 I don't know, but I would love to have isolated laptop access where if all I'm grabbing is my laptop, then so be it. You know the Knack Back does that. There's a lot of bags that are doing that now that you can just grab your laptop without having to really bother the rest of your pack. And that's one of the things that bothers me about this bag

All right guys, it's Uh, Giovanni from of the Traveler and today we're looking at the Bellroy Apex, the pinnacle of 10 years of design. I guess I guess at this point it's 11 years of design and expertise. But anyways, this is their concept car of a bag. Something that they took 10 years of experience and know-how in producing

 This is a really comfortable bag. It has some clever features like these, uh, these internal pockets, All these pocketing, all those pockets that happen that they stay out of your way until you need them. I think that's awesome. I love the looks of it once again and like I said it, it just sparks joy

Bellroy Apex Backpack Review - One Year of Use

One problem, though: the right pocket’s zipper jammed, and we had quite the time trying to fix it. The key clip’s strap managed to snag. A part of the problem may be how thin the strap is. It’s quite thin, comparable to the ones we’d use to wrap gifts with

 There’s none of that worrying feeling that the straps might unravel, leaving us with a saggy-feeling backpack. The cherry on top? There are plastic strap keepers. 

 The padding has a really soft, microfiber-like texture that should prevent scratches on even bare metal 16-inch laptops like our MacBook Pro. There are also around two inches worth of false bottom below the sleeve, so moderate impacts from that direction are absorbed well. In front of the sleeve is a tablet pocket with an elasticated rim and leather tab. The pocket feels tight in a good way, holding our notebook in place even with some jostling around

 It’s a sort of hybrid between a clamshell, roll-top, and horseshoe opening. The result is a pain-free packing experience, one that is even better than the Melbourne Backpack that shares a similar design. The best part? No popping magnets issues here, unlike with the Melbourne.

 So here we have a zipper garage at the top, which is nice kind of feels like um, maybe like a it's, not a hyperline material, but it's like it looks like it's like welded in there, which is nice very sleek. The one thing i found about these zippers is when i have this bag packed up for travel, they're, pretty much useless for me in my use case in terms of size they're, just too small i mean you can throw something small inside of there again self-locking ykk Zippers, so it's very low profile, but i just didn't really like it and actually right before shooting this video there's a key clip inside of here that i wish i could show you, but this ribbon, which i just do not like this ribbon and i think it's Finally, getting its revenge on me because they've used this ribbon in just about every other bellroy product and it kind of feels like um like christmas. Wrapping paper ribbon or something like that. But i think it's getting revenge on me because it's got stuck in this locking ykk zipper and i actually don't know how i'm going to get this out

 This has been the bellroy apex backpack. We will see you in the next video okay, so i got my keys out, which is great news, but uh yeah. This is still stuck inside of this zipper, but i guess i can show you the clip which is really nice. It'S uh, it's aluminum um! It'S a nice clip

 So i just wanted to note that while i remembered let's talk about the laptop compartment, so a very like tight leather tab here and very very nice elastic like again like everything on this bag feels so good, which is awesome. I mean, except for that, ribbon the keychain. That'S getting revenge on me, but everything on this bag feels so good. You pull this up

 This is an alpaca tech case that i've got that fits really nicely inside peak design, smallest packing cube. This is how i pack my clothing and then i've got the tom bin 3d organizer pouch. That'S my toiletry kit set that off to the side, so just want to give you an idea of how i pack things and then i've just got my icebreaker hoodie at the bottom. Now i kept the roost stand in here, because i just want to show you how it functions with these side

 Obviously I don't think that they will break, but with leather it will get a little bit more loose let's say that way. and I'm not sure if the hook will hold up properly over a longer period of time, so that has to be something that I need to take a look at. And as mentioned in the negatives, the layout of all of the compartments the slots is very simple in a way, and I wish there were a couple of more zippered pockets inside and the laptop compartment would be accessible from the outside, which would make it a little bit more easier when you want to go through the security check at the airport. Obviously, I always mention this, although I know that we are currently there in lockdown and not going to travel anyway, but still, it would be a great addition to be able to access the laptop a little bit differently

 I need to test it while I'm going to work when I'm outside and I don't just want to walk inside the house like you can see right now and test the bag. What? Test the bag. So moving forward. Although I would really love to use this bag properly and test all of the bags properly, moving forward, I guess all of these videos are quick looks slash reviews

That back access keeps dirt, moisture, and grime on the durable Tarpaulin material and off the back of the bag, and by extension, off your back. Another thoughtful feature is the passport pocket on the back panel, which keeps your passport safely resting against the small of your back. When it comes to pockets, this bag does provide some organization opportunities, but if you tend to be hyper-organized, its accouterments may not be enough for you. This pack carried easily carried a camera body and three pro-sized lenses. Along with that camera kit, it held a 16-inch Macbook Pro, tablet, and plenty of accessories. We think this bag is worth the price and will stand up to the job for multiple years to come.
Do we have complaints about this bag? Well, sure, but beyond the price, it's all nitpicking. Just be sure the camping gear is stuff you would be comfortable using. You might try the WANDRD PRVKE 41L or shimoda pack or a https://www.wandrd.com/products/fernweh (However at 50L there is a risk of having to check it)

Pretty much, I'm trying to pack for RTW travel that would include both hiking, remotely working with laptop, and fitting in a carry-on; and I don't know how to look for advice from people that have done the same.

<p>EDIT: I should have added a few major details:</p>

<li>my pack is 40+10L. These 10L are a space in extendable roll-top, where I could pack things outside airport</li>
<li>my these 40+10L still don&#39;t account for  outside stretchy pockets , where I coul stuff things outside the airport as well. One big pocket could certainly fit a tent, a puffy jacket and a medkit</li>
<li>my tent is frameless, uses 1 trekking pole. I do expect this to be the largest butt-hurt and will either send that pole + stakes separately or will get new ones. Either way, I expect to move on land much more than by plane.</li>

I recently gave the Wandrd Prvke a trail run because I had heard good things, I hated it. My main turnoff of the Prvke is the roll top. I just can't do it. The comfort just isn't it either

WANDRD PRVKE 21L | It’s a different size this time, but the important features are still there.

WANDRD PRVKE 21L | A camera cube is necessary for organizing and protecting camera gear.

WANDRD PRVKE 21L | The main compartment can be subdivided into lower and upper portions.

The lower half of the shoulder straps is dedicated to rails for the sliding sternum strap—our favorite kind because of how granular the adjustment is. It’s a shame our sample didn’t come with one, though the 21-liter daypack volume of this version doesn’t necessitate one. There are also loops for attaching a waist strap, but again, they’re really not a must-have at this capacity. Despite the difference in sizing, it’s nice to know that the larger cube can get the job done if you prefer the Deep but have the 21L backpack

There are two ways to access the main compartment; via the rolltop or through the clamshell opening. As a rolltop, the PRVKE 21L’s volume is expandable; thus, the beefy G-hook is length-adjustable, and there are two sets of hook-side velcros on the front side where the strips of loop-side velcros at the back can attach to. This is fine for quick but partial access to the main compartment. For full access, though, clamshell access is the way to go
