 The machine, however, is poorly made, poorly designed, and is ultimately not durable. To me, that makes it one to avoid. In less than two years and only ~750 shots of espresso, I had a number of worn out gaskets, two broken steam knobs, and a broken steam valve. This is despite regular cleaning

If you want a headache with your espresso, buy this one

Based on Son’s experience an E61 machine is not for me. These are like Rolexes, nice but need regular maintenance that can get expensive. 

 Go through a number of mid range drip machines but remain unsatisfied. Find a KitchenAid SCAA certified machine on sale at the Bay. This is now getting somewhere until the carafe breaks but find out the replacement was more than I paid for the machine and sorry we don’t make that machine anymore and carafes are no longer available, 😠

Coffee is a hell of a drug.

The shots are definitely among the most flavorful I have ever pulled at home. They are not as good as a great espresso bar with a talented barista, but they’re very good - a definite step up for me, especially in consistency. And given that I’m in the middle of a rural area, they’re the best I can get for 31 miles (50 km) or more.

I’ve adjusted the temperature slightly; I’m now using 203˚ F (95˚ C). I’ve set the pre-infusion to 5 seconds. 

 The sequencing and temperature resetting are tricky and can lead to a lot of hot water splatter. As I said, I need more practice. 

It's Exactly What I'd Thought!

I got a return model which I ended up upgrading, however my thoughts are that it has amazing aesthetics- actually second to none in that department and is great that you can use 58mm accessories.

Also, the temperature displayed on the PID “jumps” from 86°C to the temp you selected (ex.: 94°C) so it’s hard to know if the temperature is accurate when cooling down or warming up. The only way to know is when the boiler light stops flashing. That’s just a small annoyance

Excellent espresso machine for the price.

 Night and day with the same beans. Easy to dial in and works well with the grinder. Very happy with our purchase and quick delivery. Even the courier was curious about what was in the boxes

For the espresso machine, I have been looking at the Profitec pro 600,  Breville Dual Boiler BES920XL, Rancilio Silvia Pro Espresso Machine, LUCCA A53 Mini Espresso Machine by La Spaziale. As of right now, I'm leaning towards the Profitec pro 600, Rancilio pro, and the Lucca A53.

The Pro 600 looks to be the safer option in that regard, and also in the looks department in my book. Anyone that's owned the Elizabeth for a while can you speak to your feeling on the durability of it? The steam handle for one has me a bit concerned.

 I have found it pretty easy to make a set of drinks back to back to back.. The aesthetics (especially with Clive's wood accent upgrades) are top notch too. 

 I was very impressed with the Clive process. They put in a lot of resources to help you understand what espresso machine would be a good fit AND after you buy the machine they still dedicate resources to help you get the most out of your machine. I wouldn't consider shopping anywhere else after my experience.

Great Machine

 I just appreciate the ability to do it. The PID is a joy, to be able to see what's going on inside the boilers and to have the option to change something. The flow-control capability is a master-stroke in being able to further fine-tune and profile my favorite drinks. All in all, a wonderful machine

After using a Gaggia Classic for many years, I am so glad I treated myself to a real prosumer grade machine. I love the capability the dual boiler gives me, to be able to steam milk and pull a shot simultaneously, although I'm not in a rush generally. I just appreciate the ability to do it. The PID is a joy, to be able to see what's going on inside the boilers and to have the option to change something

Profitec Pro 600 PID with Flow Control

 The machine heats up both boilers quickly and consistently maintains the desired temperatures. Steaming power for milk frothing fits my needs perfectly; as an inexperienced home barista, more steaming power that would heat milk more quickly would have probably been a disadvantage. The vibration pump is obviously not silent, but I have yet to receive a complaint from sleeping family members at 6am (the dogs don’t even wake up).

I spent three months researching information before buying my first espresso machine. Two months after acquiring my Profitec Pro 600 (with a Mignon Specialita and an Acaia scale), I can comfortably say that my decision was dead-on perfect.

The Pro 600 allows me to consistently brew great espresso, and do so with different beans throughout the day. The learning curve of learning to adjust grind size after switching beans in order to produce my preferred 2:1 ratio in 25-30 seconds was easily conquered. The machine heats up both boilers quickly and consistently maintains the desired temperatures. Steaming power for milk frothing fits my needs perfectly; as an inexperienced home barista, more steaming power that would heat milk more quickly would have probably been a disadvantage

 The deciding factor was machine height: the 600 fits under my cabinets, the 700 wouldn’t have. I definitely do not feel like I settled for the 600, I just went through with the machine that fit my needs.

 The drain tray is great, I empty everyday, but could easily go 2-3; Silvia required every day emptying. Love the gages. I preinfuse. Bring the brew lever up short of starting the pump, it does seem to provide a effective preinfusion

Pro 600 9.5/10 Near perfect

 Noise level is way better, much quieter, built quality is impeccable and it’s just gorgeous. I also got the Mignon Specialita to pair with it and it’s a substantial grinder that pairs really well with the 600. Also, I went with Clive bc let’s face it they’re really inviting to a younger crowd. They have a great website (that’s not in the Y2K time era) with great support and good selection

I just got this machine in today and it’s beautiful. I had the breville barista express before and it doesn’t hold a candle to the pro 600. Noise level is way better, much quieter, built quality is impeccable and it’s just gorgeous. Absolutely beautiful!

Bought the Profitec P600 as I needed a compact expresso maker for my home office so that I needn't make multiple cafe runs throughout the day. Built quality is like a German Panzer that heats the brew head in 5 minutes. I keep on from 6:30 for my morning cortado and through to 20:00 for my several afternoon espressos. Love this thing! Always easy to pull great shots--even with decaf beans!!
