Let's say you want to stream or game you can block certain things And kind of control it's just a lot more you can do with your regular. Well in my opinion the xfinity app, which is pretty cool But yeah, and then like i'm telling you guys dedicated wi-fi is easy to share Oh, yeah, if somebody wouldn't connect to it, you can easily share to them blah blah blah diagnose any security settings This is the mobile gaming i'm telling you about And then the parental controls we're looking at so it so I don't think it rocks in science just to you know Set this thing up, but I think what this will Help me do is control. Let's say I do want to stream or I do want to jump on Record a video or play online games, whatever I can at least turn certain things off or kind of control how much megabits this use and not use them a lot because we just Upgrade our internet to be a little bit more faster

Gang Speaking of asus monitors we picked up at asus um ac 2900 dual band wire wi-fi router about the wireless routers we've been using Our xfinity router forever since we got the apartment That's a standard router that xfinity gives you and you know, you get a plan with them. I bought a budget "Gaming" Wifi Router | ASUS AC2900 RT-AC86U

net I ran this router up against essentially the orbi wi-fi mesh system Which I think is way more expensive than this router like that is a high-end router I've put two very high-end wi-fi systems up against each other And the clear winner in terms of ping at least is this range ping the 5 gigahertz band So far, this is very impressive and I will be putting it up against more gaming routers in the very near future Especially the netgear xr500 which I do have in this apartment So I think a future video that I will 100% be posting is this versus that netgear router and seeing which one comes out on top I kind of have my bets on this one, but we'll see what happens in the full comparison video Anyway, this video is getting a bit too long So I'm gonna have to probably end it here But I would like to give a massive thank you to acsrg for sending this out to me to check out on the channel It's actually an amazing router very good performance so far. And of course it has rgb This is perfect man an amazing router very good implementation of rgb as well. Like just look at this thing It's a nice router, man.  That might have been the problem Um Nine millisecond ping over the five gigahertz band and yeah switching to five gigahertz Was definitely the right choice here lowest ping ever Very good download speed very consistent as well. The Asus ROG GT-AC2900 RGB Gaming Router

Strong router, easy to set up and maintain. Called support for support and got immediate help to resolve my issue.

 It should just work.  When connected directly to the 86U, my download speed on 5Ghz WiFi across clients is about 50 percent of my upload speed, consistently. For example, I can get 300mbps upload but only about 150mbps download, sometimes less. I'm using mostly the default settings and really don't have the time or desire to tinker with random, mostly undocumented settings to figure out what the issue is or to see if changing them helps

4Ghz channels manually selected, and Smart Connect disabled. It should just work.  When connected to the AiMesh router (which is using the wireless backhaul), speed is slower as expected, but it also has a delayed feel to it. Everything takes longer to load, click something and there's a noticeable delay before it loads

 I lowered the roaming assistant to -62 instead of -70 in the professional settings to help force switching at a higher signal strength, and that seems to have helped. This forces the devices to switch at about 2 - 3 bars of signal instead of 1 - 2. This seems much better for our two routers, which are within the 10 - 15 meter range from each other. The 5Ghz backhaul connection stays at about 877

I used 2 of these routers (1 pack) to replace 3 Luma mesh routers. Very easy to set up with the app. 2 units don’t quite have the coverage that 3 Lumas had but good enough. Biggest difference was much increased speed

 I also borrowed a friend's AX58U for test purposes. Long story short, AiMesh is truly amazing. With both AC1900Ps meshed, I can get about half my original speed in the external building. Impressive IMO

 I needed to use AiMesh to extend my signal out to a concrete block building about 100 feet away from my house. Any radio reception out there is scarce..

 If the AX58U is the router and the 1900P is the node, I actually get 95% of the original speed. Incredible, truly, but I don't want to spend AX58U money..

*UPDATED 5/12/22 & 5/30/22 - SEE BOTTOM*  Good router, but useless to me! One star for a major compatibility oversight. If you are like me and own a trusty RT-AC1900P and are considering buying this GT-AC2900 to use them in AiMesh mode to expand your range, then this router is NOT for you. I just spent the last 5 days doing extensive testing to solve the mystery.  TL;DR: The AC2900 in AiMesh router mode doesn't accept the AC1900P as a node, a critical flaw when it's advertised as compatible

However, in the interest of those of you who are trying to decide which is the best router for the money, I'll let you know in the following paragraphs, because you likely are wanting a setup similar to how I've set my own pair up.  Our setting? A 4k-square-foot house across two floors. Plenty of walls that really attenuated (broke down) the signal of the previous mesh system we used that I tested from at least 5 years ago (Linksys Velop)

 While this might sound unintuitive, the truth is that ASUS has integrated the standards 802.11k/v/r (roaming standards) into the router, and I have to say -- roaming is flawless with our "clients!"  The included AiProtection Pro is great for us -- has already protected from a potential attack or two. This is an anti-virus/intrusion service provided by Trend Micro for free for the life of the product. Also, baked in is parental controls, which we absolutely love and work well

There are many reviews regarding the RT-AX92U routers that have a lot of either dis- or mis-information, so I'd like to clarify things with this review.  First of all, I've been dealing with networking of all sorts for several years -- even have a degree in this stuff (though, presently, I'm in the world of quality assurance, so I really do understand what it means to not only break things but also why something is breaking). This doesn't mean I know it all, but it does mean I'm pretty familiar with the intent behind much of the tech being dealt with here.  Next, the hardware itself is at least to the caliber of pro-sumer with this product -- it appears to fit somewhere on the high end of consumer and very low end of professional
