That will give you good shots and also has the milk frother if you ever want it. A good chunk of change though

A coffee machine for an iced coffee drinker?

 It's pretty easy after some practice and there's plenty of video tutorials so definitely give it a try. - Big water tank, easy to remove and fill - High clearance lets me easily fit my cup and scales directly under the portafilter - Simple to use. Dials and stuff would be cool but honestly so long as it pumps out adequate pressure and maintains a consistent temperature between shots, being able to monitor those variables is nice but redundant. Use a timer and cheap scales to dial-in shots, then taste, adjust grind/dose as needed, and you're all set

Home espresso machine

 Mine works great after a year. My daughter owns one too, and her experience has been the same, although she hasn't had the misfortune of needing a smaller machine for lack of space..

  Here's what the happened with the Breville Bambino. My friend didn't have the right kind of coffee grinder for whole beans, so she bought a few ounces of beans at a Peet's Coffee and asked the barista to grind them to the consistency appropriate for making espresso. She brought it home, and we tried it with the Bambino and---nothing, almost no coffee came out, and what did tasted terrible. Even after making sure NOT to tamp down the coffee in the filter with too much pressure, the Bambino proved INCAPABLE OF 'EXPRESSING' A SINGLE SHOT OF ESPRESSO, GROUND TO ESPRESSO MAKING CONSISTENCY AT A PEET'S COFFEE coffee bean seller

What I don't like about this machine is that it simply will not make a decent cup of espresso--not by my tastes. (Note; the milk frothing tool is, however, great; But froth alone doth not a good cappuccino make.) I honestly don't know whether this is a defect in the individual machine I purchased, but I tend to doubt it: it will simply not generate enough steam pressure to make a decent shot of espresso, of the kind that a bigger, more powerful but even similarly priced machine will be capable of doing. Almost exactly a year ago I bought and ordered a Breville Infuser Espresso Machine (BES840XL/A )

 But having already returned one machine (the pathetic De Longhi Dedica) I simply was too demoralized by the experience, and, so far, my friend and I have simply tried to adapt to the inferior Bambino. Perhaps we'll change our minds, but I honestly suspect that the problem with the Bambino, as probably with the De Longhi Dedica, is that smaller machines simply DO NOT WORK due to a basic design problem: they end up being structurally incapable of generating the kind of steam pressure required. At least, this is what I suspect. Perhaps far more expensive, smaller machines don't have this problem

SMALLER ESPRESSO MAKERS (not costing many hundreds of $) ARE BASICALLY USELESS

 But if you like a great coffee in less than a minute then this device is for you. What ever you choose, make sure it has the heat sink technology this device has. You need a contestant temperature in 3sec , don’t get an older model that you have to wait 15 mins for the machine to heat up.

I got the Bambino plus instead of a grinder/espresso maker combo because I live in a condo and don’t have much room in the kitchen. It heats up in 3 sec which is amazing. Temperature is very consistent and machine produce amazing coffee. The automatic milk frother is great

 You need a contestant temperature in 3sec , don’t get an older model that you have to wait 15 mins for the machine to heat up.

You can definitely find a less expensive unit, but you'll be compromising in key performance and construction areas, something I just wasn't willing to do. So, if you're looking for an aesthetically attractive, small-footprint, well-constructed machine that is simple to use and creates exceptional Espresso and Cappuccino, you will be truly pleased with this unit

 First, the way it was packaged was intelligent and simple. The manual is similarly thoughtful in its layout and one can immediately discern that it was written by someone whose first language is English. E.g

 Everything else is as intuitive as one would hope for. And, critically, as you can see from this photo, the one-shot creates superb crema and a rich, hot, cup of Espresso in just seconds. .. I was mostly wrong on all these counts. When I bought the machine, I found the Sbux Espresso Roast whole beans (around $13 for 18 oz) and Sbux vanilla flavor (around $25 for pack of four 12 oz bottles)

 I am very happy with this and really enjoy the smell of the beans and process of making the drinks. You do need to watch the beans level (the hopper is small) and the water tank is also small - I have run out of both beans mid-grind and water mid-brew by not paying attention but otherwise this machine is pretty straight forward. I did experiment with steaming milk and wasn't a big deal but you can't really steam that much milk at a time with small carafe and steam wand (made more for 8 oz. mug drink vs

 Buying those same 62 drinks at Sbux would have cost $415 (not count tip I always leave so actually closer to $500 for 62 triple venti Ice lattes at Sbux costing nearly $7 each + tip. So I figure I when just considering supplies I used $30 in beans and syrup and at around $4 per gallon, I have used maybe another $20 in Milk so $50 total in supplies about vs. around $500 for buying the drinks at Sbux including tip means I paying 10% what I used to and have saved $450 ($150 less than I paid for the machine) in a single month on the drinks for me and my daughter. As I started off saying, it does take me 15 minutes from start to finish of cleanup to make those two drinks but it could be half that without cleanup every time but I also never wait in a drive through line

 The last straw that made me buy it on Prime Day discount a month ago was that price of my daily Starbucks drink (iced venti vanilla latte) shot up from $5 something to nearly $7. I was reluctant previously because I figured it would take a bunch of time to make myself, be a pain to clean up and I probably couldn't make it taste the same as the Sbux I enjoy..

Shot looked good, smelled good but had too much of an acidic sour taste to it still in my opinion. I’m using a breville barista express and filtered water, letting the porta filter heat up before and using a scale and timer for everything. Am I missing something else here to make the taste more enjoyable or maybe I’m just not a pure espresso drinker?

 The expectation for a great tasting espresso is quality water, give our well water source we purchase water for cooking and consumption. Would be nice if there was a better way to recover the dispensed water after use to be reused but since the tray also traps grounds, it's useless for reuse. For now I save this for watering plants.

...  CONSISTENT SUCCESS! I am now dialed in on my dedicated espresso grinder and am now able to pull the following shot consistently "the first time and every time" and the taste is really delicious

 17.5gm beans, medium roast, perfectly and consistently freshly ground espresso, perfectly tampered, 194F brew temp, 4 second pre infusion, 27 second water flow after infusion, 35gm of brewed espresso, beautiful crema on top. Stir with silver spoon, (not born with it.
