 The m50 comes with a really impressive 24.1 megapixel aps-c CMOS sensor. How canon says that it's the same sensor that's used on the m5 m6 m100 and then several Canon DSLRs. I think this is a great sensor for an entry-level camera, because you're getting outstanding performance without breaking the bank in general, a bigger sensor is better and a bigger sensor is better because it's able to use more information to get an image with more detail and better Dynamic range - and this aps-c sensor is going to be great for landscape photography if you're doing street photography or if you want to take this camera on the road with you when you travel or even just doing family and lifestyle photography, it's also a great choice

The Canon EF 300mm f/4L IS USM is fantastic; my wife uses hers with her EOS M50. Nice lightweight prime, excellent image quality, and overall a great compact setup for wildlife photography, especially when hiking.

I’ve recently upgrade from a T3i to a 90d. I love it so far. I have the Sigma 18-35 Art lense and the Canon 24-105 L. I’m trying to find a longer range zoom lense that will work with the APSC sensor. Main use for the lense would be bird photography. I’ve read lots of reviews and watched plenty of YouTube reviews and seem to get more confused the more I read in to it. I was leaning toward the Canon EF 300mm f/4L IS USM. It can be found used for reasonable prices and seems like it would be a good fit. My only problem is that after lots of reading it seems it loses its crispness when it is put on an APSC sensor. Will all EF lenses lose some crispness if the are put on a crop sensor? Any help clarifying this and any recommendations on a lense that you have  or maybe have had on a 90d that was used for longer zoom ranges would be greatly appreciated!

 Well, this is sort of taking things to the next level now. The ninth reason i like the m50 mark ii is the evf or electronic viewfinder. I get a lot of questions about the m50 mark ii versus the sl2 or sl3 or another. Similarly, priced dslr at this point, it's going to be challenging for me to pick a dslr over a mirrorless camera for photography, because the electronic viewfinder is such a better choice like first of all, it actually shows you your exposure, so as you make adjustments to aperture Shutter speed and iso, you will see the image get brighter or darker right in front of your eye in real time now

 But i don't know anything about cameras and if your gear is not easy to use, it adds a lot of friction to the creative process and you're way less likely to use it. If every time you try to take a picture of every time, you try to record a video when you're on vacation, you feel, like you, have to fight your camera, to get it to work. You'Ll just say: forget it and use your phone. When i look at all the gear that i have here to record, my videos, ergonomics and ease of use were right there at the top of my list of priorities

 Detection in the optical viewfinder can't compete with the m50 mark ii's autofocus in terms of accuracy and versatility. The next reason i like the m50 mark ii is a clean hdmi output, and that means that the camera can send out a clean signal and it can be used to stream or record externally. A lot of people immediately. Think of live streaming in terms of gaming or a youtube channel, which this camera can absolutely do, but you can also use it as a webcam for zoom and then get much better quality than your laptop camera or webcam

 Now there are times when it's not an issue, but if i want a small and light camera body and lens to put in my pocket and go do some vlogging. I love how small the m50 mark ii and the original m50 are. If i'm going on a hike or if i'm traveling i'd rather not bring a big and heavy camera setup, if i can avoid it and when i want to go and do some street photography, there's a real advantage to being a little more stealthy with a small Setup and the next reason i like the m50 mark ii, is accurate and easy to use autofocus a good autofocus is a feature that i place a very high priority on if the photo or video are not in focus pretty much. Nothing else matters now, in addition to the autofocus being accurate

Canon Recommendation for Cross-Country Road Trip?

 I bought a zoom lens for distance shots. The auto focus is really good and there isn't a steep learning curve using this. Very happy with my purchase. I'm a total beginner photographer so I can't compare this to other mirrorless cameras on the market but would highly recommend this camera

Great 1st Real Camera

 so how could I go wrong?  To test, I took it on a 3 day camping/hiking trip. Other than my iPhone, this was the only camera I used. Day shots looked nothing more than your typical point and shoot quality. Night shots were almost non-existent

I've been a professional photographer for natural light portraits and outdoor landscapes for 8 years. I've been hearing the buzz about mirrorless cameras and witnessed professional photographers swapping their dSLR's for mirrorless. My primary camera is a Canon EOS 5D Mark III and I LOVE this thing. The only problem is that it's very bulky so it makes it hard to take on trips where I have to encounter strenuous hikes and climbs

 Other than the quality, it seems to be missing certain features that dSLR's have such as metering mode in the view finder and custom button ability for focal points for recomposing.  Maybe this is a just very entry level camera and what I need comes from the professional line? Needless to say, I ended up returning this camera. I'm not giving up on mirrorless yet, but next time I'm going to rent a couple of the higher end ones (Canon and Nikon) to make sure that they're worth the buzz.
