 Just as an example of how absurdly accurate the eye autofocus is: When I first got the camera I was testing it in my bedroom. I have a collage that has photo of me and my daughters in the center of it on one side of my bedroom as I sat against the opposite wall. The picture of me and my daughters within the collage is likely only 4x3 inches large. Zoomed to 105mm focal length and panning across the wall with that collage coming into frame, it automatically tracked focus on the eye of my daughter who was in the foreground

  This camera just nails focus. Focusing specifically on a person’s eye is remarkably impressive. Just as an example of how absurdly accurate the eye autofocus is: When I first got the camera I was testing it in my bedroom. I have a collage that has photo of me and my daughters in the center of it on one side of my bedroom as I sat against the opposite wall

  Also, having IBIS (in body image stabilization) is really wonderful and just adds extra security knowing I will get sharp images taken. It also opens up the ability to have non-stabilized lenses without worry of out-of-focus images taken. Using this body with the new "Nifty 50" (RF 50mm f1.8 STM) which doesn't have IS has helped retain sharp images much more

 The EOS R6 not only takes fantastic shots it does so more consistently than the EOS R did for me. This is likely due largely to the improved Digic X processor in the R6 versus the Digic 8 in the R.  This camera just nails focus. Focusing specifically on a person’s eye is remarkably impressive

 You can play with the sliders to see the befores and the afters and if you decide to pick them up right now they are on sale or if you want to get skittles from pro pack one.  They are working on less expensive options, but even their pro f4 lenses are fairly expensive. The good news is: if you have quality ef glass already, it will adapt very well with the ef to rf adapter if you can actually get one because they're kind of sold out everywhere at the time of recording this now. Another downside when it comes to lenses is that they're, currently no third-party rf lenses from sigma or tamron, whereas with sony there's a ton of solid options, both expensive and inexpensive from tamron and sigma price is also another downside now bear with me, as i explain this, Because i think it's worth every penny, but i think it should be at least 200 to 250 dollars less because the closer you can get to that 2k sweet spot, the more i think canon will sell, but at the end of the day, if you're making money With your gear, the few extra bucks will be made up quickly, it's those people who, as of right now, who don't do this for money that might be scared away at the higher price, even though it's worth every single penny. Like i said now, there are rumors of less expensive, updated, full frame r bodies, but we'll have to wait and see what cannon releases at the end of the day after being out for a full year, the r6 still holds up and will continue to hold up For years to come now, if you're, someone who has a lot of canon, ef, glass and you've, been waiting to go mirrorless, the r6 is a great option

I do record videos, but never in 4k, because of the added upgrades to new computer hardware I'd have to get, so 1080 works great for me. It is also a plus that it has c-log that the 5D at work didn't (Opted out of c-log when we purchased it not knowing if we would need to, that was a mistake). So having c-log is awesome to experiment with.

They'Re, just plastic rubbery plastic and they feel okay when they're new, but eventually they break off and by the time 10 years goes by. These may fall off completely

 This shot of a plant is also shot in the 4x3 crop mode again, with the rf 24 to 240. Millimeter is at 240 millimeters at f16 handheld at 1, 60 of a second at auto iso 500, with minus 0.3 stops of exposure compensation. Now, of course, there's very little in focus in this image, but what is in focus is ultra sharp and i love the 24 to 240 millimeter lens for walking around and just seeing shots like this

My wife and I are visiting Yellowstone and Grand Tetons in Oct (temps. below 32F). We would like a mid-level digital camera (DSLR or mirrorless) for photographing wildlife (long distance), landscapes (wide angle), and potentially night sky.

I have been leaning mirrorless for the more compact body, although some DSLRs rival mirrorless for compactness. I'm also leaning APS-C for the crop factor effectively increasing the focal length of the lenses. The downside to that is reduced low-light capability.

Budget is about $2k for a body and lens combo in the 25-75mm-ish range. I plan to purchase a second lens in the 75-200/250mm-ish range. For long distance wildlife, I'm contemplating renting a telephoto lens from an online rental store.

My current front-runner is the Fujifilm X-S10 with a 16-80mm (24-120mm equiv.) lens for $1.5k.

My second place is the Fujifil, X-T4 with a 16-80mm (24-120mm equiv.) lens for $2.2k.

Runners up would be the Canon EOS R with 24-105mm lens for $2.1k, Canon EOS RP with 24-105mm lens for $1.3k, and the Nikon Z6 II with 24-50mm lens for $2.3k.



What else should I be looking at? Which camera would you pick in the $2k ballpark?

If the r5 wasn't for you, maybe the r6 is so I figured that we would compare them side-by-side so 50 to 99 is a little bit out of the bracket or you just don't want to spend that or if it's a little bit too much, you can't Justify whatever maybe 30 to 99 there's a little more in your ballpark looking at the body, you've got the top down dial

The Canon EOS R6 - Hands On Review

I recently was struggling with this decision for my EOS R6, and eventually went with the EF 24-105 F4L v1. I chose this over the 24-70 due to price, as well as having the extra zoom range (which is useful for my applications). No complaints over AF speed and IQ, both of which are better than my old gear!. One note if you choose to go with the 24-105 (especially used), check for any looseness of the zoom ring rubber

I‘m planning to upgrade my old 1100D and I want to get a RP as it fits my needs and budget. 

Currently I‘m using a EF 50mm f/1.8, a EF-S 18-55mm and a EF 70-300mm USM II lens. As EF-S glass doesn‘t really work on the R series I need to get a new „general purpose“ lens. 
Budget is tight though, so I don‘t want to spend more than €500.

Currently I‘m debating if the EF 24-70mm f/4 USM would be a great option for an RP? Does it work well, is the AF performance good? Or is this lens too old for such a new system? I could get it used for around €450.

Or would the RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 be a better option, as it‘s native and new? Although I‘m not a fan of the variable max aperture. But other RF glass is just out of my price range. 

Any help is appreciated!
