 Um And that's kind of it for this board there's really not that much else to cover here I mean you've got your you know, uh solid little four like yeah It's a solid four phase right like the thing is just because it's a four phase doesn't necessarily mean it's weak Because this four phase got 90 amps worth of power stages in each of its phases now doesn't work like that Does not work like that but you get the idea right like each of the phases here is really like compared to Say like a b450 four phase motherboard like each of the phases here can deliver like twice as much current as what a four phase as one phase on a on a b450 board could do so There's nothing really like I don't really see a massive issue with it and actually asus for the like what you will notice with asus boards and i'm not sure it's that i'll like i've not checked the competing z390 boards for this but um At the high end at least where you'll see the the whole asus doesn't like using a lot of phases is like well, you'll see the effect of that really well is just how many input filtering capacitors asus ends up using because Basically, you get a bunch more input ripple with lower phase counts and here they do have one bulk capacitor per phase but uh I think four is actually a pretty normal configuration though There might be other z390 boards that are on like three with you know, like six phase or 12 phase vrm configurations in this price range so that's something to that's something that i'm i will be you know checking but Yeah on the high end you basically see asus use a lot more bulk capacitors on the input to compensate for the low phase account um Anyway, that's it like solid little four phase T topology memory configuration single phase memory power, which is standard right? Like only the really high end boards go for two phase memory power Um rather interesting multilayer ceramic capacitor configuration right with the ones like this makes a lot more sense in my opinion than just jamming them All inside the cpu socket because the thing is you actually have v-core pins that are like in this area of the socket Or this area. I can't remember. It's been a while since i've looked at the socket diagram, but it's like this area you have a bunch of v-core pins, so Because the the connection is basically like they're that that would all be v-core connections And so you want some capacitors in the socket itself and you also want some You know on on the outer edge because then the pins that are on the outer edge of the socket get their own little set Of multilayer ceramics nearby as well So yeah, I can't wait to to to basically test this board because it's going to be interesting because honestly for like I was Kind of expecting a lot worse um and it's not actually Well, and it's actually no I didn't like the thing is I looked up the specs of the vrm ahead of time but i'm i'm interested to see how this actually performs because uh um Well, yeah, i'm just interested.  It works better, but on the Gene It's incredibly stupid. I have no idea why this waste of PCB space is on that motherboard Then above that we have a power switch, which is a nice little addition if you're testing your motherboard you know if you're just doing like a Pre-build test on just on top of the motherboard box or something like that So yeah, that's nice because you don't have to fiddle around with trying to short the the front panel header right To get the board to start so I'm actually like for for test bench use. This should favor a four by eight setup Um, or like a four by four um And I can test you know, I can i'm going to be testing two by eight four by eight two by sixteen Um, and we'll see which one of those works best for this motherboard Because I do believe they also use this memory configuration on some of the higher end boards So it's just a like i'm i'm interested to see how it does in terms of memory overclocking But it is a t topology. So I expect the highest frequencies with four by eight Um, because that's just what t topology tends to fail like that's what t topology configurations should favor um so Yeah, we'll see how that does

 Traditionally on most standard Z390 boards like the Dash A or any other Z390 motherboard when you begin to use multiple GPU configurations or let's say a GPU and two M.2 SSDs you'll begin to effectively run out of PCIe bandwidth but with the PCIe bridge we can actually run far more concurrent PCIe connections so that if you're looking to be able to use let's say U.2 and M.2 and multiple PCIe slots and a graphics card slot this board has it available to you

 In terms of their overall aesthetics, they're quite a bit different, but they both look fantastic, and they both, I think, follow actually a pretty similar design convention in terms of being definitely different and not gamer-esque, and having a fresh, clean, modern, and more professional aesthetic. With the Prime series, you've got white, that's the predominant actually color that's present here that's got a bold, fresh, clean feel to it that looks really good, especially if you pair it with other types of white accessories and components. Wow, I am stunned at the quality of this motherboard

 We got all the additional fail-safe features that Liquid cooling demands, such as our leak sensors and flow sensor. Finally, in the unlikely case, anyone would want to cool this thing with liquid nitrogen. we do have all the usual Ln2 switch, allowing direct access to several reset and reboot modes to bypass overclocking settings. Now, troubleshooting wise, we got everything available and imaginable, starting with an easy debugger for first aid debugging, a Qr code screen for refined troubleshooting, and a rather long and high definition Led screen which can show a bunch of useful information including Cpu temperatures

 and the Extreme version one of its most extremist products. Once you spent 900 bucks on a motherboard, the very least it can do is to do whatever you want it to do, unleashing every bit of potential from all your components. And the Crosser 8 Extreme does just that. Now starting with the obvious, we're dealing with an E80x motherboard, meaning three centimeters wider than your everyday motherboard

 And when Asus says Extreme, you better believe it. The Crosshair 8 Extreme comes two years after the X570 chipset was released, but it also gives two years worth of improvement, producing one of the most powerful, feature-rich motherboard to ever grace this channel. And I won't sugarcoat it.  Uh, this is your front panel connectors, water cooling sections. You can power a water pump. You can also have thermal probes there. Actually this would be to track the Rpm, the other two are for your thermal probes and then along here we have safe boot uh, retry button and then the Bios switch slow mode V latch button, a couple of Usb twos and then there is an addressable Rgb and a normal Rtb

 You're definitely gonna wanna make sure you use all the screws on my days. So underneath we know we've got M.2 here. There's an M

 There's one, two, three less than you'd think these are thermal probes to put out and then this actually looks like, ah, these are the stickers to hold your hub down that I spoke to you about. So the pack is actually fairly feature packed. I don't think we had any extra layers that I've missed, but there we go. They certainly crammed all of that in there

 Hiding above the heatsinks are two eight pin Eps connectors which are metal reinforced, as well as a four pin fan header. Moving across the top of the board, there is a water block sensor header, two more fan headers, and voltage checkpoints. With these checkpoints, you can monitor Vcore, Dram, Soc, and Pll voltages. The van headers on this motherboard support up to 1 amp or 12 watts, and these headers also support Asus Hydro node

 That's the most power that I've seen on an X570 motherboard. So if you're thinking about getting something like a 5950x and doing some overclocking, this board is easily going to be able to handle that when it comes to storage.  It's all on this board. Another thing about this board is that it really is a tank. Um, as you can see, it's covered in heat sinks. There's heat sinks everywhere, there's metal on the back of the board and it all looks nice and all goes together and of course keeps all of your components nice and cool as well
