hugh pictures is wasted. Also the time it takes to print a small picture is at least 5 times slower at receiving the data just to start the print. (HP 3750 printed 5 pages, as good a quality, to the P7900)

We have a Canon Pixma G6020 we bought before getting a Cricut. It has massive ink tanks and the cost per page is great. Price is about $280 but it comes with enough ink to print thousands of pages which offsets the cost.

Given all the praises we've showered this marvel of modern home printing with, you may be wondering, what's the catch? It's the cost. The Epson SureColor P700 is expensive and is made more so because the inks that come with the machine are "starter" cartridges that will quickly be exhausted. The unit is also physically large and will eat up a lot of desk or countertop space. Those are our only critiques for this machine — it is truly a pleasure to use

Tried buying all new cartridges and everyone lists them as back order. 5 Star: Quality of print is exceptional. No Star: How can run a business with product like this?

the one they sent was defective & they replaced it -- ok, that's good. BUt in the process of proving that the first one was defective (it wouldn't charge the ink), I went through all the little starter ink cartridges AND most of a full set of my own new ink cartridges, and also a full "maintenance" cartridge that collected all the wasted ink from those new cartridges. They refused to reimburse me for this expense related to their defective unit. Mostly I've had great experience with Epson over the years, but this time it was not good
