Our lead tester typically wears a 7.5 in women's shoes and ultimately found that she needed a size 9 to be able to keep her whole foot on the Cairn 3D. The strap attached between the toes is far enough forward that even average length toes hung off the end of smaller sandals. And while finding the right size and adjusting for the most secure fit makes these Bedrocks very rugged, they can't quite match the stability and security of cross-toe and cross-foot straps found in many other models. Still, if you're after a minimally designed sandal that still provides support and protection, the Cairn 3D PRO II is a superb choice.

I bought these while visiting my daughter (who wears them) and I haven’t taken them off in 2 weeks! I’m 55 so comfort on my feet is a must and other than my good tennis shoes these shoes NEVER hurt when I’m wearing them or after a full day of walking around in them. I have wide feet and they are perfect! No breaking in needed! Definitely will purchase more! Highly recommend

I live and work in Papua New Guinea, and not only is the climate horrible for adhesives, but also the terrain can be very challenging. I have been wearing these daily for over 6 months straight. I have worn these in jungle swamps, on muddy trails, along felled-tree bridges, rocky water crossings, steep hill climbs, and for lots of walking in town. I read tons of reddit posts, but I couldn't decide on a pair of shoes that would better suit my needs. What I liked best from all the brands/models are the following:

* Altama Maritime Assault Mid - people say they're not great in rain/small puddles or just around water
* Astral Rassler 2.0 Black Rasta model - I really like the design of those, but not sure how durable/good they are  
* Goruck Ballistic Trainers - I can only buy those in the US, and since I'm from Europe, I can't

I want the shoes to be good in every situation, so do you have any suggestions?

Edit: I went for Salomon Tech Amphib 4 and I tried 2 sizes, but both were too narrow! Does anyone know any shoes that tick the boxes Tech Amphib does? In that it&#39;s a breathable water/light trekking shoe.

 They are either too big or too little; an adjustable strap on the heal would be great! I may be giving up on Keens.

5. I'm still testing them at home with & without socks, hoping they will stretch to fit. I read some reviews today on the Newports; the reviews are not that good for a $99 shoe. I wish they made these with an adjustable strap like a Mary Jane shoe

 So it's a lot lighter sandal compared to the other one. So is this a buy? If you aren't into the minimalist shoes, give these sandals a try, as I said before, they're great as a camp shoe or just going around the house kind of deal great to have on they're great for paddle activities as compared to the the more bulk here. Newport sandals, you get the same amount of grip in traction, so that's not problem wise, price-wise they're about the same, but you do have the flexibility in terms of the colors so and put down in the comments what you think of Keene sandals.  Now they do have a fit guide. Take a look at it now. It says here that this will fit true to size and sure enough, if you have ever worn some Keene shoes and you're sized right, for example, on the size 11, then you can get eleven prepare that to the traditional sandals. What do they tell you to go up a half size and that's true: you do go up a half size, so so, if you're ordering online, if you don't quite know your sizing for keen shoes, maybe you want to go to a store to check about see If they have them there, if not, you just get your sizing that way, I'm just gon na bring along my older Keene sandals here to compare see how lower you are and how less bulk it is overall

Keen Clearwater CNX Sandal Review

 So i have found both models. Light and really comfortable as all sandals they let your feet breathe and can be used with or without socks, making it easy to adapt to warm or colder temperatures, for example, and the downside to sand is that often they have thin soles, but these are actually firm Enough to support you when you're walking, as well as giving you a good platform on which to pedal when cycling. I still like to have my feet well protected, and this sandal, particularly unlike most, do so by having not only this strap on your heel, but also a rubber enclosure at the front that helps protecting your toes. The best way to reduce weight of your luggage is to take a minimalist approach and go for things that are more versatile. Unlike a cycling shoe or any other shoes for that matter, a comfortable sandal like this can be the only footwear you ever need to bring with you
