Oh, and they have no way to assist me in replacing the part: "Open it up and good luck!"

 The machine, however, is poorly made, poorly designed, and is ultimately not durable. To me, that makes it one to avoid. In less than two years and only ~750 shots of espresso, I had a number of worn out gaskets, two broken steam knobs, and a broken steam valve. This is despite regular cleaning

If you want a headache with your espresso, buy this one

Based on Son’s experience an E61 machine is not for me. These are like Rolexes, nice but need regular maintenance that can get expensive. 

 Go through a number of mid range drip machines but remain unsatisfied. Find a KitchenAid SCAA certified machine on sale at the Bay. This is now getting somewhere until the carafe breaks but find out the replacement was more than I paid for the machine and sorry we don’t make that machine anymore and carafes are no longer available, 😠

Coffee is a hell of a drug.

The shots are definitely among the most flavorful I have ever pulled at home. They are not as good as a great espresso bar with a talented barista, but they’re very good - a definite step up for me, especially in consistency. And given that I’m in the middle of a rural area, they’re the best I can get for 31 miles (50 km) or more.

I’ve adjusted the temperature slightly; I’m now using 203˚ F (95˚ C). I’ve set the pre-infusion to 5 seconds. 

 The sequencing and temperature resetting are tricky and can lead to a lot of hot water splatter. As I said, I need more practice. 

It's Exactly What I'd Thought!

I got a return model which I ended up upgrading, however my thoughts are that it has amazing aesthetics- actually second to none in that department and is great that you can use 58mm accessories.

Also, the temperature displayed on the PID “jumps” from 86°C to the temp you selected (ex.: 94°C) so it’s hard to know if the temperature is accurate when cooling down or warming up. The only way to know is when the boiler light stops flashing. That’s just a small annoyance

Excellent espresso machine for the price.

 Night and day with the same beans. Easy to dial in and works well with the grinder. Very happy with our purchase and quick delivery. Even the courier was curious about what was in the boxes

 My timeline was Nespresso -> Breville Barista Pro -> ECM Synchronika. Had to make sure this was something I was passionate about before the investment was made.

I understand the concept of buy once cry once, just ensure you love espresso enough and have the budget so you won’t regret it. Also you need to have realistic expectations for what the machine can offer and or how it fulfills your wants and needs. My timeline was Nespresso -> Breville Barista Pro -> ECM Synchronika. Had to make sure this was something I was passionate about before the investment was made

After searching for many espresso machines available out of the market, my preferred machines are very different from the one I planned to buy in the beginning. The flows are as follow:

Delonghi EC685 -&gt; Gaggia Classic pro /Rancilio Silvia -&gt; rocket apparamento -&gt; lelit bianca 

Is it a stupid option to directly get lelit bianca instead of getting a gaggia first to play with? 

I am considering lelit bianca as my first and last semi-auto espresso machine because I would not probably upgrade this to higher end option anymore, but if I m buying gaggia I may consider upgrading after few years. 

I don’t know whether it worths the money really. 
Maybe just an impulse and will regret it afterwards.

Is it silly to get a Lelit Bianca as my first espresso machine?

I received the Breville Barista Pro in the mail. The directions were easy to follow. Not a lot of steps to go through to put together. Also easy to use photos

 She offered to send me a new machine, and I agreed. Hope to get it soon.  It’s disappointing because it looked amazing. Very high end appearing product

 Machine itself is practically idiot proof, too. Very easy to use and set up. Great device all around! Highly recommend.

I highly recommend the brand Breville, they make very good quality kitchen items such as coffee makers, panini makers, tea steamers, ect..

 I have the stainless steel version, and it looks sharp and well built. Breville is the only company I know that has the magnetic tamper holder underneath the top of the unit, and it's a nice touch. A place to put the tamper, and always know where it is. Also, the tamper is a nice metal one, rather than the thin, light plastic many other brands use

 Throughout the review I will reference differences primarily with the Barista Express, as that is one that I had for some time as well. The overall appearance of the machine looks good. I have the stainless steel version, and it looks sharp and well built. Breville is the only company I know that has the magnetic tamper holder underneath the top of the unit, and it's a nice touch

Best Espresso Maker I've Used

 But, I’ve felt that temperature are the most critical part for a good espresso, and this machine does not work too well with that. Yes, It takes 3 seconds to heat but you have to flush some water first before gets the “ideal” temperature before start dialing your coffee (pieces needs to be hot, not only the boiler). And my recommendation with the grinder, use baby steps while adjusting your grind size. Otherwise you could get frustrated dialing your new coffee

 I compared this with the Barista Express and chose this one for a few reasons: - Improved heating elements over older generation machine (much faster) - 2 year warranty vs 1 year (a bit of comfort when spending so much) - More flexibility in grinder settings with more increments and customization - Not a whole lot more expensive for the added benefits ($100 more)  Overall it's pretty easy to use. I don't get too crazy with my coffee so after I dialed things in how I like them I've pretty much left it the same. It's nice that you can customize the duration of your shots (I increased mine quite a bit) and have fine precision for grind settings. My favorite part of the machine is how quickly it steams and heats up

It’s also a well built machine and very solid.  And it’s beautiful to look at - not over designed but definitely not a cheap look.  I think this would look good in almost any home kitchen.  I also appreciate that Williams-Sonoma carries ALL the colors, not just some

  It took a little work to understand how to pull a good shot, but after a couple of days it finally clicked.  I’ve been using for several weeks now making espressos, Americanos and cappucinos.  It’s fun and easy to use (once you get it dialed in) and is very simple to clean.
