That will give you good shots and also has the milk frother if you ever want it. A good chunk of change though

A coffee machine for an iced coffee drinker?

 It's pretty easy after some practice and there's plenty of video tutorials so definitely give it a try. - Big water tank, easy to remove and fill - High clearance lets me easily fit my cup and scales directly under the portafilter - Simple to use. Dials and stuff would be cool but honestly so long as it pumps out adequate pressure and maintains a consistent temperature between shots, being able to monitor those variables is nice but redundant. Use a timer and cheap scales to dial-in shots, then taste, adjust grind/dose as needed, and you're all set

Home espresso machine

 Mine works great after a year. My daughter owns one too, and her experience has been the same, although she hasn't had the misfortune of needing a smaller machine for lack of space..

  Here's what the happened with the Breville Bambino. My friend didn't have the right kind of coffee grinder for whole beans, so she bought a few ounces of beans at a Peet's Coffee and asked the barista to grind them to the consistency appropriate for making espresso. She brought it home, and we tried it with the Bambino and---nothing, almost no coffee came out, and what did tasted terrible. Even after making sure NOT to tamp down the coffee in the filter with too much pressure, the Bambino proved INCAPABLE OF 'EXPRESSING' A SINGLE SHOT OF ESPRESSO, GROUND TO ESPRESSO MAKING CONSISTENCY AT A PEET'S COFFEE coffee bean seller

What I don't like about this machine is that it simply will not make a decent cup of espresso--not by my tastes. (Note; the milk frothing tool is, however, great; But froth alone doth not a good cappuccino make.) I honestly don't know whether this is a defect in the individual machine I purchased, but I tend to doubt it: it will simply not generate enough steam pressure to make a decent shot of espresso, of the kind that a bigger, more powerful but even similarly priced machine will be capable of doing. Almost exactly a year ago I bought and ordered a Breville Infuser Espresso Machine (BES840XL/A )

 But having already returned one machine (the pathetic De Longhi Dedica) I simply was too demoralized by the experience, and, so far, my friend and I have simply tried to adapt to the inferior Bambino. Perhaps we'll change our minds, but I honestly suspect that the problem with the Bambino, as probably with the De Longhi Dedica, is that smaller machines simply DO NOT WORK due to a basic design problem: they end up being structurally incapable of generating the kind of steam pressure required. At least, this is what I suspect. Perhaps far more expensive, smaller machines don't have this problem

SMALLER ESPRESSO MAKERS (not costing many hundreds of $) ARE BASICALLY USELESS

 But if you like a great coffee in less than a minute then this device is for you. What ever you choose, make sure it has the heat sink technology this device has. You need a contestant temperature in 3sec , don’t get an older model that you have to wait 15 mins for the machine to heat up.

I got the Bambino plus instead of a grinder/espresso maker combo because I live in a condo and don’t have much room in the kitchen. It heats up in 3 sec which is amazing. Temperature is very consistent and machine produce amazing coffee. The automatic milk frother is great

 You need a contestant temperature in 3sec , don’t get an older model that you have to wait 15 mins for the machine to heat up.

 The machine itself is stainless steel, solidly constructed, and the portafilter is heavy-duty. The frothing tube is self-cleaning which is ingenious. You can definitely find a less expensive unit, but you'll be compromising in key performance and construction areas, something I just wasn't willing to do. So, if you're looking for an aesthetically attractive, small-footprint, well-constructed machine that is simple to use and creates exceptional Espresso and Cappuccino, you will be truly pleased with this unit

 First, the way it was packaged was intelligent and simple. The manual is similarly thoughtful in its layout and one can immediately discern that it was written by someone whose first language is English. E.g

 Everything else is as intuitive as one would hope for. And, critically, as you can see from this photo, the one-shot creates superb crema and a rich, hot, cup of Espresso in just seconds. The machine itself is stainless steel, solidly constructed, and the portafilter is heavy-duty. The frothing tube is self-cleaning which is ingenious

 Steaming performance on the barista touch was a bit hit and miss for me. However, I think that those who are drawn to the convenience of this machine will be perfectly satisfied. Let me explain. The barista touch uses a panorello style steam arm to automatically introduce air to create the exact temperature and texture you program in

 So if you put convenience and ease of use at the top of your list of requirements for a home espresso system, then the Barista Touch is absolutely one you should be checking out. However, if none of these features stood out as must-haves then you'd be better off sticking with the less expensive Barista Pro.  It does that, and it does that very well. The thermojet heating system provides a very quick transition between brewing and steaming and steaming speeds that are equal or even slightly faster than other products in this category. It should be noted that because the temperature sensor measures on the outside of the pitcher, it means that the actual milk temperature is around 5 degrees warmer than the display temperature. Not a huge deal, simply tweak the temperature to taste

Breville Barista Touch Review  | Do you need a screen?

 This one makes the crema and froths the milk without my needing to monitor it. Very nice. I'm still learning about this machine, so correct me if I'm wrong. I like my milk and latte very hot

 There is no control for the temperature of the crema, thus the milk is the only variable with flexibility. The highest temperature setting allowed on the milk is 170 degrees. On my old machine where I manually monitored the frothing with a thermometer, I would go to 180 degrees. Part of the reason I like it that hot to start with, is that I make big lattes

I really like the automated features on this machine. My old Rancilio required being involved in every step. This one makes the crema and froths the milk without my needing to monitor it. Very nice

Thus, I go small, or froth one and a half pitcher's full of milk. One other piddling complaint is that when I grind the beans, it seems that no matter how full the portafilter is, there is ground coffee on the tab furthest in, which then must be wiped off. Seems like a little shield would prevent that

Good machine with a couple of complaints

  ----------------  My wife and I got a taste for good cappuccino when we went to Europe last year so for our anniversary we went ahead and got our own espresso machine. The reason I went for the Breville Barista Touch was that there were some glowing reviews online that made me feel it was a good fit. We never had a coffee appliance like this before so we didn't have a grinder, we didn't know how to froth milk, and the measurements for a good shot were beyond us. This machine does it all, it grinds very well, extraction is good and the automatic milk frother is the star of the show

 I went through the arduous steps of cleaning the burr grinder (yes, tools are involved) and I vacuumed out a ton of coffee dirt but even after all of that the grinder makes noise but fails to grind beans. After just two months this is unacceptable to have it just not function anymore. I am still trying to get an email back from Breville support so I'll update this review if they are able to resolve the problem. Still the fact I have to deal with this in the first place means I am never going to enjoy this machine as much as I had been this thing is NOT cheap

  UPDATE: Bought June 2022 now it's August 2022, so two months of operation.  I made a cup of cappuccino this morning and it worked fine, I made a second cup and it stopped grinding beans halfway through even with a full hopper of beans.  So I am disappointed that I have yet to get the same taste from fresh ground beans out of the new machine that I enjoyed with old one. I'm currently doing pre-ground coffee in the Barista for americano's, and they do pretty good. But with fresh ground beans, I have yet to get the right combination of settings. A lot of the time it comes out tasting burned

 Experimenting to get it right takes a ton of beans, which ain't cheap! I plan on trying it with bean that are not espresso roast to see if that makes any difference. I'm not sure the quality of the built-in grinder is the best, and we have to pat the top of it to get beans to fall down in sometimes. However, everything else works beautifully. The frothing wand is great, with the auto-heat sensor

Overall, very good

 I tried medium roast coffee from a local roaster (quite expensive. 12 oz cost me $15) and I had to try nearly 20 times before was able to meet the required dripping after 8 seconds requirement. Following settings work for me. Wish there was some chart or such guiding users
