 You know, this is a bare bones preamp, there's not much to it. It's really just, it's quite versatile in the options, but it's kind of like a set it and forget it type thing, you won't really be messing with many of these settings. And it just sounds great, it's solid, you know, you can see it's got like a little texture to the paint, and it's like this gun red, it's almost like automotive paint or something, it's really smooth. And then comparing it to shit audio, low key, you can see the size difference right here

 Yeah, it's a good preamp, I really like it. Unfortunately, I can't really justify the $150 price tag because it sounds very identical to the Pioneer phono preamp, but like I said, that's actually a good thing because these preamplifiers are really, really, really good. You definitely want to look into the Bellari if you have a poor preamp, it definitely brings a lot more out of the vinyl, so yeah, if you have any specific questions, I didn't see many videos about this preamp, so if you have anything, just let me know, and yeah, thank you for watching.

 Comparing it to my Pioneer VSX 5900S, it's a great amplifier from the 90s, and there's not much of a difference, which is a good thing, because back then, people actually, you know, manufacturers really cared about vinyl playback, and they put good preamplifiers in their amps. So the Bellari definitely is on par with an amplifier like that. So if you have an old receiver that, you know, you don't like the phono stage, or if you have a really new receiver that sounds like crap on the phono stage, the Bellari will definitely do the trick. I can really attest to it sounding pretty similar to the one in the high end Pioneer amplifier from the 90s

 My biggest concern was that vinyl would sound like my CD player. it doesn't, it's smooth, silky, musical and enjoyable. I'm very pleased.

First off I couldn't justify spending as much or more for a phono preamp as I had on my 1960's Harman Kardon A300 integrated tube amp. I set a price for a phono stage at under 200.00 and actually found this Bellari VP549 on an Amazon open box for only 109.00

 Nice rca jacks. The specs of the unit is documented, so I won’t talk about that.  I turned it on and left it on for a couple days before I gave it a listen. You can disable the sleep function

  Overall it’s a good preamp. But unless you want your music to sound like someone put a blanket on your speakers, don’t use a cartridge that you know has a warm sound.

 I then put on a cartridge with a known “hot” sound. Very sharp high’s. The Solo made it sound much smoother. As if it tamed those high frequencies

Using multiple permutations and combinations of different cables (e.g. BJC LC-1, AudioQuest Evergreen and Tower, GAC-1, WBC/Mogami 2534, and KabelDirekt) still did not sound better than my existing hook-up using a BJC LC-1 directly into my receiver's phono input

This item actually produced less-pure sound than the phono stage of my Pioneer Elite SC-99. The high frequencies were somewhat raspy and occasionally shrill by comparison. The "warmth" of the sound seemed diminished. Using multiple permutations and combinations of different cables (e

Didn't Improve Sound

Cambridge Audio AXC35 and Onkyo C7030.  Both are fast, quiet and great sounding.  The transport idea has no appeal for me as I'm not looking to be a DAC addict.

Marantz CD63 MK2 KI Signature. In mint condition, probably not used much before I bought it a few months ago. Works perfectly fine, I see no reason to buy something new. Plus, my dad's setup was all Marantz, so it gets bonus nostalgia points.

Any decent DVD player, even a cheap one plus a good DAC connected via coaxial can give excellent sound. I use a Schiit Modi 3 plus an Oppo DV-981HD.

The tray mechanism on CD players eventually wears out so why over invest? By going separates, you can replace or upgrade either when desired.

As a added bonus you can play videos and route the sound to your speakers in 2.0 sound; don't need a dedicated HT setup.

 The headphone amp on the Duo is also very good. It pushed the allures as loud as we would ever reasonably want to hear them. Both of these are as good as we have heard for their price. At $179, the Solo is an absolute steal

 For listening, we used a pair of Focal Allure headphones. The first thing that we noticed is that these phono preamps are super quiet, even with the volume turned all the way up. You basically hear silence when there's nothing playing. We would describe the sonic character of these new phono stages as warm and musical

 The front panel of the Solo is minimalistic, with only a power button and the Cambridge logo. The Duo, on the other hand, has the same power button and logo stamp, but also includes a button to select between a moving coil and a moving magnet cartridge, a large volume knob and a headphone jack. When you pop the cover, you'll see a surprisingly stuffed circuit board with great internal layout to keep the power supply separate from the very low-noise phono stage parts. Even to our critical eyes, the board layout and the quality of the parts used are top-notch
