Worst of all, I’m not sure if I had a bad unit, or if these vary by unit, but this camera would overheat after just 27 continuous minutes of recording video, in a cooled down room, and in about 15 continuous minutes of recording video outside in the heat. This may not be an issue for recording small clips, as it does last longer and cool down in between recordings, but it was a deal breaker for me. It’s a shame because aside from these two issues, this is the perfect camera. For travel, I sacrificed the video sharpness and battery life to go with the Canon M6 mark ii, which can record continuously outside for almost 2 hours without any overheating, and has significantly better rolling shutter performance

The eye auto focus is so magical and makes portrait photography that much more freeing to create. Camera features and handling - 10/10.

The Cannon M6 Mark ii, Sony A6400, or Fujifilm XT-30 all have better viewfinders for a very small price difference. The auto-focus is amazing and if you are just a casual user who will stick with the kit lens this is a good deal. But the auto-focus on most modern cameras are very good as well and I've rarely had to complain about them. Sony has committed themselves much more to their full frame offerings than the APS-C format

That said, its battery life leaves something to be desired, as you can't use it while it's charging. Also, while it can shoot at a quick 11 fps in its high-speed continuous shooting mode, it takes a long time to empty its photo buffer if you manage to fill it up. Still, if you're looking for a low-light powerhouse, this is a great option that should suit most people, thanks to its fantastic noise handling, great autofocus, and comfortable ergonomics.

If you're out for a day at the theme park, or bouncing around museums and other tourist sites, you should absolutely bring a spare battery or two. The a6100 is supposed to get you about 400 shots per charge, or about two hours of video recording time, but those numbers are a little optimistic. You'll get there if you shoot in burst mode, but fall short if you use the camera like most people do.

I have had so much fun and the only limiting factors I see right now between this and an a7 are two things: APS-C format, and low light performance. Again, this is for photography. I highly recommend Sony's 18-105 f/4 lens. Every other lense you get should be a full frame lense for when you graduate to a full frame Sony camera!

In the review, it asked me to rate the features and Touch Screen was an option. I dont like the touchscreen because its a little messy when you flip up the screen and you accidentally touched it and now its locked it focus on some obscure part. You can cancel that but its my only annoyance.
