That will give you good shots and also has the milk frother if you ever want it. A good chunk of change though

A coffee machine for an iced coffee drinker?

 It's pretty easy after some practice and there's plenty of video tutorials so definitely give it a try. - Big water tank, easy to remove and fill - High clearance lets me easily fit my cup and scales directly under the portafilter - Simple to use. Dials and stuff would be cool but honestly so long as it pumps out adequate pressure and maintains a consistent temperature between shots, being able to monitor those variables is nice but redundant. Use a timer and cheap scales to dial-in shots, then taste, adjust grind/dose as needed, and you're all set

Home espresso machine

 Mine works great after a year. My daughter owns one too, and her experience has been the same, although she hasn't had the misfortune of needing a smaller machine for lack of space..

  Here's what the happened with the Breville Bambino. My friend didn't have the right kind of coffee grinder for whole beans, so she bought a few ounces of beans at a Peet's Coffee and asked the barista to grind them to the consistency appropriate for making espresso. She brought it home, and we tried it with the Bambino and---nothing, almost no coffee came out, and what did tasted terrible. Even after making sure NOT to tamp down the coffee in the filter with too much pressure, the Bambino proved INCAPABLE OF 'EXPRESSING' A SINGLE SHOT OF ESPRESSO, GROUND TO ESPRESSO MAKING CONSISTENCY AT A PEET'S COFFEE coffee bean seller

What I don't like about this machine is that it simply will not make a decent cup of espresso--not by my tastes. (Note; the milk frothing tool is, however, great; But froth alone doth not a good cappuccino make.) I honestly don't know whether this is a defect in the individual machine I purchased, but I tend to doubt it: it will simply not generate enough steam pressure to make a decent shot of espresso, of the kind that a bigger, more powerful but even similarly priced machine will be capable of doing. Almost exactly a year ago I bought and ordered a Breville Infuser Espresso Machine (BES840XL/A )

 But having already returned one machine (the pathetic De Longhi Dedica) I simply was too demoralized by the experience, and, so far, my friend and I have simply tried to adapt to the inferior Bambino. Perhaps we'll change our minds, but I honestly suspect that the problem with the Bambino, as probably with the De Longhi Dedica, is that smaller machines simply DO NOT WORK due to a basic design problem: they end up being structurally incapable of generating the kind of steam pressure required. At least, this is what I suspect. Perhaps far more expensive, smaller machines don't have this problem

SMALLER ESPRESSO MAKERS (not costing many hundreds of $) ARE BASICALLY USELESS

 But if you like a great coffee in less than a minute then this device is for you. What ever you choose, make sure it has the heat sink technology this device has. You need a contestant temperature in 3sec , don’t get an older model that you have to wait 15 mins for the machine to heat up.

I got the Bambino plus instead of a grinder/espresso maker combo because I live in a condo and don’t have much room in the kitchen. It heats up in 3 sec which is amazing. Temperature is very consistent and machine produce amazing coffee. The automatic milk frother is great

 It's quite a nice machine. What kind of a person would want to buy this machine? Somebody that doesn't want to spend a fortune? It's a very affordable price. somebody that wants to start out with the pressurized basket and then step up to the non-pressurized with a decent grinder, and maybe somebody that doesn't have a lot of counter space. This is a smaller machine, more compact, but really does a very nice job

 You have a boiler that is a it's a thermal coil boiler. What is that? It's a massive aluminum and within it there's a coil that goes down through it's a channel and it's stainless steel line so your aluminum is not coming in contact with your water and it has more temperature stability with the way Breville has made it. And the other thing that gives you more temperature stability and has a built-in PID Now it's not a controllable PID If you want that, you've got to jump up to the double boiler. but nevertheless, it's still a PID that controls the temperature and keeps it more stable for you

It made very good espresso, but it was terrible at milk steaming. When I got a real dual-boiler machine, the difference was very dramatic. But with the Breville, I had a milk foamer that I used with my Nespresso, so that's what I used.

 That being said, I'm enjoying this machine so much, I'm using it 3 to 4 times daily to make espressos and Americanos for my wife and me. * Extraction. This is about beans, grind, water, temperature and tamp. After finding my sweet spots, this pulls an excellent double shot of espresso

 I called Breville and found this is normal. Looking at Youtube videos confirmed the knocking is normal for this machine, but isn't heard on the double boiler machines.  So who would enjoy this machine? If you enjoy every aspect of coffee from the roasting to the brewing and your on a budget, you will enjoy this machine. If you enjoy an intense, flavorful, but not bitter cup of espresso, you will enjoy this machine

 UPDATE: The steam wand does a good job making microfoam. I haven't been able to perfect latte art, but that could be a personal issue. It does, however, take awhile to steam your milk. This is where I think a machine with a boiler (or even better yet a double boiler to allow simultaneous espresso and steaming) would do a better job

Extracts Intense Flavorful Espresso - 2 Years Later

 Anyhow, I would say this merits a bump up to 4.5 stars. If I ever get the flavor notes to be distinctly pronounced, this review will be changed to 5 stars =).  ORIGINAL REVIEW:  I've had this for a few months now and enjoy playing around with it

 I accidentally put the metal tray cover on backwards so the "Empty Me!" sign couldn't pop up and ended up with water all over the counter when it overflowed.  And if anyone is new to this like me, there are plenty of youtube videos on maintenance/ operation (important for good espresso!). Make sure to let the unit warm up/ run hot water through before making espresso. I turn mine on 30-45min (not seconds) before I want to use it

 Well, to be honest, this machine may not be able to draw out all the potential taste notes of your coffee beans like the industrial espresso machines can. But for something that's a reasonable price for the person who wants to enjoy a decent cup of espresso at home, it's a pretty good machine. I give it 4 stars because it's not able to bring out the full potential of my beans, but it does pretty well! You'll be a completely satisfied customer if you don't expect it to do exactly what a machine 3 times its price (and footprint) can do.  For those who may experience some water leakage, check to make sure your tray isn't full

It will taste watery, sometimes a bit bitter, and just not really worth the money. You'll spend a couple hundred bucks and be totally disappointed

 You will waste coffee, but it will be so much, much more consistent and better-tasting than if you use the single-shot cup. I now pull nearly-perfect shots every time, where before I was doing 2/5 if I was lucky. Best piece of advice anybody gave me.
